What’s up everyone? One more day until the weekend, right? Well, I’ve got some good news for all you Rocketmen fans dying for some new content to play this weekend…I’m pleased to announce that the next chapter of Capcom’s Rocketmen: Axis of Evil is here. Rocketmen: It Came from Uranus, an expansion to the original digitally-distributed title, will be available on the PLAYSTATION Store today for only $4.99! Rocketmen fans will have access to new maps, weapons, and enemies. It’s more blasting than Uranus can handle! (I didn’t have to go there but I did – sorry!)

Here’s a preview of the intense shoot-em-up action:

And this is just the tip of the iceberg for us over here at Capcom as we are super excited to bring you exciting, fun and compelling content for the PLAYSTATION Network throughout the summer and fall! Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, a chaotic destroy-everything-in-site arcade shooter, should hit the store in early June. 1942: Joint Strike, the follow up to the 194X series, arrives in July, followed by Bionic Commando Rearmed, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, and a pirate themed RTS called Plunder!

I’ll be back soon with exclusive videos, screens and information on all our upcoming digital titles so stay tuned!

  • Is there a ring around Uranus?

  • Thanks Capcom.

I’ll pass on Rocketmen, but the future releases look promising.

  • Is there anyway you can give us the ability to change the camera angles?
i.e. First or over the shoulder 3rd person

The game is fun but the camera has a tendency to get me killed.

  • Good looking line-up. Can’t wait for Street Fighter II Turbo HD!

  • Ummm… are you implying that Rearmed isn’t coming until after July now?
    I’ll trust that you aren’t…

  • Don’t like the game… i want Resident Evil 5.. that’s a mature game.. :D

  • I hope everyone avoids this game. It is god awful.

    • Stoffinator – Harsh! :) I think this game is different from other shmups you’ve played because it mixes in RPG elements. But once you get into it, although not perfect, is a lot of fun. There’s a new demo on the store that better represents the game. Try it out.

    Bionic Commando Rearmed in July!?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

  • Sorry capcom, Rocketmen was crap to me. The rest of your PSN line up looks really great though, keep it up.

  • Rocketman was horrible and only surpassed by that duck game in its ability to fail on every level.

Thanks for keeping us updated though and we look forward to the better games! ;)

  • Cool deal, I’m excited by some new smaller Capcom titles in the future. Street fighter and Bionic Commando especially.

Lets get some new unique cool games too okay? :)

  • No thank you. I do not like. The other stuff looks promising though.

  • Awesome :) I loved Rocketmen: Axis of Evil and I’m sure I’ll love this expansion.

  • 1942, Bionic Commando and Street Fighter remake i CANNOT WAIT FOR!

    Rocketman…not so much. lol.

  • weird a capcom person on this blog the first time this ever happenany changes that we can get mega man legend remakes on psp in the usa there is a demand in the usa for that game .Also i would like to get a part 3 on ps3.

    • Erico – I love the Mega Man Legend series. Although there are no plans right now for a remake on the PSP, I’ll pass the info along. You’ll be surprised by how many games get green lit because of request from fans.

  • hey John, thanks for the info. Will any of the Capcom PSN titles feature Remote Play? They’re all looking really good. I’m anticipating Commando 3, BC Rearmed and 1942:JS.

    • Hey OldManGaming – Although I think it’s a great idea, I think remote play will be tough to implement for these types of games. When I start showing you exclusive screens for 1942, Rearmed, and SFHD, you’ll see why. :)

  • Thanks for the BC Rearmed delay! Couple that with an add-on to a horrible game and this post gets a 1/5 for me.

    Sorry, Capcom.

  • to #15

a mega man remake (in the vein of Bionic Commando and 1942) would be INCREDIBLE! if they remake the first 3 Mega Man games like they’re doing for those two i’d be on that THE SECOND it dropped on the PSN.

    John…you listening? lol.

  • Mega Man 2 remake. I would buy that.

  • Thats interesting, konami is trying of course they are balance.
    Well till then.
    Engr Chris

  • I can’t tell you how pumped I am for Bionic Commando Rearmed and the new installment as well… Mega Man remakes would definitely be welcome too.

But the real issue here is… what gives with no Dead Rising port, Capcom? COME ON!!! Zombies, PLEASE!!!

  • The upcoming lineup for the summer looks great! Thanks for the info.

  • Wow. I didn’t personally get all that into the game myself, but you guys are being incredibly harsh. Not even just passive aggressive.

(By way of note, I’d also like to say that I’d love to see some zombie killing come our way, much like many playstation.com forum members I’ve come across. Just some food for thought.)

  • Capcom is becoming the joke of the video game industry. The quality of the games are bad, and they are one of the worst Japanese developers, and there are not many. IYA

  • I know a lot of work goes into a game, but it is frustrating when they always get bumped back further and further. On the bionic commando site, it still shows a May release for Rearmed…

Here they are saying sometime after a game release in July.

  • While I won’t speak about Capcom in general, the Rocketman game was quite dreadful.

It felt like an experimental game that someone created as part of a college game-development course.

  • While I didn’t really enjoy “Rocketmen” either, some of the comments are pretty harsh – especially the ones that paint all of Capcom in a bad light.
From what I’ve seen through the development of Bionic Commando: Rearmed, they’re a company that’s doing their best to put out great games, at a great price – and all while staying true to past work. Give some credit…

  • #26 0 Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the demo…

Rocketmen was not fun for me, but the Pirate idea might be. Cheers either way Capcom for interacting with your fans!

  • Wait a minute, this is definitely a doozie. *Sigh* First of all, I was aware of the BCR delay, which was mention in the Top Secret Bionic Commando this week tuesday, however Ben Judd one of the developers stated that they were pushing for a June release, now I hear that BCR could be released in July after these select few titles? First I’d like to ask which one is the case? Second I’d like to know why, exactly would we have to wait until July, for the game if it gets finished and approved before then? It was hinted that the approval is something that may have impacted the delay, as the game was said near completion awhile back, and I’m sure since then the game has become even more complete than before, thus making the above question relevant.

  • I personally found Rocketmen quite amusing. Its funny and pretty fun once you get the feel of it. I haven’t bought it because there are other purchases I would like first, but if I ever had extra cash I would definately buy it.

  • @ 25

Ben Judd revealed this week Tuesday on the BC Podcast that Rearmed has been delayed, as it was scheduled for May, but unfortunately wasn’t able to hit a May release, so it was stated that June is the next target date, now before June even hits or before the delay is even settled we’re getting another delay that July would be the date, that just doesn’t fly.

    @ 27

I think people are really tired of Capcom and some of the things that have been going on, example SPF2HDR is fun, however is terrible being that online doesn’t work right, leaderboards are ravaged with cheaters (Mind you they released a patch in trying to fix it, yet haven’t told Sony to reset the leaderboards, instead the waited on it, and now no one plays online anymore), then you have the SSF2HDR that has been delayed tons of times, and then on top of that have a beta exclusively to the 360 which is fine, but instead of telling a decent truth of way the 360 was chosen they lie about it, and give multiple stories, check the Official Capcom forums and their statement there opposed to the “Official” Statement to the world, two very different stories, both being Sony’s fault though :|. Thats not even to mention the Talisman and Commando 3 titles that were supposed to be released in Winter 07, yet instead they went undercover and still much to this day hasn’t been heard about them (With the exception Commando 3 that starting to get a little more recognition than before). Don’t get me wrong I love the company and this is not to be disrespectful at all, however consumers due have to be watchful, and its appearant that Capcom isn’t fairing so well on the Digital Download front, and this BCR delay makes it another downer from that of which has been Capcom as of late.

  • Also I forgot to mention @ 16

Bionic Commando Rearmed supports Remote Play, its been stated a few times. Its also supports Rumble. Here you can check out the comments (From Ben Judd) in this BC Blogpost that confirms remote play. As far as the other titles, remote play hasn’t been formally announced.

Bionic Commando Rearmed will have remote play, Ben Judd has confirmed it a few times, and here is his latest confirmation

  • Well if you’re taking requests, remake Resident Evil 2 for the PS3 or 360…please?

  • i definitely agree people are being kind of harsh but seriously…this game was not that fun at all when i tried it. it was horrible. i agree that it seems like some kid’s final project in a computer animation college course.

i think the harsh attitude comes from jaded Sony supporters as well. ie we lost exclusive-rights to Devil May Cry 4. then…we had to wait to get Lost Planet. we never got Dead Rising (which a lot of people wanted to check out). then…we get Rocketman?

this game definitely came from someone’s anus. cause it’s that bad.

however Capcom…be excited that so many people are anticipating your other games coming soon. but also it may be a wake up call that this game was not that good. sorry.

  • also…regarding Capcom in general…i agree that there have been (and i’m sure there will be) great games from Capcom. this just wasn’t one of them.

try to ignore the people being harsh for no reason. they’re everywhere. but also realize that a lot of people are waiting on some of the titles you have slated for this summer.

we also don’t really need another update for this game in the meantime lol.

  • also…to add to what #31 PSPMAN said…

we want good games but it has been more than clear to Sony supporters and PS3 owners that we as a market are an afterthought to Capcom. sure…now that the PS3 is booming and the bluray war is OFFICIALLY over (it’s been over for more than a year in truth) and the system is moving more and more units AND people are realizing the potential the machine has…we’ve had to be an afterthought for over a year while developers all made excuses about how hard it is to learn the PS3 and how it was too expensive…blah blah blah so now that everyone sees the potential and is finally on board they’re rushing and giving us crap games like Rocketman while they try to port games we wanted last holiday season.

Capcom has great games we want to see that we hope are worth the wait. but there are also plenty of other games we WANTED that we never got because evidently there weren’t enough PS3 owners to make it worth their while. so they throw us Rocketman?

so yes…we can be harsh and yes we’re critical but when you show up late to the party and then bring a crappy gift…who wouldn’t be?

  • Thanks for the update, I’m particularly looking forward to some (well, all) of those games. In regards to Rocketmen, while I enjoyed the demo I do feel it could benefit from a few tweaks – fixing the camera issue for one so you can backtrack, but also it would be nice for the weapons to be much more powered up (I played the UK demo so not sure what level they were) and more enemies. Shoot-em-ups can be great fun and I would really like Rocketmen to be patched before anymore expansions come out(including an option to auto-skip or shorten the regular cutscenes) – it has loads of potential!! :)

  • I would love to buy this game, but I simple dont find it on my PStore to. Strange, because both, Free trial and Spansion Pack are there, the full game no…
    :(

  • @39

You can buy the full version of Rocketmen in the trial version, by pressing square when it prompts you to, for unlocking the full version of the game.

  • @40

    Yep, done :)
    Thanks
