Actually linux came out with that stuff and since Sony is using a custom linux OS i think they could definitley implement a sidebar even while we are playing videogames, videos , music or even browsing the web. It would be convenient to have something such as that so we can quickly access things such as video chat, see whos is online, messages etc. @ericent
