Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz Contest Answers, New Trailer

+ Posted by Rob Alvarez // Product Marketing Manager

Calling on all aspiring actors, producers and film directors … get your star studded trivia hat on cause it’s time to get buzzing! This is Rob Alvarez, Product Marketing Manager for the Buzz franchise. Hopefully, you had a chance to check out the 80th Academy Awards last night, which took place at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. In celebration of the awards and the upcoming March release of Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz, we’ve had some pretty cool stuff going on within the Buzz world.

Last week at GDC, we held a Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz charity challenge where 16 players from a number of different media outlets including Joystiq, Destructiod, GamesRadar, CNet, TotalPlayStation.com and others competed for a donation to the charity of their choice. Sam Bishop of TotalPlayStation.com took home the prize with his ultimate Buzz skills and made his donation to the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Thanks to everyone who participated in the quiz contest a couple of weeks back. Answers are below to the Hollywood Quiz questions featured in the contest.

Winners have been notified, so congrats to those who took home prizes! As soon as all the necessary paperwork is complete, we’ll go ahead and post the names of the winners. Last but not least, we wanted to share with you a new game trailer for Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz. We hope you enjoy it. On March 11th get ready to experience the ultimate game show, live in your living room: “Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz.” Stay tuned!

Well, let’s count the number of People who will be banned. 1, 2, 3, 4…

THough, I’m torn between the bLatant disregard for the off-toPic rule, and tHe show of love for the BIg Guy.

I’m gLad “THATPSPGUY” is such a gracious loser. -_- I’m also glad I didn’t take the time to try this as there’s really no chance I would’ve won. Congratulations to the winners, desPite tHe lack of any real knowledge save how to use the Internet. Laters.

(Catch the secret message? :P )

I hear people like this in Europe, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves here, we (America) are not the center of the universe (Sony).

@35 bond2e2
Well great if true, Atari is in some deep trouble. They 10x’ed their shares and now they’re dropping below the requirement to stay on the NASDAQ. Hopefully they’ll bounce back.

I got number 2 wrong, WHO DOES THE ‘TRUFFLE SHUFFLE’?

I thought it was Phil Harrison. You know, the guy who just quit as head of Sony Worldwide Studios after spending 15 years with Sony. Odd that there is nothing on the blog about it.

Dang, I only missed one (#8). Though it was “Moby - Porcelai”.

Oh well, thanks for the diversion!

I don’t think you’ll find anything about Phil’s resignation here.. it’s not usual where a corporation will want to highlight resignations.

Alright! Looks like some clean-up was done. :D Thank you, Masked Janitor. :P

And, at what point was there a karaoke bar in Lost in Translation? I do remember a bar of…ahem, ’sorts’, but I don’t remember the karaoke one.

Jeigh: I don’t recall exactly when in the movie it occurred, but didn’t one of her Japanese friends sing ‘God Save the Queen’ by the Sex Pistols? This was I believe a different bar then the one frequented by Bill Murray’s character and occurred earlier in the film.

I got Buzz Mega Quiz on the PS2, it’s some pretty fun stuff. It would be cool if there was more than just these PS2 versions though. Like a PSP version you could play ad-hoc with each other, and then a PSN/PS3 version perhaps? (PSN for people who already have the controllers)

#10 is totally wrong. the elephant man didn’t even win an oscar for best make-up.
