DUALSHOCK 3

Rumble is back with the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller for PLAYSTATION 3. These are shipping to store shelves as we speak, so be on the lookout for them next week. Now I know that the list of compatible games is the most important thing to you, so we’re including that at the bottom of this post. The titles with an asterisk in the list below will require a patch in order to activate the rumble feature. The patch will automatically download to your PS3 if your console is connected online. If you are not connected online, check our PlayStation Knowledge Center for more information.

We will be launching have launched a web page on the PlayStation website later this morning dedicated to informing you of what titles use force feedback. This list will be expanding as new titles become compatible, so be sure to be sure to check back. You can also keep an eye out for this icon:

DUALSHOCK 3 compatible

This will be located on all new software releases that are DUALSHOCK 3 compatible.

Just to give you a small refresher course, the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller includes pressure sensors that rumble with each action. SIXAXIS technology is also included, so you can still use motion control, and the controller features Bluetooth technology for wireless gameplay. You can pick it up at any of the major retailers and at a cost $54.99 MSRP.

Here’s the complete list of titles supporting the DUALSHOCK 3 at launch:

I haven’t read every post here, but for those wanting to know about PS and PS2 support with the new rumble pad, it definitely supports it. I just got the controller and only used it on Wild Arms Alter Code F, but it worked immediately. The new controller is also quite a bit heavier and just feels a lot sturdier.

Sony……….like.no.other.

Wow, amazing, stupendous, and breathtaking.

In short, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system is by far and none, the greatest playstation that this company has put together. PS3 is not only the best playstation from SCEI but it is hands down the FUTURE and BEYOND. Hence the slogan, PLAY BEYOND for the PS3. This machine is freakin amazing and I can easily see it still going strong in the year 2017 and possibly 2018!!!!!!!!

Very proud of you Sony, very proud!!!!!!!

P.S.–Can’t wait, I will soon be the proud owner of a SONY Vaio laptop computer!

I bought my DualShock 3 today, and I think it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s much weightier than the SixAxis and feels much more akin to the DualShock 2. It’s a shame it didn’t come with another charger cable. Oh, well.

I wonder how many games work, but aren’t listed? I just played Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and it supports rumble. [$25 special from lego.com!]

sushiballz, do you know what obsolete means? The Sixaxis will always work just fine with all future PS3 games, so it’s hardly obsolete. Rumble is just a luxury.

when are we going to start seeing these in retail stores on the west coast? I have two target cards for these controllers and target has no idea when they’re going to get them, just that they should have them before GTA IV. even online would be good, cuz I would over night those suckers, lol I want these before GTA comes out so I have time to play some of my other ps3 games with rumble, cuz once that game comes out I won’t be playing any other game for months on end.

Will there be any sort of upgrade or trade-in program for old SIXAXIS controllers?
