lol, don’t be daft. Of course this is a PR stunt. Every company on this planet has some kind of budget set for sponsorship and events. Doing such a event will give them some good PR value, and possible local or national spotlight attention. Resulting of course in more sales and better customer opinion of the company.

Especially in recent years, companies have become much more personal in there marketing. When done right it gives great customer loyalty and good press.

However it must be said that i much rather have this kind of event then the bazilliont corporate sponsored pro-sporting event.
Although i would hate to be one of those guys with a screen mounted on my back :) why is that anyway?

Wow, a whole 18 comments, I feel bad that there aren’t more people on here that can respect this kind of thing, this isn’t a marketing plug idiots, it’s just a company using money that we give them to do something nice.

I’d rather see this then a billion dollar campain.. thanks Sony ! I hope New Orleans get’s their people back, those who lost their houses and still can’t return home.

May’be for your next action give the kids of Iraq and afghanistan a nice day. or even better.. shout it out that what was and still is happening in N.O. and Iraq and Afghanistan… is just WRONG! Also like to see a warning on games like CoD and better screening online (and in shops) for kids buying/playing war games…

Very humble from Sony, unlike those other two “big” gaming companies that care only for money.
Don’t get me wrong, i know it is business after all and financial success is most important but it would be nice to see those other “two” do something like this, just for once.
