Jul As has been reported on many gaming blogs and websites, we have temporarily taken Firmware v2.40 offline. We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up.
We’ll provide further information as necessary here on the Blog.

I know the printer support on the PS3 only has a couple of companies that the printers will work for.
I know I have the bluetooth headset that was included with Warhawk and that works ok, but it’s a PS3 headset. Heard a few others mentioning other devices…so maybe they’ll speak up.

@2092 if it’s in an enclosure, maybe put it on top of the TV stand. Another idea may be just getting a small fan (there are PS3 fans you can purchase) and keep it blowing on the system.

I have mine laying down (not standing up) and it’s working fine, but have seen others with the PS3 upright and it works great that way too.

It may as there is less of the PS3 that is touching something else….just make sure those air holes have lots of breathing room.
Clean them often too as dust can gather.

Hey people…I’ve been playing SSHD so much since the trophies came out with 2.40 I didn’t realize how much fun Fatal Inertia was.
Actually downloaded Fatal Inertia a couple of weeks ago, but haven’t played a lot and brought it up today.
A nice game…if you like racing (these are flying ships) and combat.
Another great new game.
Matt if you’re talking about Sony Home…that’s not available until around September of this year..but only in beta..full blown apparently is in 2009.

folks it was a holiday weekend. Not many people are going to spend a nice summer weekend in there affices. If you had to work over the holiday weekend sorry to hear it. These guys need a little bit af time to work this out. The fire works are over in the states, Monday is tommorrow and I am sure they will have us an update on the problem as soon as they can.
