  • hmm nothing good for me…. I might get wall-e demo but besides that its boring for me

  • Holy crap, people. You’re crying for PS1 games? Even the 40gig plays them. Half of the titles I’ve seen here I’ve owned for years. Hit the local mom and pop game store, hit up ebay or amazon, there’s not that many games for PS1 that are hard to find.

FFVII? REALLY? For such big fans that absolutely must have that game, you don’t have very good memories. Square has said many, many times that they will not re-release or remake FFVII as long as the original can still be played on a current system. That’s why we didn’t see it for PS2, that’s why we aren’t seeing it for PS3, and why it won’t hit the PS Store.

I hope Sony continues to ignore you guys. I’d rather they keep working on improving the XMB and overall PS3 experience than shoving an ISO file out onto the store for a quick buck.

The only PS1 store releases I’ll support are rare ones. R-Type Delta, for example, I would buy up in a heartbeat.

  • thatsmartguywiththefro

lol, there are a lot of screwups with the @ #’s. Wonder what sort of comments are being deleted?

Is there going to be a bundle with the two add ons for SSHD? I really want to get this game especially since it has trophies, but don’t want to be screwed if a bundle came out with a bargain price soon after I bought the game.

    PSN: themaruder11

  • @153

I was wondering the same thing. I played the demo and love the game but if they would bundle it then it would be a sure sale.

    PSN: deans1986

  • Lots of demos :)

Good update, getting Siren: Blood Curse in a bit.

  • PSONE graphics make my eyes bleed

But I did see a black label copy of FFVII going for $50 on eBay… was tempted to bid on it but then I remember I had a girlfriend and I made sweet sweaty nookey to her instead

  • RelentlessRolento

    not bad. good work guys.

I still wish SCEA’s PSN division would put a larger priority on PS1 game downloads though. I know the process is hard to get everything approved, but if it became a larger focus of PSN I can see it become one of its best aspects much like the Japanese PSN.

  • Nice a lot of demos and content this week :)

  • Awesome, map pack for free. :D

  • great update

  • What about SSDHD team Pack? Why isnt that back out yet?

im trying to be as patient as possible.

  • HOLY BALLS! Snow (Hey Oh) is the hardest Rock Band song ever!!!!!!!! for guitar at least.

  • Kratos_ate_Snake

    Thanks 4 lots of demos!

  • If this is the update BEFORE E3, I would have to assume that next week’s will be stellar. This is a great update! Watch…at E3 they will announce some type of library access to PS1 and PS2 games. You guys need to be patient.

  • Good to see a plentiful supply of demos this week. Something for everyone in there. A right mixed bag.

Now, I’m crossing my fingers for news on Wipeout HD. You guys sure are being quite about this title. It’s going to rock PSN to it’s foundations by all sounds of it. Where’s the hype on the blog? Oh and bring on some more Hot Shots Golf content. Those extra costume packs should be shortly incoming right?

  • I like the update.

  • thatsmartguywiththefro

thanks for the demos. Please do your best to get as much E3 content as possible on to next weeks update!

For future content, it’d be great to get exclusive interviews, like the pre-E3 ones, on the Store. Because while I do prefer watching trailers on my playstation, It’d be better if it wasn’t something most people have already seen.

Slightly off topic, but not really since one would expect this to be downloadable from the Store. At E3 please do not forget the PS Eye!!! I still want my Sketch’n’Scan, which had my anti-videogame parents staring in fascination, and had me excited…. BACK IN NOVEMBER!

  • thatsmartguywiththefro

I have the demo for SSHD, and it shows me which trophies are attainable, but can you actually get some from the demo? I tried getting 5 tokens in one boost, but either I just barely missed it or you don’t receive trophies from the demo. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Where’s the SSHD Team Pack?
I really can’t wait to play with my friends in a deathmatch! Does Sony realize that they took the add-on offline? The trophy is a neat perk, but I love this game and really want to hit up some multiplayer!
Did you guys forget that it has been taken offline?

  • The camera in Siren is crap. You are limited to about 45 degrees of vision either side. For crying out loud they have had ages to work on this and it seems they did not play test it with western gamers. What sort of moron thought that game mechanic was a good idea? I noticed this problem on the Jp demo and mentioned it here before (as did IGN on their site). Game is pretty well ruined for me so no purchase unless it is fixed with a patch. Sony seem to be the masters of disappointment this generation.

  • Dear Jeff,

You dont have to answer this, but why does it take aeons to get PSone classics on the Store? This is a feature that is way underutilized, yet Japan gets all the goods. Is there perhaps something being worked out to unify all Stores so that anyone from any country will have access to the same content? While one competitor gets multiple virtual games on a weekly basis consistently, the other competitor reveals at least 2-3 Exclusive titles in the pipeline, we get a trickle here and a trickle there. If were not getting new and exclusive titles, give us something please! And Crash is good and all but we need variety like perhaps Oddworld, Need for Speed, Gex, Colony Wars, Metal Gear Solid, G-Police, Wipeout Xl, Etc…………………………………………………………………………………….

  • Can you guys at Sony please update the song catalogue for Singstar? “We need new songs!”

    Bob Marley
    Michael Jackson
    Usher
    Metallic
    etc…

  • First off, I would like to say that I love Burnout Paradise and the Cagney update but here are some of the bugs I found that are pretty irritating.

    1. Microphone problems where sometimes no one’s mic works in an online game. This seems to only happen to me when I’m playing with people on my friend’s list and not with random strangers.

    2. Takedowns not registering online. A perfect example of this was when me and a friend were playing online and he took a break to go to the bathroom. I crashed into his idle car around 10 times and not one of them registered as a takedown but instead registered as crashes.

    3. Vertical takedowns not registering online. Very similar to the last bug I mentioned but extra annoying when you need to do them for some of the timed challenges. Very aggravating when you’re clearly doing a vertical takedown but the game for some reason doesn’t consider it one.

I also have a few suggestions that I think alot of Burnout players would like considering the experiences I have had playing the game online.

    1. When starting a timed challenge, keep both parts of the challenge description showing and mark both points on the map for each part you need to go to. There is always a bunch of confusion about what we need to do and where we need to go for the second part of the challenge because once you start the challenge, it doesn’t show it anymore until you complete the first part which results in needless retries.

    2. In online Road Rage, I wish there was some consequence for anybody in the blue team crashing. It’s hard enough to takedown people in the blue team already without them also being able to purposely crash themselves to get out of trouble. I would suggest to have it be like the offline version of Road Rage and Marked Man where the car degrades the more you crash and you would need to go to a repair shop to get back to normal. Takedowns from the opposing team would still be instant elimination though.

  • Not a bad update, but it would be nice to see some more PS1 classics like Crash Team Racing or Syphon Filter 2. Also it would be nice to have a little more love for the PSP.

  • Disregard that my last post. I meant to put that in the Burnout blog post.

  • Help, how can i play the new maps of rainbow six vegas 2, i download and install the gift pack, but nothing happen and i don’t now what to do, somebody can help me? or tell me if there’s a problem, thanx!

  • where is the singstar information?? every 2 weeks i wait for there to be some sort of info about the game and still nothing. did you guys forget that the game came out in the US?? when will we ever be able to view the US singstore on http://www.singstargame.com?? you can view every other country but no the US. we cant even register for the site. when are there going to be some better songs added to the store? any information would be nice

  • Love the update (mainly just the “Siren” and “Monster Madness” demos), but I’d love some new PS1 CLASSIC GAMES!!!

  • Something different:

Sony, what just happened with my PS3? Here I was, answering messages which I got from people. There were about a dozen new ones but strangely enough my message inbox said nothing was there while I could see with the ID names a new message was available from these people. So I thought let me turn off the PSN for a second and turn it back on… still the same, so I turned off the PS3 and turn it back on. System said that it had to rebuild database, I had no choice so did OK. It rebuild its database. Went back to PSN,… all my messages… GONE! Everything else on my HDD was luckily still there, but hate the fact that messages I haven’t responded yet are gone now.

    Why is that?

  • Hey thanks for the update on the PS Store and for Firmware

    I have on concern though.

When I try to use chat with a friend of mine, each time one of us uses the camera it [DELETED] up and disconnects both of us from the PSN! Is anyone else getting this problem

  • Whatever happened to releasing Suikoden :/

  • Sweet Update! thanks for the demo’s BRO’s!

  • Siren: Blood Curse looks promising. The demo was creepy and fun at the same time. I like the control scheme, though I do have to get used to it. Silent Hill may have some real compitition in this game.

  • kedaro and other FFVII “Fans/fanbois/fanboys/etc” SE has stated many times they do not plan to rerelease or remake the game. You can go on their forums or the net and do a little research. SE Forums/Kotaku even had the only way a remake was going to happen is if all the originals of the team signed on for it. Stop complaining to Sony about your lack of FFVII. If you were true fans or a collector (myself) you would have your original and a backup so you could play at any time anyway.

Back to the update good job guys shut up the majority of the people who were in fear for paying for demos. This should definitely shut them up. Feel bad for you, you give one thing and people complain you give them a ps classic and they still complain good luck finding a medium with whiners. Got a lot of demos to try and can we get an extra Dark Knight trailer or Hellboy 2 trailer well the Hellboy 2 trailer since the movie is already out no need but a Dark Knight Trailer or IMAX Dark Knight preview (6 minute beginning) would be great in 1080p and definitely have a lot of people happy.

  • Can you tell us when Linger in Shadows is going to be on psn, and can you tell us when we’ll be seeing Rat Race on psn? and also, when wipeout hd is going to be on psn?

  • 4 demos ? Awesome.
    Pretty nice Playstation Store Update.

  • Better than ur avg update thats for sure.

  • Wow, Wall.E sucks, Siren was pretty bad imo, and that R4V2 fan pack reminded me how big of a POS Ubisoft is.

    More PS1 games please.

  • @179 – Onna76_NL.

Wow that is definately strange !

My messages are still there, but thanks for posting in case others may have that problem.

  • @kenshin, limited camera angles are an excellent way to add horror to a game. This is a HORROR game, not an adventure. Its not designed for you to look around and get a good feel for what’s going on, IMHO, its designed to limit your view purposely (like the stopping to aim in Resident Evil games).

  • Thanx wholeheartedly for all the work you chaps are doing @ Sony. Just know that all of us are not ungrateful little whiners who are not old enough to understand what it takes to keep this machine running. Appreciated!

One request is to keep the vids coming in from this years e3.

    Cheers

  • Very nice update! cant wait to see what you guys have in store for E3 :)

  • Great Update! Will have to try some of these Demo’s :)

  • Any plans for Qore releasing in Australia?

  • PS1 games already released in the Japanese PS Store that all ( the most I know ) want: Resident Evil 1 and 2 , Metal Gear, Dino Crisis, Metal Slug, and Square RPG titles.

    SCEA make it happen!

  • where the heck is the STARDUST SPLiT SCREEN CO-OP??????????

  • Like the demos. Please keep them coming!

Please bring back SSHD Team add-on.

    Thanks SONY!

  • @79 Seba501
    ‘winning’ you mean ?
    I dont think so.

  • Sony, I cant buy or network stuff until ur PSN cards are available world wide. This should have been available from Day One.

  • @196 Pheee.

Not sure it’s still like when I got the Team pack….but it was in the game.

Go to the Online Store option and that’s where I saw it.
