CES Day 2: The PlayStation Presentation

Jeff Rubenstein's Avatar + Posted by Jeff Rubenstein on Jan 08, 2008 // Sr. Social Media Manager

Our stated goal of blogging from CES was to try and replicate some of the feel of the show for those of you who couldn’t make it to Vegas. This video should help. Mere minutes ago, this LittleBigPlanet video debuted at the PlayStation presentation, so only a couple hundred people in the world have ever laid eyes on it.

So what do you think? For a higher-res version, click here.

Shortly after posting yesterday’s LittleBigPlanet video, I ran into a couple of guys, Pete and Leo, who were at CES from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in Liverpool. They were all too happy to share this video with the readers of the PlayStation.Blog. Thanks guys!

Thanks Sony for leaving 90% of PSP userbase whithout Skype.

Is that your new strategy to marketing the new Slim model?

Once more early buyers were screwed :(

i just wish they’d shut up about this LBP, didn’t they learn from the UK ps3 launch that you can over do the hype and people lose interest.

media fatigue!!

why not showcase some stuff that’s coming out this quarter?

@jackgeaven – STFU!

the reason it’s not on the psp phat is because it doesn’t have enough memory to run the software and the xmb at the same time.

get over it, Skype sucks anyway, have you even ever used it?

Thats [DELETED], there are several devices with less then 32mb ram that runs skype or skype-alike applications.

There are online-games for PSP with voice-chat!

In Japan Sony also launch the Tv Tuner only for PSP Slim, even DS as a Tv Tuner for god sake !!

It’s not because of skype, its because of this
arrogant policy from Sony.

I used and still use it… north america doesn’t use it that much but everywhere else use it… and is one of the best messengers out the and the best with video and voice quality. A lot of companies use skype too for long distance calls. Everyone will not scream for it in the phat psp if it will a bad product.

“Yes, the big news today was that LittleBigPlanet now features an in-game death system, clearly an effort to spice up the platforming aspect and give it an element of danger. When a Sackboy hits a fiery chasm, or is crushed under a moving block, he flies off the screen and has to sit out momentarily. ”
