Like a lot of people, I tend to get wrapped up in the annual end-of-the-year list-making madness. December always finds me laughing at The Soup’s Best of the Worst Countdown, agonizing over my top 10 albums (probably Peter, Bjorn, & John’s “Writer’s Block” at the top. Probably.), or seeing if I agree with the many Games of the Year features. In the spirit of convenience, sometimes it’s nice to just be able to look at a list and vote.
1UP has just such a setup with their 2007 1UP Awards. PlayStation titles are well represented through 13 categories, so let your voices be heard, Sony fans! The voting runs until Dec. 31, 2007, with award winners to be announced in February.
Among my personal selections: Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for Best Adventure Game, Jeanne d’Arc for Best Role Playing Game, Rock Band for Best Multiplayer Game (that was a tough one!), and Warhawk for Best Console Downloadable Game. Make sure you vote… and tell your friends to do the same!

I’m definitly gonna have to say Assassins Creed is on my list for something…btw…I have yet to have any freezing on mine PS3. When I rented Timeshift it had froze a few times tho…weird.

It was a tough call between God of War 2 and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. I ended up voting for God of War 2.
DRAKES FORTUNE IS A PRETTY GOOD GAME, I AM NOT DONE WITH IT BUT I WILL TONIGHT. WARHAWK ONE OF THE BEST GAMES FOR PS3 AND ONCE THEY RELEASE THE BOOSTER PACK……………..
AS FAR AS COD 4, IS A PRETTY GOOD GAME BUT IT IS MISSING A LOT OF THINGS SO I WILL NEVER BUY IT. I BELIEVE THAT BATTLE FIELD IS GOING TO BE WAY BETTER SO I RATHER SAVE THE $60 OF COD 4. I ALSO THINK THAT SONY SHOULD HAVE A PLACE TO POST THE COMING SOON ITEMS OF THE PSN STORE LIKE THAT I KNOW WHAT DEMOS ARE COMING OUT.
Warhawk is GoTY…I just Cant stop to play it. Cant Wait for Omega Down Expansion Pack…
I didn’t pick up a PS3 until this year, so my game of the year (that was released last year) goes to Motorstorm. No other game entertained me nearly as much this year (or last year for that matter).
uncharted ftw!!
Its a hard call for game of the year. COD4, Uncharted and Ratchet Future I played the most. With WarHawk following close behind them.
God of War 2 for game of the year, and warhawk runner up.
It’s so hard to pick between Warhawk, R&CFTOD and Uncharted… I feel like Sony gave me the 3 best games of all time within 3 to 4 months. It was hard but I went with R&CFTOD, folks. I simply love the game. Insomniac came thru for me a million times over and that had a lot to do with me picking it for goty… It won’t win, I know that… 1up has too many xbot box boys for it to win, but I jsut wanted Ted Price and the gang to know how much I loved their game.
Uncharted easily gets my vote for best Game of the Year. Honourable mentions to Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank and Call of Duty 4.
I hope the Everyday Shooter game wins in it’s category…what a great game!
Also, I think Uncharted or Heavenly Sword were the best of the best!

You should have bought the Blu-ray version with headset at launch when it was $40 ;)
Voted for Warhawk on a lot of those, truly one of the best games out there(3rd person for the win!).
Heavenly Sword gets the ultimate prize as game of the year.
The presentation value + gameplay value in that game surpasses anything I’ve seen this year….yeah even God Of War 2…which is tough for me since I love that game to death.
1up’s reviews suck ass though, they’re only good for news.

If it would have been for best shooter/FPS COD4MW would be my choice, forget about the online play single player rocks (especially Death from Above mission).

Game of the Year, Call of Duty 4, INCREDIBLE depth, detail, and playability. The game is ADDICTING Biggest Failure/Flop, Warhawk. Atrocious release, GLACIAL game developer support, and developmental oversights.

Warhawk just didn’t get enough credit
If Warhawk was fully functional out of the gate, maybe it would have gotten more credit. Its like a car leaving the showroom with 3 flat tires. What kind of accolades does it get? The fact that Hawk was released in that condition is a blackeye for INCOG and Sony. A potentially ground breaking game is reduced to an afterthought. What a shame.
Drake’s fortune is pretty sweet, also resistance ranks very high on my top list…
