Hot Shots Golf – back on the go this June

Chris Hinojosa-Miranda's Avatar + Posted by Chris Hinojosa-Miranda on May 16, 2008 // Producer

If you’re looking for that special something to get you through the weekend – look no further, we’ve got some great news from the Hot Shots camp that will make you jump for joy, dance and move your feet (all simultaneously). So without any further ado, please turn on your PSPs as we welcome Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 into the Hot Shots family.

True, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 is set to launch this coming June 3rd, so you best start getting ready to revisit the greatness that is Hot Shots on the go.

For the next few weeks, we’ll be delivering weekly updates on some of the new game features, videos, screens, etc. As usual, we’ll also be at hand to answer some of your questions and listen to you comments.

You’ll be pleasantly surprised to learn that in vein to its PSP heritage, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 will have over 300 customizable options for you to dress your character (of which there are 22) in the usual Hot Shots crazy nature. If you’ve ever dreamed to don a penguin (the animal, not the villain) outfit, here’s your chance. You say you like Dutch Flower dresses? Open Tee 2 has that too. Panda bears? Check. Dracula, bunny, log, astronaut, matador, hula skirts, Eskimo: check, check, check.

Even if you think your darkest fantasy is to be an equine French maid with a pet chicken named Roscoe is not doable — think again.

Roscoe

So besides an infinite matrix of combinations at the tip of your fingers, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 has 16 player global online gameplay, 8 player ad-hoc games, an addictive mini-game, and really cool secret unlockables. You can check also out a brand new Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 video showing the character customization in action on Amazon.com. Yes, there’s going to be plenty to talk about for the next few weeks, so make sure to come back and check the PS Blog for more info.

Cool. I most likely will be getting this game too. I just wish Out of Bounds allowed online play against people from JPN.

Well as long as it dose not hit the PS2 I’ll be happy. IMHO it’s the one thing that has killed the PSP in the US that the PS2 has almost as many of the same games that look better, and have better controls for them.

We need more PSP exclusives! IE SWBF:RS was great! R&C Size Matters was killer: Untill Sony Ported it over to the PS2! LAMO! SONY! DON’T DO THAT!

IMHO the major PSP games that are exclusive are the fallowing:

God Of War: Chains of Olympus

WipEout: Pulse

WipEout: Pure

Ace Combat X: Skys of Deception: please contract the company who made that game to make another PSP Ace Combat with online MP, and killer full use of the new PSP Slims 64MBs of memory!

Medal of Honor: The two games we have are both great!

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heros2

DBZ: Shin Budokia: Another Road

Also please push Sony to release the download content for their PSP games on PSN for free!

I really hope that this is also available on the PSN/PC store. There are some games that I like to have UMD’s for. But other games like this I would much rather have on my memstick.

PLEASE release it on the PSN/PC store as well as UMD!!!

Was that a tiger I saw!! I can’t wait. I LOVE the HSG franchise. Hopefully you put a demo out soon. It’s one of those games that disguises itself as a kids game so get it out there!!

Is there advanced shot? I find myself rather enjoying the new meter!

This is a little off topic, but I’ll talk about Hot Shots Golf a bit as well…

I can’t help but think that Sony could be raking in the cash on the PsOne Classics, in comparison to any raking they might be doing at the moment… My simple analysis comes from my own hardcore nature to have/own/play everything, I have boughten a few of the serious PSOne classics that have come to the North American PSN, (ie. Crash Bandicoot 1-2-3, Castlevania,Hot Shots Golf 2, Wild Arms.) all of which were 6.99cdn at the time, Castlevania being 10.99cdn, now the pricing has been changed to equal the US at 5.99, and 9.99 so they all should theoretically be more appealing to me, no?
See the silliest thing is, I’m fine without buying Syphon Filter or Twisted Metal 2, While I do like those games, possibly even love, I have owned the hardcopies in the past, at the full shelf prices, I just can’t justify spending $6+tax on those oldschool games, so I’ll continue to pick and choose which Classics are worth the $5.99-$9.99 price for me… until(if) Sony lowers the prices to say $2.99 as a standard
(say for any games rated less than a 5/5 or 10/10, or 100%.?) then I’ll just buy them all… I won’t really bother picking and choosing too much, I’d pretty much buy any good old psOne game at 2.99, but at 5.99 I just can’t justify doing the hardcore collector thing in this scenario…

Which brings me to my short albiet relevant conclusion… All this being said, I believe certain games such as Hot Shots Golf2 etc, are definitely worthy of their 5.99, and Castlevania is more than worthy of it’s 9.99, I just don’t see how you can put any of those other classic games up against Grade A classics for 5.99, and not think to lower them a little…

Anyway I’m done, I’ll be more on topic/relevant in the future.

i just wished Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds for the PS3 supported Remote play! sure would have been nice. i have yet to use remote play for a ps3 game since almost no ps3 games support it.

has (almost) every developer forgotten about us PS3/PSP owners that use remote play?

besides Lair, what other games are remote play ready? just curious.
