Thanks Everyone, We’re Listening

I was going to continue to chime in on the comments thread but it occurred to me that most of you would miss this as there were more than 500 comments on that first post, so allow me to simply extend an official thanks to everyone here and outside this blog who have taken the time to share their feedback and support for this effort over the last 24 hours. This is going to be a great and wild ride.

Kotaku, VH1, LevelUp, Joystiq, Destructoid, and 1Up, we appreciate the link love, guys. Likewise, GameCovered, TrueGameHeadz, GamingBits, and Opposable Thumbs, we heard you too and we’ll try to address some of your questions (and expectations) over the next few weeks. And please, Andrew, we read your stuff religiously; the last thing we want to do is to compete with your blog. We even got an official welcome from our industry-friend the Major, which we appreciate.

I’m going to get out of the way now and let others here share their posts, but please continue to comment and email us with your thoughts, cares and concerns. We’re reading everything (cough, korlithiel) and trying to respond to as much as we can (cough, whatthegeek), so bear with us. There’s much more to come….

if you are so happy with your 360! why the hell are you on a blog dedicated to the playstation?

    get outta here!

  • you cant make me get out so why dont you get out tgrant for backing a crappy product for 600 bucks i have a right to be pissed so you can shove your dedication right up your xxx 600 dollars is not cheap and until i see more of the best next gen games and less updates that do nothing,so mr tgrant if you bought a car for 100,000 dollar and the dealer said it’ll do 150 in 3 seconds you get on the road and it barely does 80 HOW WOULD THAT MAKE YOU FEEL would you still be dedicated to that brand car. this is the same thing sony has to do something and updates arent the answer

  • the ps3 does really suck there arent enough games to play for 600 you should have way more games to chose from then maybe it would be a great machine

  • Well rundell, it’s been out for only about 6 months. You realistically can’t expect there to be very many games at this point. Look at the Xbox 360 — it was a year before any good games came out (Gears of War), and even then, there was only one or two.

  • As a loyal PS’er, I feel I have the right to say WTF?!? With the news of PS3 football games (Madden, NCAA) running at 30fps while they are getting 60fps on a different system. Someone needs to get thier head in the game and possibly help out the third parties. Anyways how can this even be possible with our “superior” cell processors?

  • how about putting skateboards skooters rollerblades etc in the playstation home that would be nice

  • 30 fps? Does Sony even care? 360 runs at 60 fps. The PS3 really is inferior. I am loyal so I’m still here. Loyalty sucks.

  • Sony please address the 30 fps madden issue !

  • it does exist ! it will only build steam

  • Rundell,

I think your main source of discontent is the bundling of the blu-ray. If you add the HDDVD add on price to the 360 they are not that far off in price.

I think the blu-ray is often overlooked as there aren’t a lot of movies available. It’s increasing every week though, and with the Blockbuster announcement they’ll be more available very soon.

  • A couple things sony could make the PS3 better:
1- put the Final Fantasy frachise on the Playstaion Network (they are hardly sold in stores plus sony could make alot of money) (i dont kno about yall but my discs were scratched badly over the past couple years)
    2-Movies on demand on PSN
    3-better video playback
    4-More Demos
5-allow users to log into their accounts and talk to their friends using a computer.
    6- XMB interface in-game
7-and last but not least rumble controllers
