Sony has already demonstrated that they don’t care about achieving 1080, which to me is rather sad since they themselves should be the ones pushing the limits. Can someone explain why they couldn’t be bothered to even get a simple game like nucleus up to 1080?

The proof is in the pudding. Many gamers are waiting for this killer app demo. Perhaps it is better that sony in general dont mention dates. I know they didnt on this blog but other sony sources did. Because a lot of people get pissed due to their impatience.

As a member of the ‘1080i only’ TV club, I will not be buying this game if it only supports 720p.
I refuse to pay $60 on a “next-gen” game for my $600 system when I am forced to play it in 480p.
I would have hoped that developers would have learned that this is a big issue for many HDTV owners and that 1080 support would be the standard by now. *sigh*

@40cal. It is a big deal to me and many others. There is a 60 page thread on the PS forums dedicated to this issue. When I spend $600 on a next gen system, I expect to be able to play games on it at a resolution higher than what my PS2 can put out.

@40cal. I’m praying for a firmware 2.0 fix of the ‘1080i only’ issue. It would make me MUCH happier with my $600 purchase and would open up several games I’ve refused to buy (eg Resistance).

And sadly is 720p. Maybe next time… I’m with JJJJ_Shabadoo, 60$ is the full price of a game, and i want the whole of options, and 1080p is a must.
Ignoring that, looks great. And it has spanish dub!

Hey Peeps, is there any other new addtions to the PSN today? Yes, I’m grateful for our lovely Heavenly Sword but just wondered if there were other goodies. Did they sneak a LAIR demo in there and completel blow us away with two great demos this week?

Well, the word is “SHORT”. About 5 minutes as maximum.
The framerate is a bit low for a combat game and the response is not as good as it should be.
Also as i said, it’s on 720.
Sorry men but i think it was a bit disappointing.

With Speeds as slow as that…what the hell are you doing on the PC at the same time? I’d shut everything down but my PS3. Cut out the wireless network and pipe directly to your PS3 from your modem.

You’ll be downloading for HOURS!

5 minutes??? Everyone is saying this demo lasts 5 minuets. WHy would they release a demo that is going to leave a sour taste in people’s mouths? People who were on the fense about buying the game probably won;t be buying it now. I think they may have messed up by releasing such a short demo. Damn.

For Perspective….

I live in North America. Seattle to be exact. I get about 6.5 Mbps per second for download and it costs about 60 bucks per month for that. As it stands now the US provides incredibly slow Internet connection speeds comparatively to the rest of the world.

If I were lucky enough to live in Japan I’d be getting close to 100 Mbps UP and Down. That’s because their network is Fiber optic all the way to the consumer. In the 80’s and 90’s Americans paid huge fees to our phone providers for services like Call waiting, Call forwarding, Caller ID, VM, etc. These services didn’t cost a penny to our service providers and what we were promised for paying all this money into the system was that the Phone Providers would in turn keep our systems up to date and bring fiber optics to everyone before the turn of the century. They of course decided that they would prefer to take all that money they had been collecting and place it into the pockets of Exec’s and Shareholders. WE the consumer now suffer from Internet speeds that are far slower than what other leading edge countries offer. It pisses me off.

Do you realize what services would be available if we were all getting close to 100 Mbps downloads and uploads? Say, ON DEMAND EVERYTHING and in 1080 P.

Ok, a little off topic but just wanted to share my thoughts on that matter.

HS better be more than 5 min worth! GRRRR!
