no wonder why phill left, he must have known how bad the ps3 was goin 2 get after sony won the format war. bluray was probably the only reason for the ps3’s existense and we fell into sony’s trap.

Youlikeyams  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:38 pm

HanSolo, you shouldn’t badmouth the US Store.
Have a look at the European store and you’ll feel spoilt rotten.

In fact, here’s a link!

@Money1

Are you a Sony rep? LMAO. “No room for improvement”. Classic.

54

jondy1703  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:39 pm

Is there any chance of seeing HD video podcasts (or podcasts at all) in the PlayStation Store?

55

SwordOfWar  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:40 pm

For those who want echochrome demo…

Make a PSN account for Hong Kong (there is english language option) and download it from their store. The demo is in english.

Sony, the natives are restless, believe me. You all have done an excellent job in the wake of the format war, pricing, sku options, game offerings, etc. Even MS is looking at adopting blu-ray in earnest now http://www.n4g.com/industrynews/News-119808.aspx

All we ask you guys is that you please take this opportunity to release something of great import onto the PSN for *all terriories. Your largesse will swell even further beyond imagination and you will have a legion full of happy patrons.

USA: RocketMen
JAPAN: Echochrome
EU: Disappointment (again)

What are you playing at Sony?? Why treat your most successful market so badly?

58

your mother  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:50 pm

So let me get this straight, the UK store gets a new wipeout HD trailer. The Japanese store gets an ENGLISH demo of echochrome, and the US store gets…neither???

Can someone please explain this to me. Sony doesn’t restrict US ps3s from accessing overseas stores, and thousands of Americans download free content from those stores. So what possible reason is there -other than possible game release date differences- to not put either of those pieces of content on the US store?

I mean seriously, this update is better than last week’s, but it’s still total crap. What the heck is going on in your PR department? Do you think not responding makes your customers happy or angry??

59

psmgamer  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:53 pm

The last PS1 game that we got was Jet Moto 3 which was a few weeks ago. I am starting to see that Sony is not releasing any more PS1 games on PSN. I know that the esrb website list Castlevania Chronicles, Rayman, and Street Fighter Alpha as coming soon to PSN in the future. Why not bring these games to PSN. I would like to see a PS1 game everyweek if that was possible. Maybe the update to the playstation store in April will see big changes.

60

CurryUdon  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:56 pm

As long as Grace is in charge of the u.s. store, I would not hold out any hope of things getting better on a consistent basis. Its increasingly obvious she either does not listen or does not care (probably both) what the community wants.

61

Zorox  |  March 6th, 2008 at 1:58 pm

More garbage content. Xbox Live crushes PSN, no questions about it.

62

Money1  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:04 pm

@54 LOL dude my bad, no room for improvement..haha that made me laugh, must’ve been typing to fast, there is ton of room for improvement but sony seems improving, again sorry for the mistake….not a sony rep

63

HanSolo  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:06 pm

i hope grace gets fired, dear grace you are doing a very bad job and instead of improving you get worse, hopefully someone with better skills gets your job

64

StalkingSilence  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:06 pm

I signed in just to rate the post – i think it’s a great post considering it tells us what’s being released. Why are people rating it low just because developers haven’t given Sony much content for the store?

And I also wanted to say for every 1 person on here with a baseless negative comment, there are several more of us who are satisfied with content and don’t feel the need to comment about it every week.

65

HanSolo  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:10 pm

there are no excuses for the absence of ps1 games, have you seen the japanese ps1 games on the psn??
they are doing their job, in the us, the people in charge are not doing their job properly
colony wars, gt2, gt3, metal gear, diablo, doom, dark forces… all ps1 games that sony ( well whoever is in charge ) could put on the psn, the community has been asking for ps1 games forever, were are they?? and why arent these senior and junior managers not listening??

66

Crimson_Ryan  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:24 pm

Could have been better. This was only better than last week because of the demo.

67

NewYork214  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:26 pm

this is a good update. i hope next week there is a condemned 2 demo. i know they had a demo for the first one on the broken console. o well going to try rocketmen demo

68

CyberChrist  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:27 pm

Does anyone at Sony look at the revenue coming in from different regions? Resident Evil 1&2 have been on Japan’s top 10 download list for months now. The revenue’s there for the taking Grace. Let’s get these on our PSN.

69

scorpio  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:29 pm

Echocrome is cool!!!!

70

infamous_31  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:30 pm

once again, no ps1 games…just lame updates. And once again, no news about the stuff we want, sony just keeps us in the dark like always. Seems like sony only cares about the people who havent purchased a ps3.

71

Gregero  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:48 pm

some classics like Parasite Eve, Resident Evils, Final Fantasies, MGS, and others would be real nice to buy. When will we get good PS One games? Never? I thought so…

72

THATPSPGUY  |  March 6th, 2008 at 2:51 pm

A good, better but still not great update. one game for th epsp and ps3? ftw? Come on peeps. can’t we have like 2 demo’s per week and more psone games released. I know you want my money but it doesn’t seem that way to me……

I sure hope the BLOG is going to cover next week march 14th about you know what…….

73

Slimer  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:02 pm

Please, for the love of God, give me a reason to turn on my PS3 on Thursdays for the updates. If I were in charge of this project, I would guarentee atleast one PS3 game demo, and one PS1 downloadable game EVERY WEEK! Email me if you would like a resume.

74

gardea  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:08 pm

What’s up with the American PSN updates….

75

C-h-a-o-s  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:14 pm

@ Slimer # 74

I would petition you to get fired, you left out us PSP users. No PSP demos. shame shame.

76

Snap  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:39 pm

Glad I’m not the only one asking for more PSOne games… *taps foot*

77

gamerforlife  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:39 pm

78

Zorox  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:43 pm

It’s strange. Every week it’s the same thing, crappy content, no information, and no feedback from anyone.

I at least expected that Sony would use the comment section to see what people want, but it’s like they don’t really care.

79

gamerforlife  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:49 pm

good content its greatly appreciated thanks for the rokcetman axis of evil demo, condemned wall papers, lost planet theme, will smiths upcoming super hero movie trailer,21 trailer hopefully next week we get at least 1-2 ps3 regular game demos condemned 2,turning point, army of two or something else if not its all good thanks for this free service keep up the good work there are good days there are bad days but its always free :) stay up peace

jm1080  |  March 6th, 2008 at 3:54 pm

wow, sony are you fn ****** damn you people need to get your act straight, I would curse so much right now, but I cant unforunately…. What the hell is up with rockband crap, not everyone plays that crap. And 1 demo?! of some game that no one ever heard of?!, no ps1 games, no nothing to buy. You guys are losing people that want to actually buy stuff, but you cant! because the PSN store SUCKS!!!!

This deserves NO STARS! Why bother having a PSN store? It is useless…. stop filling the PSN store with useless crap like rockband and get some decent stuff in there.

lmao @ #82

87

Bender Rodriguez  |  March 6th, 2008 at 11:10 pm

Wow I just read through some of the comments on here for the first time extensively. There are some immature people here.

I may not be happy with a lot of the updates sometimes, but constructive criticism would probably reach them a lot quicker than “Sony you ***** suck why don’t you guys ever give us anything good? No wonder so and so is winning. etc etc.”

88

Bender Rodriguez  |  March 6th, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Also I know my pointing out the immaturity will change nothing. Next week if the update is crappy again the same type of comments will be posted. I just had to state my opinion.

89

nick2409  |  March 6th, 2008 at 11:16 pm

Every week the same lame update for Europe! I think I will delete my EU-account!

But yeahh, there is the Hong Kong store, Japan store and of course US store and I played the Echochrome trial version from the Hong Kong store yesterday! :))
Greetings from Europe!

90

crmgs  |  March 7th, 2008 at 12:02 am

good old times with bunch of good demos etc.

91

FilliamHMuffman  |  March 7th, 2008 at 12:31 am

You people should be ashamed saying stuff like “quality over quantity” and “better than XBLA” in interviews. While XBLA is getting good games like N+ and Rez, PSN is getting garbage like Go! Sports Skydiving and Rocketmen (I know it’s on XBLA too, but at least they have plenty of good games to choose from too). If it wasn’t for the echochrome demo on the Japanese store (admittedly something good for a change), I wouldn’t have downloaded a single thing this week.

If you people in charge of the PlayStation Store actually believe PSN is superior to XBLA, then I hope you’re fired!

92

chanskie  |  March 7th, 2008 at 12:51 am

@FilliamHMuffman | March 7th, 2008 at 12:31 am

You should go to XBLA and stop winging ! shut up and get on with it.

93

chanskie  |  March 7th, 2008 at 12:59 am

Do you know you can actually download the GT 5 Prologue on Singapore store for SG 59.90!!! Is cheaper and it is pretty impressive experience. However i just heard US and EU version will included more routes and extras…:-(

94

p-s-3  |  March 7th, 2008 at 3:30 am

This is SONY’s PS3’s year people!!! ;-D
Erm so far nothing???
We just have to wait really, i’ve given up asking for this and that.
One day erm hopefully this year will get things;)

95

Gunwing  |  March 7th, 2008 at 4:47 am

Now thats a PC store update! flOw, and more Ape Escape! Rock on Sony! Also the new stuff for PS3 is good too!

Do more updates to PSN like this any nobody will complain! I love this stuff! The new theme rocks!

BTW any news on the next PSP, and PS3 system updates? we could use some info if not now soon.

96

Jeanus  |  March 7th, 2008 at 6:14 am

@FeaturePreacher

Thank you bro!!!

97

Coolwater  |  March 7th, 2008 at 7:24 am

@HanSolo #50

If you’ve been keeping up, there was an interview recently that reported that Sony is controlling the way things are released on the store. So if you want to get mad at anyone get mad directly at the Sony higher-ups.

98

godslayer2018  |  March 7th, 2008 at 7:48 am

~wow~ this sux …..you ppl are weak. RELEASE MORE/BETTER CONTENT(and then we’ll talk)
