Since you are the graphic artist for the PS Store I was wondering if you could comment on the “rumored” upcoming re-design of the PS Store. It is currently being advertised on the store anyway so anything you could add would be great.

I’d just like to raise some awareness on the subject, since this specific section of the PSBlog makes mention of Rock Band DLC. The latest Rock Band “update” SEVERELY DAMAGES the audio quality/fidelity of the microphone input/vocal output on the PS3 version of Rock Band. (It now sounds weak, high-pitched, and distorted.) Harmonix and EA are currently half-acknowledging this … but fans of Rock Band (especially those who enjoy singing vocals) need to spread the word. HARMONIX / EA – GET A NEW NEW PATCH OUT TO PS3 USERS. NOW. please. thank you.

Did I mention that Sony Corporation is the best coporation known to man. Sony, Sony, Sony……. We have laughed together and cried together; our relationship has stood the test of time. A lot of people criticized me for sticking with you even though you guys screwed up a bunch of things. But in the end, the statement still stands and resonates within our hearts, and that is….that this corporation is like.no.other. Sony, all I can say as a hardcore fan and consumer of this great conglomerate corporation is……I can’t wait for what is to come in the future. Our Bravia HDTV entertainment systems are like no other on the market. Sony, Sony, Sony. What can I say, I love Sony! One of the best and most comprehensive entertainment companies on planet earth. Blu-ray will be standard as we head into the future and playstation 3 (what a story!) will become market leader for computer entertainment. Playstation is a brand that is only just beginning! PSP (amazing hardware for a handheld) is definitely coming up! What’s next Sony? I can hardly wait. Maybe SOE (Sony Online Entertainment) will finally take a legitimate stab at the competitions online services. I’d say that PS3 is on its way to becoming market leader just like its predecessors PS2 and PS1. Good luck, Sony. I hope that when I get married some day that you guys are at the forefront of living my room. By that I mean, I want to own a Sony PSP, hooked to my Sony PS3 which is hooked to my Sony 32′ Bravia HDTV, which is connected to my Sony surrond system which is also connected to my Sony Vaio, which is also connected to my Sony Headphones, which is connected, so forth and so on……..

SONY…….like. no. other.

I would like to know one thing:

Why is GT5 Prologue the same price on the store as on a blue ray disc???? When if you buy it from the store you don’t pay the blue ray, you don’t pay transport, you don’t pay printing/copying the discs…. Then why the hell is it the same 40 euros on the store as on a blue ray disc???

And also Sony, you have changed the payment mode, now you can buy something with just two clicks without being asked if you want to pay, and a lot of people just looking around the store have bought the GT5 having the version on blueray already!!! So they have paid 40 euros for one, and 40 euros for the other, just because you have changed the payment system and now it doesn’t tell you that you are going to pay like before.

Also, the European store is crap! I compare it with the other stores, and what Sony puts on our store compared with the rest is crap. We usually get things the last (Pain was just put up last week, when I already had it from the USA store from 3 months ago). This is something I don’t understand, so I just download things from the other stores, when I should just have the same in the European store.

And one more thing: Where are all the ps1 games?? Had none for ages!! And for one that I wanted (castlevania) I had to download it from the USA store because it isn’t even on the European store! Where are the resident evils, metal gear, etc that is on the japanese store?? I would have downloaded them from the japanese store if I knew the language of course, but they should be on the European store too.

Anyway, the European store still is crap.

I think this is a killer update! But for the record can we get the fallowing PSP games to have Demos for them on the PC Store:

RPG games:

Final Fantasy Tactics: War Of The Lions
Final Fantasy: Crisis Core
Wild Arms: XF
Monster Hunter Freedom
Monster Hunter Freedom 2
Jeanne d’Arc

Raceing games:

Sega Rally Revo
Jucied2: Hot Import Nights
Burnout Dominator

Platform games:

Daxter
Rachet & Clank: Size Matters
Crash of the Titans

Flight combat sim games:

M.A.C.H.
Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception
Heat Seeker

Real Time Strategy games:

Field Commander
R-Type Command
Steel Horizon

Special Request:

KIllzone: Liberation
Armored Core: Formula Front

If you would get these demos in the next few PC store updates, as well as the fallowing for the PS3 here:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
UT3
Dynasty Warriors: 6

Do all of this and I think both stores will be in great shape. IMHO Most people like to download demos of games first before they go and buy them so they can find out if it’s worth the money or not. There is a major lack of demos on the PC store right now, and the PS3 Store is lacking some demos of the newer games. Sure we got Turok but it was kind of a hit or miss game.

Also where are our PSN cards!?

You\’re in luck as a demo for R-Type Command has just been released on the PC Store as you can see by reading the list of new content.
Demos are made by the developers of the titles and not by PSN, so if you would like a demo for a particular title, let them know and, hopefully, you\’ll see it up on the Store someday.
Please keep in mind that demos for each and every title is not always possible due to the type of game or size of development team, so please have some patience and understanding with your wishlists.
Also, I have to waggle my finger at you for requesting demos for Jeanne D\’Arc, Daxter,
Rachet & Clank: Size Matters, and Call Of Duty 4 – those games are all amazing games and tops in their genres – no demo is really necessary. If you like those genres, you\’ll love those games. ;)

The great thing about Warhawk is that it\’s a fun game with many different ways to play:
    - Love flying and shooting? Hop in a Warhawk or Interceptor or the new drop ship and rain fire from above.
    - Love driving and shooting? Hop in a jeep and have fun running people over or demonstrating land superiority in the tank.
    - Love 3rd person shooters? Go it on foot and level the playing field with a bunch of different weapons.
Honestly, the game is so much fun, tons of ways to play, and the team is so passionate about making it an ongoing amazing online experience.

Will there be price cuts on psn games?

Will there be more psn bundles like there is for Flow and Blaster Factor in the future? Cause some games you have to buy the game and add on content separately.

Are there going to be Greatest Hits for the PS3 in the future?

We have offered special offers for many of our great PSN exclusives, and currently, we\’re offering the downloadable version of Warhawk through the Store for a special price for a limited time.

As for bundles versus Add-Ons, it\’s all about having options.
Bundles are a great way for people who might have missed some games when they first came out to pick them up with even more content offered to them.
Add-Ons will continued to be offered for those who bought the games when they first came out to add even more content to their games without forcing them to re-buy the full game just to get the new content.

As for PLAYSTATION 3 Greatest Hits, I can\’t answer that as that\’s not something that I\’m involved with. Also, I can only try to address topic related questions.

Can anyone comment on ANY the following:
1) Will we be seeing a similar pause in content delivery in the US?
2) Will the US version of the store interface be graphically identical to the PAL store – which released screenshot samples to Eurogamer?
3) Will US get the store upgrade at the same time as PAL region (whenever that may be)?
4) Will the new upgrade require new firmware?
5) Any insight into the “special surprise” alluded to by SCEE and will US receive the same prize?

And as far as PS1 Games go i dont care about what some other country is getting or not America is supposed to be a free country There shouldnt be anything we cant have if we want it and i understand about releasing content in its home country thats cool but when their content out numbers ours 10 or 20 to 1 thats not a translation problem or a region problem thats a not getting of your [DELETED] problem. Micro[DELETED] had twice the content we do at this time in the Xbox please fix mes life span. This not a Rant im just venting concerns now that somebody might actually answer. To Be honest the Psn has come a ways in the last couple weeks im seeing more stuff in stores and there are some good titles (that you prolly wont confirm until whenthehellever)coming out one of these days, you are also talking to us more(starting last week lol i hope that doesnt change)so no more runarounds and vague answers ,and silent treatment. I bought my PS3 and PSP for GAMES and content That you all have said were comin with it now i know you didnt anounce specifics on most of it but why say the PSN was gonna have downloadable content like classic games and only release a handful in the first year and a half??? (Billion Dollar Corp+Talented people=Stuff getting done= our moneys worth in a timely manner.Another Thing concerning PS1 Games ill tell ya a great way to speed the process of converting the language ……you ready??……. USE THE AMERICAN RELEASE!!!!!!! How about that, its already using OUR LANGUAGE Make your Controller and Package changes and its ready for release on PSN A good Hacker could have it done in less than 5 hours and thats taking your time ….and About the Demand for it (ur response from a few articles above) How are ya gonna know who wants it if you DONT RELEASE IT??? seems to me like releasing the PS3 was a Gamble and its doin alright so far there is no possible way to know before hand whats gonna sell otherwise the PS3 would be in the lead now wouldnt it (BTW its still 3rd The ps2 still sells more.If Either of you cannot answer my concerns put me in touch with someone who can ( i would use the E-mail Route but i dont like getting hokey and VERY vague replies stating sumthing about what sony can and cannot answer, and feel free to get pissy right back at me atleast then ill know

Wow. Talk about a lengthy and passionate response.
Please note that there are many factors besides language involved in putting title up on the store.
I addressed the concern you share with others regarding PSone Classics, so I\’d recommend reading what I previously replied. Hackers may be able to do it \”in less than 5 hours\”, but they also don\’t ensure that all of the people who created the game get compensated either.

As for the perception of secrecy, it\’s a double-edged sword:
    - Tell people too soon, and you run the risk of making them feel like they\’re waiting too long.
    - Don\’t tell people, and they feel like they\’re being excluded.
Applications, games, and firmware are incredibly intricate with millions of lines of code to go through, test, and debug before shipping. Therefore, it\’s better to check and double-check that every thing works than to release something that\’s inferior or that breaks a system, and no one wants to that to happen.

Thanks again for your impassioned post. I hope that these answers addressed your concerns and gave you some perspective and insight in to the intricacies behind the scenes.

That makes sense lol .i did read your previous comments ..anyway the secrecy thing i have to agree with ,it just feels that as a PS3 owner were just sitting behind then again come to think of it i dont recall anything ground breaking for the other systems so i guess were actually getting the better deal …with Home and other stuff coming out. Believe it or not im actually really patient it just bugs me to no end not knowing what im waiting for its not the wait that gets me,I look forward to every thursday and it just seems that every week its the same thing ..Hopefully that will really start to change with the Store update. To ME thinking about all the stuff to look forward to makes it ALOT easier to wait for it cuz atleast then i know its coming …but the point about some people not being happy with that makes sense so i guess i cant fault u guys for that.Pretty much all i really want right now is some good solid info and some confirmation on the really badas* stuff comin to the system…and if my previous comment sounds like a rant its not im just REALLY curious about whats been goin on …so thanx for the response and thanx before hand for the Store update i cant wait to try it out . TTYL

Next time someone complains about a PSN update:

look what they do to fill their updates – pay for themes (thank you sony for allowing us to make our own) and picture packs.

Noel, I really appreciate that you and some of the others with SCEA are on here responding to our comments. It’s a good FIRST STEP. What’s really needed though is a feedback forum. I mean, I understand that there’s a lot you can’t directly comment on, but how about passing the issues/comments/questions that YOU can’t comment on to the people who can AND (this is the important part) getting them to provide an answer? Are the right people even hearing any of this anyway? I mean, SCEA isn’t the government. There are no state secrets here. Let’s have more dialogue with the customer base, eh? Still, like I said, it’s great that you guys are doing the amount that you ARE doing… but why wait until one of your competitors does it better to improve? Why not be better leagues than everyone else from the get-go and FORCE everyone else to step up? Why not commit fully to providing the best service that you can? Sony isn’t a small company with limited resources. Everyone in the world knows Sony… and I think that’s part of the reason so many people are getting ticked off about the “dipping our toes in the water” approach to PSN content: you have the ability to be better (as, apparently, the Japanese store proves) and provide as much as possible… to fully commit… so why don’t you?

I will understand if you don’t or can’t answer most of this, but some kind of response will still be appreciated.

I thought Warhawk was on sale through today?…04/15/08. I tried to buy it yesterday, but the store was down. I finally get in today and it’s back up to 39.99. What gives?
