Hello again. To better illustrate new features in the forthcoming firmware update, we’ve created a quick video demonstration of some of the new features (shot using the PLAYSTATION Eye). Inside, you’ll see a quick run through of how Themes, the Information Board, Remote Start, and custom photo and music playlists work.
As soon as the firmware goes active, our System Software Update page will refresh to reflect all of the features found in firmware v2.00.

Here’s another thing I would like to see in a future software update:
8. On-screen keyboard should be have a option for a wheel style alphabet that would allow letter selection via the analog stick. And the directional pad when left or right is pressed a different selection “wheel” should slide to the useable position. Or even better would be a replica of the psp homebrew keyboard found here:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=23876
It is known as the Danzeff OSK.
Thanks! And keep up the good work :)

Hope someone at sony reads this post
about the remote play, its a really cool feature, but it has lots of bugs that need sorting. The important thing i wanted to ask is, is there any functionality between remote play, and the playstation eye?. for example can you access the eye via remote play?. for instance if you wanted to check the state of your house while you were on holiday, or what your kids are upto while your away. I think that will be very useful.

420 Samrican I am having the same DNS and system lock ups as you, Try turning off the Information Board. This seems to have helped me (knock on wood). I’m sure a patch will be on its way soon.

Sony, please sort out this really annoying problem when you change video settings (i do alot when switching between TVs in the lounge or bedroom) the theme automatically resets including wallpaper and font. The ‘Colour’ seems to stay the same though.

Y’know what I’d like? I’d like support for NTFS formatted HDD.
Also, with the latest news add on in 2.00, users should be given an option to pick news from which region they want to receive or else the thing is just deemed useless. It would be great to find out news from different regions.

useless when it comes to getting news from a different region where they bought the PS3 from when they live somewhere else

I have the 2.0 update and I noticed my PS3 has been locking up. The info bar has 3 circles each time it locks. To get around this, I just restarted and was able to quickly turn off the info bar. It locked 2 or 3 times and I had no locking issues prior.
My top requested features:
1. Flash player.
2. Better bitstream support so my receiver can decode.
3. Better explanation of features when delivered. When the PC media stream stuff came out it was rough trying to wade throught it all. I think writing more descriptions, and maybe some sample scenarios on the update page would be a plus.
Keep the updates coming!
ps. On the info bar, I’d rather have a small ticker going across the bottom that can show stock quotes, gaming news, top ten online gamers for games, or whatever. Right now I have to have it off anyway, so for me I guess it’s a mute point for now.

Yeah I second that. The info bar seems a bit buggy right now.
I also disabled it because made my PS3 a lot slow.
I dont want my precious machine lagging :P

@Eric Lempel – I have an idea that I want you to hear and pass on to everyone in charge at PlayStation…
I want to see the PSeye used in a more constructive manner. I love it and I want to utilize it as much as possible. You’re probably wondering what I mean by this. I’ve seen what the eye can do with the games that use it (trials of topoq, etc.) and i base this idea from what i saw in the video demonstatrions. I want to be able to control the XMB with the eye. think Minority Report. that would be amazing if it is possible. Please tell me that you have already thought of this and are possibly working to make it happen!
Cheers,
Lh

Yet, once again no fix for us 4809/1080i HD TV owners!!! I just bought a competitors HD TV for the family room due to this problem. This HD TV is not connected to my PS3. It was only $800. However, that is $800 Sony could have gotten. The HD TV my PS3 is connecte will be replaced in the next couple of months. That HD TV is going to be bigger and I will spend about $2500. Yes, due to the non-support of SONY, I will buy another competitor’s HD TV. That is a lot of money Sony is going to lose.
