Hey, all. I wanted to extend KUDOS and our thanks to all the Warhawk Public Beta testers out there who contributed to tweaking and balancing the game so it truly becomes a game for the gamers – which is what Incognito’s goal was all along, right Dylan?
With that said, as a nod to the top Public Beta testers and top Public Beta forum posters – take a close look at several of the Warhawks and Nemesis aircraft flying about, you’ll find your names painted on the ships. Hey, just wanted to congradulate the dev team and Sony for this game (WarHawk). Unfortunately, it is not getting enough press so no one is really talking about it anywhere else except here.
I wish I knew what the game was about so that I could get hyped about it. But, it seems like MMOG that is alot like Resistence fall of Man. Therefore, I’ll have to pass being that its like other games I got. But, I hope it sells the system.
Off topic, Sony got another BIG blow today to their High Def endeavors. Today it was announced that Paramount (Who produced the hit movie of the summer: Transformers) is sticking to HD-DVD only. And, Transformers, Sherk3 (and a couple other movies) are coming only to HD-DVD. Thats really going to hurt. Block buster is probably kicking themselves because the went exclusively to BlueRay.
Anyway, thats my sob story of the day. Good luck on WarHawk. Sony need some commercials on TV. They are getting killed by Wii and Madden-XBox commercials.
LOL, sorry if this sounds snobby, but what do “Beta Testers” do besides play the game? Some people rarely even input “bugs” and such.
Anyways, maybe I would know what they do if I would ever be accepted to a beta. PlayStation user since ’97 and no beta tests, GAP, or home beta :\

You guys are pure CLASS!
Thats why the H8 in the gaming media is so shocking. The internet is burning with rumors that Warhawk was rated 6.5 from PSM.
I was a beta tester and am an experienced Counter-Strike and Battlefielder. I can objectively say that Warhawk is awesome, one of the best offerings in the genre for years and yet it is being subject to FUD (Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt) reviews by the so-called media.
They already did this with Motorstorm & now they are extending the strategy to Warhawk.
Warhawk was THE beta to be in this summer, it was the game that made us forget about that “other” beta.
Anyway, I guess you need to fly some of these press people to Cali & Hawaii more often….
I’ve already put the $40 in my PSN Wallet. I’m really looking forward to this game! My ID is the same if anyone wants to play online

Wow. What an amazing gesture. I’ve already downloaded that from flickr.com and made it my wall-paper. I’ve always been console guy and always wanted a game like this…I’m SO looking forward to this game I can hardly wait. Luckily, there are some amazing PSP games coming out this week to keep me company.
Sony, you may be one of those big-bad multi-billions dollar companies, but you sure do a good job making me believe you have a heart!
As for the 6.5 review, which has gotten more attention than the other 9.6 review and more attention than any of the positive Bioshock reviews—-
I’ve never heard a negative review from those who were on the BETA. That’s what matters. I’m sure there were BETA people who didn’t like it, but I would have to dig for it. The truth is in the pudding, and the gamers are the ones that will decide if this game is great.
We can think of all kinds of conspiracy theories as to why this 6.5 review came about, or why Lair got low reviews from EGM—a wise man would be foolish to completely ignore dishonesty in these reviews but let’s not take it too seriously.
The real reviews will be from us who buy Warhawk and other games and spread the truth about them via word of mouth. Everybody is curious about the PS3 games right now and everybody is curious. Everybody wants to see if the PS3 is worth it, if it’s really the best hardware.
I believe it is, but the truth will come out when these games come out. Reviews mean jack if the mob buys the games and keep buying them due to their quality.
If these games truly suck, it will be made very clear soon. Making too big a deal about any review, positive or negative, is the same as robbing us of our own hobby. Buy the games that you want. Or wait. But the truth will come out.

Actually the beta testers should be thanking Dylan and his team! It was great to see the feedback and changes posted in the forum by them and it was nice to know that we were listened to.
I think that most beta testers did love this game! It’s very addictive… but it’s also simply a FUN game! I don’t think I ever laughed so much as when playing a game of Warhawk with some friends! :)

Take the “s” off the word reviews, because its only 1 review. I guarantee you IGN, 1UP and Gamespot will give it much better reviews. Playing from the BETA, its a great game! I’ll be buying it even if it got a 2 from PSM.

Warhawk is a must buy I think the reviews will not reflect the opinions of the beta testers (actual players)
as for lair it was never going to be much more than ace combat with dragons.
I never listen to reviews if I’m unsure about a game I rent it & decide for my self if I like it, these reviewers have never met you & they don’t know what YOU like, belive it or not you all have the ability to form your own opnions & make your own choices
I don’t know what substance the US PSM were abusing when giving Lair and Warhawk those scores, it’s not legal. When I found out the magazine is run by a former OXM editor, any credibility the reviews had went down the drain.
I read some other reviews for Lair and Warhawk and the scores where around like 8 and 9. PSM and EGM can LMAO. We are all still buying these games.LOL
And I am loving this news also.

Hey I was on my PS3 and went on the internet and saw that the homepage is full of Warhawk images and it says 7 days til’ release, good marketing! I like the way it looks. There should be more of this from now on.
It really sucks you guys didn’t allow all the early adopters to join the beta. I would have bought for sure, now I am going to wait and see…

Wow a beta thats lets user know they appreciate the effort from gamers. Maybe Sony as a whole could learn from this, and use it for Home Beta and possibly people who really care about beta and what they stand for. Hence I have been trying to get into G.A.P. for ever. Surveys, comments, suggestion.. but still nothing. O well. Good job guys!

I wasn’t a tester for the BETA, but I see a problem with this whole rewarding the top BETA scorers thing.
As has been pointed out by at least a few of the actual testers, I would have thought the idea behind having gamers participate in a BETA-stage was to find bugs and generally tweak the game to a better state.
The Warhawk developers have already admitted that many testers ‘cheated’ in a number of ways, ways that are no longer an option in the release format. Why, then, are the high scorers alone being rewarded? Keeping true to the whole idea behind a BETA release, surely those who made the most suggestions, reported the most bugs, they should be rewarded. Or, all should be rewarded equally for agreeing to take part.
Unless, of course, the idea wasn’t to improve the game before release at all, but only to crank up the hype (such as it is) surrounding Warhawk.

this is a great move.big companys like sony tend to distance itself from gamers. this blog and this kind moves makes us gamers happy. happy because we fell that somebody out there doesnt see us only has an end stage of the game production. we can proudly participate in the development (betas).
but a little word up… please do consider europe a little more, sony always had big support here. the waited for ps3 and rejected x360 in europe.i know the big bucks are on the USA, but please remember us
