Sep Taking into account customer feedback and some internal testing, we will be making available in the next few days a firmware update for the PS3 (1.93) that fixes the network disconnect issue that some of you have experienced as a result of downloading Firmware 1.92. In addition, we are adding a new firmware update for PSP (3.71) as well, which adds many features that readers of this blog have requested.
The main feature we’ve added with the recent updates for PSP is the ability to set themes on your PSP. Over time we will be providing themes on PlayStation.com, our official PSP site and through PLAYSTATION Store. You can download themes based on some of our popular titles. Be sure to download the files into the following location on your memory stick:
Once you have downloaded a theme, under settings, go to theme settings, select theme and then custom theme to choose the one you want to display.
You can also now play music while viewing photos or a slideshow. First begin playing a track saved on your memory stick, press the HOME or SELECT button, then navigate to your photos under the Photo icon and begin viewing.
We’ve added several other features including scene search for movies, and you’ll be able to read about them in more depth on the usual update page once it goes live. When it does, I’ll update this post with a direct link.

true I “WAS” having a 250Gb with 10G for opensuse 10.3 in my ps3 running with firmware 1.92 and now I have a brick. no problem as I am working in computer science, it will just cost me TIME. I have the “old” 60GB still in a box, so I will fallback to it.
Dear developer, do you have a reporting daemon? or an online bug tracking tool?

The music info it pulls from media servers is corrupt and has to be corrected manually. There should be some sort of way to manage media better. An application would be great to store and update. The gameplay is awesome though. I have been with PS since PS 1 and have never wanted another system. I even stuck with you guys although PS2 was very quirky and had a lot of issues with playing certain formats. Thanks for the connectivity issue update I had been experiencing that over my wireless network when accessing media servers.

But I have to admit im starting to get frustrated with sony as well. Im not ready to give up on them yet but I can see it on the horizon. I have to agree with a lot of people when they say that the PS3 should have had a lot more features out of the box considering the price tag.
I would still like to believe that the PS3 is going to be every bit as good as I know it can be as long as they keep the updates coming, with time Sony can still more than prove themselves.
I would really like to see support for more types of video. More interaction with the PC transfering files etc.. I personally would like to be able to install things on my PS3 to a networked drive on my pc Ive got 1000 gigs of storage compared to the 60 gigs on the PS3
Right now these things seem more important to me considering the very limited number of games available for the console. My PS3 is more of a media controler than a game console right now because of that reason. Right now my ps2 sees more action than my PS3
the only games I have with a lot of replay value are the guitar hero games
(although hopefully that changes next month with GH3 as long as it releases on time)
I havent really had to many issues with the PS3 but that could be due to the limited use I have for it until more titles and features become available.
Today was the first issue Ive really had with it. While trying to do the latest update it would stall at 4% then error out. but I just kept retrying it and after 5 or 6 attempts it made it through the download. I didnt disable the media server or restart the PS3, just kept trying until it went through . Just thought I would mention that for the others that posted with the same problem.
I really hope you pull this console out Sony because right now its kind of circling the drain. And with out Sony its back to PC gaming because that “other” console is not an option as far as Im concerned but there is ALWAYS an option
and after almost a year of collecting dust I sincerely hope I dont have to consider an alternitave to my beloved Playstation.
None of this is meant as a rant or negative feed back I love sony and likely always will I just dont want it to be “In Memory Of Playstation”
