  • Haze is full exclusive now. Read it and weep: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6177964.html

@Patrick Seybold, when will the English version of the new Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer hit the PSN?

  • Cagalli, DMC 4 was an exclusive too… So were a lot of Ps3 games. Now look at the state it’s in.

Haze, xbox 360… next year. Mid summer. Wait and see.

@Patrick Seybold, when do you think you’re gonna start putting up decent Ps1 games? Hell, any for that matter… Silent Hill 1, The Resident Evil series, Tomba, Suikoden 1 & 2 and a few others Wild 9, for instance would all be appreciated.

  • gamesblow, I could care less. Devil May Cry 4 is lead platform on PS3 anyway so I know it won’t be a gimped version. I’m still getting the game and I’ll be busy enjoying it while you spend your time here crying. If you opened your eyes you’d see there is plenty to do on the PS3 right now.

  • So Playstation Store won’t be coming to the US I guess.

  • I’m sort of disappointed with today. Nothing really special. We pretty much knew everything except for rumble, which is great. It seems like there was more bad news (Home delayed for official launch), then there was good news.

  • Halo_343, here’s a list of some of the highlights:

  • if u guys let sony worry about this blog everything will be ok….yall are dumb…we can say what we want ….are u guys getting paid to roach or edit the blog …gosh u little kids are butt-buddys

  • I want it all. Now.

  • WoW!!!!!! This is great. Will you let owners exchange at least 1 of their controllers. That would be great.

  • I hopped in for a quick look and realize that there are some constant trolls on this site. There are at least 2 ways to deal with them:

    (A) Let the readers report a post. If a post receive >20 negative votes from different IP addresses backed by password entry, automatically hide it. You can go through them another time to unhide them if necessary. They will have the usual “Contact Us” link to report their problems to you directly, so don’t worry about cutting them out. Since the readers are the ones who vote down their message, Sony is out of the hook.

If the situation persist, implement (A) by target individual trolls. Ban them when the other readers vote them down beyond certain threshold.

  • Oops… forgot to put (B) in front of my third paragraph above. :P

If we want to foster a good and constructive community, the trolls have to be taken to task. I have run a few successful communities before. Let the users decide.

  • God, I don’t know why I’m in love with the Little Big Planet Area. It’s so awesome. I want my room to be just like that!

  • @patsu

I am very cool with that.

I come to this site to discuss everything Playstation not to have flame wars. If you want to flame go to gamepro they feed the fire.

    LET THE USERS DECIDE.

  • Microsoft Marketing Executive

Well if you atart banning them, waht will we be paying them for? No, let them rant off-topic and call people liars, it’s waht good Microsoft employees do!

Keep up the great job, laughed, loucifer, gamesblow, and scott.

Your check is in the mail!

  • Im very happy with the rumble sixaxis controllers, also improving remote play is a bonus. MGS online looks amazing, but im a little bumed about home getting delayed, o well i guess its for the best, please dont delay it long, and why not up the content for home for the time being.
Nice TGS show, PS: Sony pleas just come out this week and say GOD of War 3 is in development, and blow everyone away, or atleast some halo 3 distraction.

  • in game XMB would be kewl, also more home beta users since its delayed… lame.

  • Okay people at Sony, it’s been a while, but I gotta gripe with you.

Everything at TGS was pretty much a given, there were enough well laid cookie crumbs to telltale all the things you were gonna talk about.

But DualShock3 in 08 for US and UK? WTF?

Seriously? Like, you have to be sh**ting us here. Japan can have it like in 2 months, but we have to wait 6-8? It’s hardware for crying out loud. It’s not like there’s region restriction on it. All the components in it are universal, so why the delay? I even read an interview with Phil Harrison, on of your main men for all things Sony, and when asked why there was any delay, let alone such a substantial one, he claimed he doesn’t even know, like you guys just didn’t discuss this with anyone, just kind of up and did it with no globalization plan. That’s just plain sloppy guys, come on now. Give it to us dying fans day and date with Japan. Please? I don’t want to wait til spring for that kind of thing. Home? Yeah, I honestly figured the delay was comin, you claimed open beta by now, but it hadn’t happened, so I assumed it was gonna get pushed back, but this controller business is unreasonable. There is absolutely no way you can explain this logically, and I’m positive of it.

Grow a pair, and globally launch those damn controllers. It’s not THAT hard. Oh, and BTW, I know this is gonna be overlooked because of the whole “you guys are still in Japan” thing, but I hope there’s enough resounding cries to echo some kind of response about this atrocity (yeah, that’s right, ATROCITY) sometime soon.

  • Spring will be great next year.

  • I dunno exactly if Sony took TGS…and if they did…there wasn’t much to compete with…seems like they all sorta did…ok.

I guess they gotta cut back on the announcements cuz of the money they’re all losing trying to win XD

  • Hey Pat!

Who made the decision to announce the Playstation Store is now available at a big media event and not have it ready for all markets or at least a date for when other markets would see it?

This is one of the main reasons PS owners get so damn pissed, it’s almost like you plan to get alot of publicity through the internet but you never flesh anything out enough to be thorough. You should have a blog post talking about when the Playstation Store will be ready in the US.

Less PSP Colors in the US
Less PS1 Games in the US
Less PSP accessories in the US
Less PSP Store information in the US

Should US PSP fans/owners start thinking more about going to other products to get their fix with the lack of information and respsonse to consumer demands for sony products?

What is with SCEA and the lack of PSP love in the US?

  • LUcky to be in Japan.
    The greatest experience ever.

Can’t wait for RUMBLE in stores.

Really looking forward to more games than I have time to play next year.

Why does HD look so much better at TGS than E3? The games are so crisp, and I noticed that the Sony games are not being played on all Sony TV’s.
    hmmm….

  • SONY IS GETTING READY TO RUUUMMMMBBBBBBLLLLLEEEEE

  • Why is the new controller coming this late?

    Average conference overall.

  • I demand world-wide Dualshock 3 release. I am sick of that treatment. AU is always given a date with either EU or Japan whichever has the later release date. I hate having always to wait for things. SONY, AU is near your production facilities (China and Taiwan) so MAKE US FIRST FOR ONCE.

uuuuuh, who am I kidding. No one ever cared.

Rumble yaay…… uuuuuhhhh. (The disappointment of the incomplete excitement)

  • Hi all.

Thanks for the update. I am watching systems and blu ray in top sellers – you might conseder monitoriong that sony.

It has become quite apparent that you need to lower price of PS3 now – games is not enough – same for blu ray – you need to get as many of the systems as you can out there now for the season – I cannot understand not going to 399 – If you have to buy market share during this Halo time do it – you need a big exciting announcment – shock before holiday season in US -come on guys you want to miss holiday sales and you must have a 399 system. Ok off my box – thannks for listening – glad you semi recovered from the home delay by announcing an open beta. Thanks a million.

  • I don’t know if there’s a better place for this but I haven’t been able to find one: I have a few concerns about the new rumble SIXAXIX/DualShock 3 controller that I hope can be addressed at some point.

    1) Were the ones being used at TGS really production models? It’d be a shame to keep the same old SIXAXIS design when there’s a chance to make improvements.

    2) Please, please, please, please replace the L2 and R2 triggers with concave ones. I don’t know if I’ve ever encountered someone who enjoys the current convex triggers. Even for those whose fingers don’t slip off, they’re still pretty uncomfortable.

    3) Is there any chance that we’ll ever get our mitts on the boomerang design that was scrapped just because some people at trade shows complained about it without ever getting to try it? It always looked like an interesting design to me and I’d love to try it out. It really looked like a nice redesign and it saddened me to see the controller revert to what is essentially the original PS1 design with stuff tacked onto it – especially with those poor convex triggers.

  • You guys announced the Rumble controller, any particular reason why it is coming out in Spring of 2008 in North America instead of November like Japan?

And would the Japanese controllers work with the NA ones?

  • Yeah, I’d like to know that to. There are some big first-party games that support rumble and are coming out in October/November so why are we waiting an extra ~3 months to get the controllers?

  • The show was good and all ( new PS3 ONLY games coming) and more media that further solidified my decision to buy certain games.

…..But the Sony Corp made one of its most idiotic decisions that day…. and that was to delay Home.

No doubt it will be great when it gets out but the whole issue here is that you clearly underestimated the need for the online community like Home.

Home doesnt need to be complete when it enters the market, those voids can be repaired by patches.

The longer you dont have a DECENT network spot of players, the more you will continue to “suffer” in this race… I was hopeing that it would be for Japan only but sadly I was wrong.

But I… I’m just overly flabbergastered.

One thing that youre COMPLETELY overlooking (as it seems) is the cries for a the Home trophies reward system.

    Jesus christ Sony….

  • Thank you Rukusa, my sentiments exactly.

To some one that asked to initiate a ban system. Its just plain idiotic. First you don’t have people on here who are strictly consumers, you have viral marketers fronting as cheerleaders drowning out the concern or real / true PS3 consumers. Look at the one guy with Microsoft in his name. You think he’s a real PS3 enthusiast / consumer. Please. At least I have the courage to post on here with my TRUE PS3 handle. eclipse, I still have a bone to pick with you and as soon as I have 2 seconds w’ll talk.

  • Psyched about the new remote play! I can’t wait for the new features. Also, can’t wait for the FFXIII!

  • @Laughed

It seems like Sony thinks that this industry is still like “the good ol’ days”.

Things have F-ing changed, the PS brand is well established now and they keep embaressing themselves on some crucial points.

    :/

I sincerely hope the Open Beta will be VERY VAST to compensate for such a, urgh, incredibly thick headed decision.

  • good job with remote play…..does that mean that more games can be play with remote play….

  • To Sony employees, please forward request to top managers…: Could Sony please do whatever it takes to buy Dreamworks along with Transformers rights as well as Michael Bay that directed the movie and his staff ? Spielberg has decided to leave Paramount and so the best thing Sony could do is to buy Dreamworks, ensure Transformers rights and so be sure to give Toshiba,Microsoft and DVD-Forum with their inferior HD-DVD format a serious hit at that point.
    http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-dreamworks21sep21,0,7248157.story?coll=la-home-business

Also, please lower PS3 prices now! If Sony is not going to lower the price and release a $399 40GB PS3 or lower PS3 60GB down to $399 then that would backfire at this point. Everyone is expecting a price drop for the next 3-4 weeks, if it’s not going to happen then Sony would simply lose hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide for the holidays.

  • Same question as above:

Can we import the Japanese controllers to work on our EU/US PS3’s?

If the update comes this year I want to play with Rumble this year too, why wait the extra months?

    And where’s F1?

    **Please answer someone**

  • Just making sure gamesblow. Obturator and I were talking about you just the other day.

  • LMAO, Sony you just can’t seem to get it right. I for one will not be buying your so called “New” Dual Shock 3. I’ve got 5 that says within the year of this controllers initial release Sony puts out Dual Shock 4 with the slogan “This time, with True Touch Sense technology.” You guys just keep laughing at us. A$$holes.

  • What is the point of this blog? They never take any information from us.

  • @ Laughed…

    NICE!

Hope TGS was great! See you all back here in a few days.

    Lh

  • G4 just said on tv, that the price of the PS3 isn’t going to drop, and that home is delayed untill spring. Then they began to bash the rumble controllers. They actually have a valid point, in a way. Think about it like this, x-crock 360 is cheaper, and to be honest the games look pretty nice. people are gonna see that the PS3 is still expensive, and one of the biggest selling points is delayed. I own a PS3 and I would love to see more people get one, but the news released here is not only disappointing to me, but what about the people saving their pennies to buy a PS3 when the prices are cut? And why focus on a controller with a rumblepak when there is an obvious lack in the games? So my question is this, when is Sony gonna focus on their losses and try to pump out the systems so the darn video stores actually have more than 10 PS3 games compared to the 50+ x-crock games, or how about the shelves of walmart, 44 x-crock games 7 PS3 games? oh! but we have a controller available that rumbles… perhaps its time for a sony rep to hand x-play a few bux to say something good about the PS3 system and games? sick of hearing them say 3 out of 5 for every PS3 game and the same game on x-crock rates a 4 or 5 out of 5. sorry bout the rant, but this news is bad and seriously made me think about selling my PS3 and spending more time with fishing pole… my final comment, PS3 focus is pwned by x-crock, come on people get yer head in the game!

  • The spring for PS3 will be great but you people have no patience. I would really like to know why everyone cannot seem to remember that the 360 didn’t have anything in it’s first year. Nothing. But that doesn’t matter because its in its 2nd year and has games now. Such short memories it’s pathetic. If there is still nothing for PS3 this time next year then yes, the PS3 is dead but right now it’s doing fine. I’m almost tired of coming here due to the rampant idiocy here.

  • #93 these people dont listen…. sony always put things back a hole year….if they want a holiday check they need 2 drop the price a couple hundred…..or keep eating halos dust ….ps3 has no fight right now…

  • I would love to get some information from Sony, this is just getting ridiculous. There are so many things that SCEA is slacking on.

  • you people who keep answering the no brainers need to stop it as it just gives them the attention they are so much craving..imagine what they are like and realize that there is no need to be defensive about your ps3 purchase. i was told by a war veteran many moons ago not to compare but to identify…when i go on the sony blog i identify with those that bought enjoy and talk about the games they play…the blue ray movies they watch….all on our ultimate PS3..fellow gamers go BEYOND like another guy said on the blog and ignore the naysayers…they are minor league..while we continue to play in the majors…warhawk…lair…heavenly sword etc.

  • You keep quoting flops. HS sucked. Lair sucked. Warhawk is okay but not AAA and that has more than its fair share of bugs, some rendering the game unplayable. It also has DRM issues that will stop most people from buing it on the PSN and the retail version is overpriced despite its included $10 headset. An educated consumer would know that the headset included is a POS, and doesn’t work well with the PS3, nor is it worth more then $20 bucks. It’s inclusion gives the illusion that Sony did some kind of Quality Control and nothing could be further from the truth.

  • I just want to know when i get to play the MGS4 demo?

  • You say others are playing in the minor leagues and your playing in the majors, are you kidding. Not one of our PS3 titles has broken 500k units, or even 250k units. There are more than millions of units sold for R6V, Gears or War and other 360 titles. Even the Wii 1st party games are doing well. You certainly can’t say the same about our 1st party games. While the wii is knocking them out with there 1st party titles, 3rd parties are starting to notice and are ramping up dev teams and production teams to step up there work on the Wii. We still can’t get our 1st party games right and are relying on 3rd party support that just aren’t convinced this is where they need to be.
