Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Demo Update

Won’t get too verbal, i hope, but just want to add my tick of disappointment. This is probably one of the most hyped games for this system. It’s a system which has sold more in quantity ‘outside’ of the US than it has in the US. Those people outside of the US – in my case Australia – pay twice the price for games, wait weeks in some cases months longer for releases, and sometimes miss out altogether in getting game releases locally (all the while, head office spouting about the benefits of ‘globalization’).

Would it have it hurt that much to have tested it on one console representing the nearly two thirds of all sold which don’t lie within the US? That this was an ‘accident’, a ‘bug’, i find hard to believe.

An enormous amount of buildup on a game worldwide, with the impending demo release hyped all over the net – and you expected noone outside of the US would be in line to download it because of an artificial layer of divide to prevent them getting to it? This also i find hard to believe.

To darkfiber, probably best to can it mate until you’re not in a position of power, and see how your own attitudes stack up first. Atm all you are doing is sitting on an imperial chair throwing contempt and scorn – albiet in a mellow mold – on that horrible ‘noise’ all the ’embittered peasants’ insist on making.

To whoever made this decision, it is one of contempt and arrogance and you know it. In isolation, and just being a 10 minute demo – fair enough, who cares. But these things build. It’s the constant, overall, superior treatment for North America – at the expense of everyone else – which goads. People have had a gutfull of it. The ‘bug’ excuse is, of course, rubbish, but if it’s a white lie that buys you time to undo this contemptous bit of nonsense, and hopefully figure out the immortality of it, so be it. Let’s all await the ‘bug fix’.

I hate being negative, but there’s only a certain number of times you can just sit there and smile and take it whilst being treated with what’s really contempt. And that is what’s being done to non-American’s with this price gouging, and delays, and lockouts and all the rest of the neverending nonsense.

Sorry, i know it’s all overwrought, but this whole thing… it’s just pathetic. People are tired of being divided into these artificial ‘zones/regions’ as a means of selecting the ‘favoured’ and ‘unfavoured’. It’s just ugly.

Yes, how rotten out people to step outside their designated ‘zone/region’. To think globalization meant the world.

Puffed up little upstarts they are. Get back inside your assigned backwater box.
