Ok, my older brother has a lame internet connection that only allows a certain amount of downloads per day. (I think the limit is 300MB, which is why I said it’s lame). He wants to download the latest firmware update via his work internet connection.

My question is, he didn’t get 2.40 and would like to go from his latest (I think 2.36) to 2.41. Is this possible? Or does 2.40 need to be installed, and then 2.41?

At the moment, only 2.36 is being shown on the download page.

I didn’t have any problems with the 2.40… But I’m happy to see that the 2.41 seems to be faster Accessing the XMB and so

sony please no need to apologies. i mean it been like 6 days but still that doesnt bother me, anyone(cept microsoft?) would take an update(or any downloadable items) offline if there was enough complains about the update going wrong at any time.
so please no need to apologies we thank you for correcting this problem without make it seem like an hassle for every one…

I just have 1 comment about the update though. I’m not complaining I LOVE everything you did for us recently. I just want to ask 1 thing is there anyway in the next update you guys can include an option to change the key used with Del key to delete everything?

I’m a fast typer and so when I make a mistake i automatically go and hit the delete key but when I’m typing with caps (habit) I generally end up deleting everything about once everytime I type out a long message.

If you could set up an option in the keyboard settings to allow us to set it up for the alt key, or the ctrl key it should help those of us who automatically correct spelling at 90+ AWPM a ton. Nothing like wanting to fix your grammar on the fly, and deleting EVERYTHING you just typed to really get annoying. After 3 times doing it back to back I’m about to just stop wanting to messaging lol.

Hey Guys,

as Pohlio (203) just said. Thank you very much for all your efforts to make our PSN so much more interesting and bigger. The Playstation will always be my favourite console and I am happy about every single thing you guys better up by patching the firmware.

Now, I would really love if you could only put the Stardust Patch and the expansion back and available for update. We all want to get these trophies you were talking about. But only few can collect them. =/

Finally, please continue your work on our system. The community will thank you. I am still doing it.

WOW Dont you just love it when you pay £40 fo a game and it keeps crashing theres nothing like it.

i think we have progress after several turn off try agains’ the game now goes as far as the pictures then black then finally loads after about 20 mins

…and yes there are people who are hatin’ like aron912(gt@4 problems)and there are ppl like cabrito who are cheering over ur work.
ppl who help others as well as giving helpful sugestions(typeF).and lastly in my list ppl who are asking for patches/updates for games… i mean it something is wrong in a game it needs fixed(+we need more trophies)

I do appreciate the intricacies of software, but I fail to understand how a global company can leave their consumers in the dark for almost a week following a travesty of a firmware upgrade.

In the same sense, you obviously don’t ‘do’ CRM.

We gave you the story of the classic PS3 trio of software that won’t be getting Trophy support, but we still don’t have the official, definitive word on which games will, and which games won’t. We have heard from several sources that about 70% of PS3 titles will support Trophies, but again, we don’t have a specific set of lists.

Well, it’d be difficult to compile, but if you want to check an ongoing updated list, head on over to TheSixthAxis, where they’re currently setting up a “yes, no, and maybe” list for the trophy support subject. As you can see, that trio of Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Resistance: Fall of Man is under the “Will Not Support Trophies” category, as we reported earlier. But it’s the other lists that should interest you, and that includes the “Expected To Support Trophies;” it only includes one game right now: Bioshock. We imagine this is true, because we’ve heard plenty of evidence that this PS3 remake will most certainly boast Trophies. Chances are, 2K was well aware of them when they started on the project.

Anyway, keep checking back as they update it, and we’ll be sure to keep you apprised of any major, big-name titles that will or will not support Trophies. Well, at least for now; eventually, most all games will, so it won’t be much of an issue.

I have release 2.40 and all that I see is still fine.

Games are running fine, the trophies on SSHD are working.

No problems here.

@214 there’s a site that’s posting what games will, will not and maybe will have the trophies coming.

One suggestion for the future.

In terms of ‘download management’, I would like the option for the PS3 to turn off once all downloads have been completed.

Therefore, I will be able to leave my PS3 on overnight whilst my content downloads, before it kindly switches itself off for me.

To get trophies in Stardust HD you’ll need a patch update first, called 4.00. This automatically pops up as soon as you starting SSHD, many people around here have been asking when the update is back online. If you have this update already, go to the “game” map, in there you’ll find the “trophy collection” map, with games supporting trophies, in this case should that be SSHD and a full list of trophies to obtain. But again, then you need to SSHD 4.00 update installed.

Hmm being a bit confused now, when you press on the people their user ID you’ll get their profile few, with as first the trophies in screen, below is a tab with “compare trophies” do you mean that? If so, its still there.

Hi, I love the update and I admire your hard work and dedication to your customers Sony.

I was wondering if it we’re possible to implement an option to customize what tabs I want to appear in the in-game XMB.

Although I like the the fully detailed XMB that appears in-game, I’d like the option to select just the Settings,Music,Game and Friends tabs to display for my in-game XMB.

I really like the Trophy system and the new Platinum graphic.

I think I speak for everyone by saying:

Please make Trophies a requirement for devs from now on. Custom soundtracks aswell.

It’s only Tuesday and the 2.41 patch is out and downloadable….so Sony beat the Wednesday deadline.

I believe trophies are mandatory all games being released will have them some being released soon might not at release because of time restraints and all old games at some point will get them. If people would stop spreading mis-information and learn on to read they would have figured it out.

no plans right now, of course not because they are making a game and no matter what people tell you about it only taking a half a day is a lie as they have to come up with trophies and it’s art, they go through the whole code and put in checkers through it all so the game knows what and when to unlock and then they have to go through all the QA process, etc. etc.

Eric Lempel says this:

GameSpy: Does Sony have a deadline, loose or rigid, for developers to implement trophies into existing titles?

Lempel: We’re working with developers to hit a deadline. It’s not something that we’re trying to force on them, since it eats into their development schedules. Many of them want to do it. It’s just there’s some additional work on their end; someone has to create art and assets, and we don’t want to interfere with what they’re currently working on. Ultimately, we’ll have trophies for every game, but we didn’t want to force it on them immediately.

as for in-game music that is a useless feature and I don’t care when/if that ever happens.

If something big happens like this in the products life you have to expect waiting.

Like I said before, 2008 has been a great year and we’re only half way through.

Rumours of Home beta in Sep 08 and full in 2009, more games getting trophies.
