Has ANYONE actually received a response from Sony after posting here. I posted here and elsewhere requesting a firmware update that would FINALLY enable dual optical/hdmi audio on the PS3 (just as Xbox 360 allows). Silence. Now I'm demanding it. I'm sick of Sony not giving attention when/where it's due. Fkn' respond, Sony.

As Amber558 after installing Upgrade 2.20 I can no longer play any disc. I installed upgrade this morning, everything was ok. After that no more movies, DVDs or games can be played.

Any advice?

Few more things :
-Prepaid cards for PSN /not all countries are covered by PS Store, and not every one wants to use credit card for online payment/
-Movie and music rental downloads /of course not 1080p/
-Some universal PVR add on /dvb-t,s,c/ - just a wish but possible one
Sorry for the mistakes in the above post but [DELETED] happens ;-)
When all this happens /it must/,we could proudly ask everyone else "Well what do You have by Yuor TV !?!".

Hello everyone
By far I am very plesed with the PS3 as whole, but there are few thing that must be sorted out:
1.better video compatibility /divx,xvid,h264,mov,mp4/
2.containers /most impotant MKV/
3.subtitles /sub,srt,txt/ without conversio and embedding
4.SACD multichannel /I own 100+ and by far I'm very disappointed with the issue since it can be done/
5.Folders and subfolders management and creation by owner, because available options now are terrible
6.Skype
7.Decent Internet browser and downloads/even now a lot of issues and glitches/
8.RSX in Linux
9.Bravia Theatre Sync
10.DTS-MA and DD-THD bitstream or internal /via HDMI/
So to sum up,having in mind who is SONY,and that they employ about 5000 people in R&D there must not be a problem to dedicate 1/10th of them to sort out the above most obvious problems. If SONY does it by the end of summer /maybe they are working already/,and fix the after bugs by October - November, they'll be outselling Wii and 360 combined by twice.I hope someone in SCE Japan is actually reading this rows since this is the objective of this blog and I'm not fond of Japaneese to write to the J-site.
Best regards to all and keep enjoy your PS3,future is in Our hands, someone /SONY/ just have to make it happen !

One other thing..... The Sony browser is less than something you would expect from a company like Sony and especially on a powerhouse like the PS3. Why not use "Opera for devices" ?

I have an Archos (see http://www.archos.com/products/gen_5/index.html) which uses Opera and it is a fantastic browser....

....come on Sony give us Opera.... Btw, if you're really into pissing Microsoft off, here's another way to do so !

Amber says in post 367 that with the new update her movies don't play..... In addition to what I said in post 374, I'm seeing a lot more unsupported file type - but how could that be, mine are either in DIVX or xvid. Wonder if it's something with the streaming???

It seems that firmware update 2.2 has caused some problems (at least with my setup). Prior to updating streaming a movie from my computer started with 5-10 seconds of clicking on the movie. Now it takes about a minute before the movie starts playing.

In addition prior to the update the movie would play start to finish without any problems. Now it stalls, pauses, whatever you want to call it quite often and then resumes (most of the time it only lasts less than a second (however sometimes longer)). That is very annoying.....

Anyone else experienced this?
