Introducing Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds

Yes folks, I’m happy to say that there is a new Hot Shots golf title coming to North America this March for the PLAYSTATION 3. I want to introduce you to Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds.

Introducing Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds

Working on this title has been tough. Imagine my situation: it is sunny and warm here at SCEA Santa Monica. The sun is shining through the office window with a hint of Pacific blue off in the distance. A typical perfect day to be out hitting the links, but alas, there’s work to be done – c’est la vie.

By work, of course, I mean play Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. If we can’t hit the real links, why not get some time on the virtual ones?

As many of you may know, the Hot Shots Golf franchise has had many a player hitting the green for some of the most fun and wacky golf action around. Now for the first time, we are bringing this franchise to the PS3 for some next-gen golf goodness like you’ve never seen before.

So over the next few weeks I and several others on the team will be giving you a rundown of the new features you’ll find in Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds as well as detailed info on the new shot mechanism, nifty soundtrack, new characters, game tips, and online play. We’ll even have some behind the scenes info on Clap Hanz (creators of the Hot Shots universe) so keep an eye out for more news coming from our side. Until then I’ll leave you guys with a few screens…wait, I think I hear my tee time calling…

Thanks for the update.

Can you tell us why it takes for long for a game such as this, to be release in regions outside of Japan?

I can’t think of anything but language problems, but if it’s taking this long for language conversion then someone needs to replaced.

A little haste in releases of popular games will do nothing but good for everyone.

I was blown away when I first saw these screens many weeks back. I see them today and…

I’m still blown away. Stuned. It looks amazing! I have never purchased any of the Hot Shots games. This new installment, though, will be my first. I gotta have it.

Just GOTTA have it.

Chris, thank you for the update of this amazing title. Can you confirm if any visual improvements were made for this title over the Japanese release (I have the demo)? Specifically, was the slight shimmer of the graphics improved?

How did you guys download the demo?

I just wish that they would stop messing with titles…
Everybody’s Golf is a great name…
we rename because it sounds better (insert slang word here)? – guess what “Hot” is not anymore.

but yeah the game blows my mind – love it to pieces

There are many others that can’t wait as well. We’ve been playing 3-4 different format leagues consistently on HSG4 for the past four years, included compiled stats, brackets, and just plain fun. There will be leagues forming as soon as the much-anticipated release happens. http://www.hsgworld.com

Can someone tell me where I can find a demo of this game. I have every hot shots golf that has come out and this series is one of my favorites. A for sure buy for my household. Please let me know where I can find the demo.

I bought the Japanese Minnano Golf 5 (or Everybody’s Golf) from yesasia.com and have been playing it for a while….The graphic is stunning! And one more important change made in the new edition is that there’s another mode of hitting the golf ball. It makes you feel more like ‘swinging’ the club and it’s tough to master at the beginning but it’s more fun once you get used to. Make sure you get one for yourself!!

I really hope that 1080i/p will be the native resolution or at least it can be upscaled to 1080i.

I woud love to play this game at 1080i or 1080p. It’s a shame most game developers don’t see the value of allowing thier fans to play thier games at the highest quality possible.

Please, for the love of this game, do not change the original character designs. If you guys feel you must ADD new characters, fine. My biggest complaint about the hotshots games are that the localized characters we get just kind of stink compared to the original Japanese release. I was ecstatic the the first psp version was largely left alone (I fear what will happen to the 2nd version). Please tell me you have turned over a new leaf and decided to leave the original character designs as they are.

The demo was on the Japanese store last Spring but is no longer there.

The demo is now available on the English PS3 store. It is titled as Everybody’s Golf with a subtitle I can’t remember. So create a new user and a new store account for somewhere in England and go get it!

It’s amazing and I can’t believe I’ve had to wait so long to get my hands on it.
