one more thing about the AO rating system:
if sony wants to get back in the game they would need to sell the blue ray rights to the adult entertainment industry. sony should stop trying to be big brother and let parents take care of there own children. video game stores down here make it clear to parents that some games of strong content. ive seen it happen a few times when purchasing my own game. once the parent found out, they would just return the game back to the shelf.

@Brazzouk

aaquib was exactly right -- Sony's policy is to not allow the release of AO-rated games on their consoles, so Rockstar wouldn't even have the option of releasing "Manhunt 2" for sale on their own website while bypassing the retailers who refuse to sell AO-rated games. Microsoft and Nintendo have the same policy, so the AO rating is an immediate kiss of death to any console title.

Explain to me why Sony thinks it's OK for me to play NC-17 movies on their system, but they need to "protect the children" when it comes to AO-rated games. That's just ridiculous. The age of the average gamer today is ~28 years old, so this nanny approach they're taking is condescending and offensive.

I hope Rockstar releases "Manhunt 2" for the PC with all of its AO content intact, and I hope it sells through the roof. Maybe it'll be a wake-up call for the console manufacturers.
