The updates on the PSN is good, however PS3 users outside US( countries like India) cannot download the update patches of games(like warhawk – omega Patch) as the PSN Store is not online…could you please let us know when such initiative will be taken so that gamers in india can also download the game patches. if not soon what is the alternative to gettin the new updates for such games….and one last question….why exclude india in the first place….i dont get it…..

This update sucks bad. Two weeks no update and than we get this? Btw where is the firmware? ingame XMB, ingame music. Where is HOME? You guys are very very slow, especially with the ingame XMB.
Why is Call of duty 4 not working!!! It gives me some message saying the I need to be logged in to Playstation network…when i already am. is anyone else getting this. Or maybe just freezing on the Downloading Game Settings Screen???
Everyone notice the 360 has pretty much every game as a demo almost? PS3 has none hardly . It’s got barely any demos unlike the 360. I think it sucks. If there’s a game demo on 360 I don’t see why there isn’t it on the ps3. I find the 360 with a plethora of demos and videos etc in live yet the ps3 online sucks with barely any content whatso ever. and it even sucks more with no warhawk and bowling demo, :( nfl tour looks like crap anyhow. crappy game. nfl tour sounds from the name like you’d be a manager or something, not no stupid 7 on 7, what a freaking pathetic game. and how crappy 99.9% music in games are. all that crappy hip hop and stuff. game music itself is sometimes ok, but rarely.

What they need is to add the PS1 game ” The Legend of Dragoon”. I Swear that game would get a [DELETED] load of money considering the fact that the story is almost on par with Final Fantasy VII plus the combat is addictive…they need to just add that soon or something…it was made by Sony so why can’t they just put it out, i don’t care how big the download is (considering it was 4 discs) just put it out and then I’ll be happier then you’ll ever believe.

$0.99 Rock Band songs make me happy. Too bad I am only really interested in one of them. Hopefully, this will happen more often in the future.
Grace, I noticed the Japanese GT5 launch there and wondered what are the chances of Sony releasing an English language patch for GT5 Prologue when it releases in the States? Looking at the Playstation forums I know a lot of diehard GT fans have bought it off the Japanese store using PSN cards and it would be good PR to reward them for it.

Okay, taking off a weeks is cool because everyone needs time off and ALL the game websites did it.
BUT…no themes? no wallpaper? no theatrical movie thrailers? one scrap of a Japanese game trailer? Sure, you had added content for three games, but I don’t those games. So, the whole update was a bust for me. You need that theme and wallpaper SWAG each week folks.
To be honest, I’m just about given up on the Playstation Brand. Your store updates continue to suck all around.
You seem to be always playing “johnny catchup” with your features. DivX after the Xbox is the most recent one I can think of.
There are very little games out there and almost no 3rd party exclusives, hell, even the first party games aren’t all that great (Except Uncharted….that game is the bomb).
The PSN games are generally crap with a few gems in there.
There are no movies or music services. How much “Sony” material is on the XBoxLIVE service ? Quite a bit to my understanding, yet none on Sony’s own console.
No classic console games (PS One doesn’t count).
A very small selection of PSOne games.
No Home Open Beta
….the list goes on and on. I’m starting to believe that Sony has been blowing smoke up our proverbial butts.
When are Sony going to step up and provide the robust service they claimed before the launch of this behemoth system ? After 8 1/2 years into the “10 Year Cycle” ? I get more disgusted week after week….
I can’t believe how petty some people are in here. Always expecting something great each and every week. I think it’s unreasonable to expect that. There have been many good to great updates on the PSN Store and some not so good ones. That’s the way life is. Sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you don’t. The PSN is a lot of work and a lot of people put their sole into it. Maybe not all, but a lot. When you critisize the guilty you also critisize the innocent. Let’s try to be a little more civil and stop the threats of “I’ll buy an Xbox soon if this keeps up”. Go buy one then and be happy and leave the good people here alone.
My wish: Ability to invite people into a game I’m playing. If I’m in Warhawk I would like to message someone to come and join in without leaving the game. This has been asked for before but I thought I’d just add my name to the list. Politely. :)
The PS3 is an awesome machine. I hope all owners enjoy it as much as I do.
I just found you can see where your friends are playing in Warhawk then join the game from that same screen, really awesome. An invite would be sweet also but just tell your friends to find you..lol
Before I got my PS3 my wife wasn’t to supporting but now she see’s how much it does that she’s even suprised. (Web Surfing, streaming pictures/movies/music from other PC’s is sweet……..) It’s great to have all this access from one device in your family room.

I think I know what’s Sony’s plan for releasing GT5 Prologue. They are planing on releasing it during the 2008 Car show. LOL

Yes, its via the friends list in Warhawk, you can see where they are playing then press X ( i think) and it gives you two options to join game and something else.

When online in Warhawk, click “Community” then “Buddies” and you can look at the profile of each of your buddies, or if they’re in a game, it shows which game they’re in and will give you an option to join off them.
I’m a little disappointed in the update, I was ready to be wow’d with the first update of 2008. I’m disappointed at how many PSOne titles the JPN store has gotten compared to us, and at least one theme per week would be great.

Dude do you realize Home is going to have a ton of stuff, similar to an MMO? When you have that much stuff going on, you need to ditch some of the graphics in order to maintain good frame rates and minimize lag. WoW has millions of people playing. Their graphics aren’t like Half Life 2 or Crysis or anything. You’ll still lag when there’s enough people in 1 area. If it had completely modern graphics the game would be basically unplayable with all the lag.
To the people complaining at buggy games: The PS3 is one of the most advanced systems to date! When you get more advanced, more holes start popping up. No game will ever be flawless, that’s why patches exist. What sucks is when patches introduce more problems than they were supposed to eliminate (Battlefield 2, I’m looking at you…)
People are asking for the impossible on here. Warhawk demos? How would that work, 1 map or something? It’s not really feasible.
CoD4 patch? Hello, Sony does not control Infinity Ward. They can’t tell them to bump up a patch.
India? Complain to SCEI, this is SCEA’s site. Notice when you type “blog.US.playstation.com”
Yes the PS1 game selection is a little lacking on the US store. But Sony can only control Sony products getting to the store. It’s their business decision whether to post it. They also can’t force other developers to put their game online.
I agree that the .99 thing isn’t fooling anyone here. You’d have to make 100 purchases with values ending at .99 to get an even dollar amount again. That means a minimum of 100 purchases @ $.99
The prices look better ending in $.x9 but it’s just annoying.

Why does it take aeons to recieve PSone classics while Japan has a ton of them? There are so many titles im hoping will show up like Legend of Dragoon and it really bothers me that we get the shaft. Is it really that difficult, I know its not because Sony is trying to get them to work on both the PS3 and PSP because ive seen PSone titles that are just for PS3. Riddle me this Sony, we the people want to know why!

I love NFL, but think this new game is awful both performance-wise and conceptually. Also, a little over-the-top to call a came 2009 when you don’t even know the rosters for the 2009 season (at least Madden 09 will come out after the draft).
Anyway, pretty awful store update. I think a lot of us were looking at the EU’s new content from last week, hoping we’d get a few of their demos.

Anyway, I much prefer your innovative new titles that are so much more fun than replaying games I’ve played more than a year ago. Pain is an amazingly fun game! Most of the games from squaresoft you couldn’t go wrong seems most of the posters like Squaresoft (now squareenix) games. Even though FFVII fanboys can relax a little, the future is bright. Out of all games request if it is a list one or two games are from Squaresoft which has been a heavy hitter since day one. PSone games or some old school ps2 games like Marvel vs capcom 2. Think of the most popular games (ex. greatest hits) are the game most of us want or you could set up a monthly poll anything to get even more feedback from us.
Kind of surprised no in-game xmb rants or music while playing game rants seems things have calmed down so it seems to be a good new years start.
Do have a few request which is the Dark Knight trailer for the psn. I know batman begins was HD-dvd movie but the trailer for the dark knight is something you definitely could not go wrong by giving us.
Second request is notication of blu-ray movies that come out weekly. I was surprised to see the warriors came out on blu-ray and so on give us new and old movie releases even trailers in 1080p.
Last but not least come up with different “themes” or “templates” for the PSN allow the users to choose because many are not happy with the current template.

I just saw on G4 t.v. that sony is planing a paid online service!?!?!?!?!! WTF this the one and only thing we have over the Xbox. IF you take this away then i will have vary lil to no arguments on why to buy a PS3 over a Xbox.
And the fact that No one ever said anything about this when i paid $600 is the real clincher!! Yes you never said it would always stay free but you never said it wouldn’t ether and in some ways kinda made us think it would stay FREE.
If sony decides to do this it will be the worst move by this stumbling console to date. As is i was told by EB that they will never have RockBand for ps3 cause “No one has a PS3, Almost everyone comes in to our store is looking for Xbox.”
This in conjunction with the many many delays(i.e. Home,MGS4,Haze,Killzone) may just kill my favorite system.
And i must say the nerfs applied to Yellow dog linux with the recent updates,Even furthers my apprehension for the future of PS3.Now the only thing someone like me with out a degree in computer science can do with YDL is surf the dam net! And i can do that on my PS3 OS.
I have praised SONY as the guys not run by greed. And this has been my main selling point for the PS3, but if you go through with this plan and ask us to pay for a sub par online setup. I really wont know what to say anymore to promote PS3 over Xbox.
And if you do something like ask us to pay for in game XMB then all i can say is “IM OUT”!
Not that i will go buy a xbox cause i just cant afford it but i wont be telling anyone they should or should not buy a PS3. :((((

1. If I buy a psp game, will it play on a ps3 system? Dont ask why would I want that :), it’s for games that were made only for psp, and not ps1, ps2, ps3 (i.e. updates of final fantasy tactics)
2. Is there any way around it? Downloading PSP games from the online store on the PS3? Can they then be played on the PS3?

And the points you earn take to long to get them I still only have 35 badges and now ever since the new patch came out I can’t get my weapon badges this is so dumb where is the Xmb for our games and an instant chat service client! etc!.Boring!..lame my PS3 is so boring without some new stuff for it!

You must have read a biased report of the survey SCE (Asia/HK) put out. The question read something to the effect: “What would you like to see on the PSN Store (PC)?” One of the responses was “Unlimited downloads for a monthly fee.” This is not saying PSN will be a pay-to-play service. They were just seeing how many people would pay some amount per month to download and play all the PS1/PSP downloadable games from the PC store.
You know you can use YDL for more stuff, like emulators, word processing, and stuff like that. It’s not just for web surfing. I have Ubuntu 7.10 on my laptop, and I don’t have a CS degree.
Sorry for my comment I’m just angry at the way SCEA is handling War Hawk etc..But they seriously need to get rid of these stupid cheaters etc.And they need to improve the PSN network..It is lame as of now where is some old school PS games?.Like Battle Arena Toshinden, Final Fantasy 7 HD perhaps?..or All the Tekken games with improved graphics etc.in Blu Ray style?…Just something better then what we have now..I really didn’t even like it that PAIN and High Velocity Bowling didn’t have a Online feature!..Now that was a dumb idea!..And then they charged $10.00 bucks for that download?.The same went for Tekken Dark Resurrection costing you $30.00! Crap Sony pure crap!..they need to drop there high costs for downloads..Especially TDR!..that to me is a Ripoff!..
