As Kotaku, Joystiq and others are pointing out, we’ve released a minor firmware update (version 1.92) for the PS3. This update focuses on some PS3 compatibility and playability issues for select titles. A search site for looking up compatible titles is also in the works, as soon as it’s live, I’ll publish a link to it here.
Update: The compatibility search site is now live.

To the guy dissing Lair above, no the game doesn’t suck. I own it and truly love it. Play it before you judge it. I almost didn’t buy the game because of the crappy reviews but I took the risk. It was worth it, the controls are dead on, the targeting hasn’t targeted one object yet I didn’t want it to and the framerate issues are pratically unnoticeable. The story line is amazing, the graphics are mindblowing *except in a few cutscenes* and if you have trouble doing a 180 turn you obviously are a noob to the controls in which are very easy and quick to learn. The game doesn’t suck at all, the reviewers really were hard on the controls for some reason , which is one of the reasons v 1.92 tightened the controls on Lair to better perfection. Play the game, rent it, ask a friend, I don’t care but when you do play it tell the world that the reviews are bull and that the game is great!

Ok i dunno what the firmware actually did…quite disappointing as far as i know.
As for Lair being a bad game…its not really that bad but its definitly not gonna make any 360 or Wii owners jealous. The controls are fine, like #258 Half_life000111 said “the targeting hasn’t targeted one object” he didn’t want it to and i agree.
Too much happening at one time to purely enjoy the game, its like a bad version of Dynasty Warriors lol. The ground fights are pretty lame tho. The game is definitly NOT worth buying because I rented it from Blockbuster Friday night and i’m on the last level today. I didn’t play it nonstop from Friday til today so its not exactly a long game.
BTW, If you can’t do the 180 turn, NO your not a Noob, sometimes you end up dashing or something else because between shooting fireballs and tilting the controller can make you f up the 180.
Definitly RENT it before you judge it. I did and thanks to the Blockbuster rewards card, I got to rent it for free :) Saved myself 65 bucks woohoo! Towards Heavenly sword…maybe. With how much I was expecting from this game…i would hate to have the same fate happen to HS.

Danke,
Only issue I still have is Lairs online leader boards locking the machine up hard.
Glad your working I really hated Sony this week.
You would think a huge organization would have a list of known issues and perhaps post fixes or at the very least an I am sorry for the crap we put you through this week ….

I have adlink and since i updated my PS3 i am having the same -problem others are experiencing but i really do not want to disable uPnP because i stream movies and other stuff using Nero media server. It transcodes .avi files to whatever the PS3 recognizes in this case mpeg 1, 2 and 4 so i can watch my videos on my big screen.
Please Sony resolve this isssue quickly. I really like Warhawk and i really hope i do not have to sacrifice streaming.

1stly, apologies to all those who posted after #33, i saw how far down the page i wasn’t and skipped ahead.
When i 1st downloaded the update i kept being logged out of PSN for an unexplained reason.
This does seem to have settled down now though, must have been server side.
I have to agree with may of you that a ‘Change Log’ should always be included and maybe a link to a more in depth one. IE.
“Improved Compatibility with PS2 titles” is what would have been nice. With a link to a list of the titles that have been improved, so we dont have to sift through all our PS2 games to find out if they play any better.
Anyway, thanks for the update, keep em coming.
My Wish List Top 6:
1 – HOME (obviously)
2 – Sub Folders – My game folder is a mess of Demos, and PSN Purchases
3 – Improved XMB access – From in-game and Internet so you can check some settings or pictures without having to exit the browser.
4 – Ability to change the XMB Icons.
5 – RSS
6 – Format Support (My PSP seems to be able to play more formats that my PS3

Patrick,
Please show some integrity towards the numerous posters and PS3 owners who do not own tvs that can accept 720p signals. Please account for this issue and let us know if a) is it even being looked and worked on?
b) what we can

We all need for 2.00 to be the one Sony. How about Ipod support?? 360 got it, so why not us?? Another hot topic is the video output converter. Like numerous of other people said honestley there are alot of people that have 480i/p and 1080i but no 720. I hate talking about the “others” but they have a converter to convert the game to the higest quality of your tv. I need this. My motorstorm sucks at 480! Please answer everyones questions. We all know what the 25th of Sept is so Sony give us something to weather the storm!!!!

I agree with frito. I was hype for Warhawk for weeks but ever since I got it I haven’t been able to enjoy the full experience because I had to disable my UPnP connection on my router and PS3 just to play it online. I had to do this due to the firmware 1.92 update which will not allow me to sign into the PSN or the Playstation Store unless i do. So basically I can’t use my bluetooth headset in any game because the UPnP is disabled causing my NAT Type to be at 3. So basically I need just as much help as frito and anyone else with this problem. And it would be great if I could get it.

sorry guys didn’t mean to go off topic here but didn’t anyone here find that when you updated your PSP 1000 to 3.7 and when you change your theme that the location free icon didn’t change too?
Thanks,
Lh
