Ratchet & Clank Future Developer Diary #4

22 0

For today’s dev video diary we’re talking with Giac (pronounced Jack). Giac Veltri that is. Giac is a tools programmer at Insomniac, working primarily on disc creation and localization. Which, come final time, makes Giac a very popular man at Insomniac with common inquiries of “where is the new build” and “why isn’t the game working in (insert language here)” filling his days. Giac is also a die-hard bowler.

In this dev video diary, Giac reveals how RCF’s demo was made, the tension of “going gold,” and how the game kept making him laugh even late in the development cycle.

  • When ask what he thinks about his job at Insomniac. He looks up and away. He is lying. Start looking to fill his position guys or give him a pay raise.

  • What a nice guy.

  • why is there never any posts on saturday and sunday?

  • @5:

Seriously? That eye roll is him saying “you gotta be kidding me with this question, there’s nowhere I’d rather be”. Sometimes adults react this way to absurd questions.

  • I don’t know if you guys have got it by now, but Gamespot is totally against you.
First they disagreed with 98% of the press on Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
    Secondly, they work for Microsoft.
Thirdly, they are posting your financial earnings and losses as the #1 headling news story in gaming.
They are trying brainwash consumers into thinking that the company’s game division is weak and is costing the company a fortune in order to stay in business which gives the idea that everything is just going wrong and that consumers should just stay away. Instead being angry, rejoice!!! Well, if we aren’t a threat, why then are you trying to hold back the company(SONY) if we pose no threat at all. I don’t care how much money Microsoft has, they aren’t and never will be the quality manufacturer that SONY has become over the years. Simply put, these guys don’t even compare. No reason to be angry, be happy that Microsoft is trying to hold the company down because it exposes their very real fears toward the PS3.
I will say this however, the sun is now starting to shine and we’re about to reap the benefits. I found it strange for them to report your financial state, but no other gaming site even cares. It’s all good, just continue your work as there is a lot of it to be done. Continue the good work.

    SONY…..Like. No. Other.

    the6one……..

  • @9 theone

GROW UP! It’s not like you are the only one to notice this, but in the end GameSpot made fool of themselfs by giving lowest score and they lost some credibility from gamers.

    So who cares!?

  • Ive been to busy to play ratchet, with my hockey tourney and all, ill make sure i get R&C before wednesday, and i know ill love it, because i love all insomniac games. Resistance is one of my fav games of all time. PS insomniac in about a month it would be a good time to show Resistance 2. Lets see some teaser or gameplay. Please, i know your making it.

  • yeah, scr3w Gamespot… IGN knows a good game when it sees one…

  • mind your own damn business….

I was not talking to you!

  • ratchet developers and sony congrats for this exlusive bestseller for ps3. for the ;life of me do not understand how some people think and also where thet get their ideas from and most of all what is the motive and or self interest to bash the way they do…especially the am erican blogs(no offense)..on some blogs there is so much misin formation…some even headlining the demise of playstation…get a grip…who believes this nonsense is ? do n ot they realize that sony is smarter tha n the average person…this average joe enjoys a good fight…mostly on a ps3.

  • please bear with me…believe this to be important…companies have writedown on their financial statement it doesn’t mean bankruptcy like some people are posting. in the early days of sony’s movie division that they had just purchased they had a major writedown and since then sony has had six consecutive years of one billion in sales and that is just box office receipts. what a web of misinformation bloggers/posters weave.goodnight and always good gaming

  • I just got the game today…. It is great so far.

I am surprised how fast you start getting all the weapons… there must be a ton of them. lol

  • This guy seems happy. Well, wouldn’t you be if you worked for the best damn development team there is? I’d still like to see Ted Price drop in here. He’s the coolest Kat there is in gaming…

Anyways, I’m a complete and total Gamespot conspiracy theorist and I believe Sony should drop them cold… Like real cold. Blackball city. No review copies of games. No exclusive interviews… Nothing. Make them work for it. Cnet owns Gamespot > Microsoft owns Cnet. Bias source of media.

  • Everyone knows of gamespots affilliation with M$. Its just sad that someone would degrade themselves and rate potentially the best game of the year low so it doesnt get recognition. LOVE THE GAME. Going to go back and play it right now. Bye!

  • Finally bought a PS3! Hell Yeah!!

  • Welcome to the community.

    THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!!

  • @ Globox82
