Jul As has been reported on many gaming blogs and websites, we have temporarily taken Firmware v2.40 offline. We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up.
We’ll provide further information as necessary here on the Blog.

Hallo peoples. The thread is still going strong I see! I thought I’d just throw into the mix that I have tried absolutely everything on 2.40 now and not a single glitch. Although, to be fair, it didn’t like it much when I got Rickrolled… I stand by my theory that there isn’t a damn thing wrong with the update at all. Server issues I’m sure of it.

I really do feel bad for those that were affected or don’t have the patch…but be a little patient.

I noticed the controller not registering problem before the update, maybe it happens if your neighbor has a ps3 or something, just plug it into the system or use it to turn on the system to rememdy that problem

Instead of thinking that you don’t have 2.40 yet, think of 2.40 hasn’t come out yet.
It was merely “leaked” on July 2nd. And it wasn’t stable, so you are really better off without it.
For those who have 2.40 (Non-bricked):
Instead of thinking you have a buggy 2.40, think of yourself as being a Beta Tester for Sony. Oh such a privelege!

apparently they took 4.00 Team pack for SSHD offline when 2.40 was taken off.
I got the patch at the same time as 2.40 and I must say it’s impressive.
Heard 2.41 is coming mid week…so Sony is working on it…
