  • Monster Madness was incredibly fun, would’ve never known about it if it wasn’t for the demo. Looking forward to buying it (PSN title?) Trophies?

    Take care

  • Siren is scary as hell. Great demo.

  • Where is SSD HD Team AddOn. My friend managed to grab it before it magically disappeared its not like there is something wrong with it or it messes up your SSD HD install.

  • For those who upgraded to the PS3 from the ps1-2 should get a chance to play all ps2 and ps1 games on the PSN. Think about it; wider market base. I know many ps2 games I want but will never pay retail price for. On the PSN I will pay a fraction. More people might but the PS3.

  • Pac-Man
    Space Invaders
    Scramble
    Bubble Bobble
    Dig-Dug
    etc etc…
We need Old-Skool Original Versions on PSN please ;-P I’d pay for all of them. Nice Store Update ;)

  • 4 demos. Awesome.

  • Some of you guys seriously need to step back from the computer and get a life. You’re making excuses for a multi billion dollar corporation that doesn’t even know you exist, you’re free PR, you’re TOOLS. Wake up. That you feel the need to pretend the system is SUPER OMG PERFECT only showcases that you have a sick emotional attachment to a plastic ox, and need to seek professional help.

  • Hey Sony PlayStation Blog, what’s up with Super Star Dust HD Co-OP Mode missing … I realized that I couldn’t find this update .. was it pulled? I missed the news on that one.

  • Hey, Jeff. I want trophies. =D

  • How about some better songs for Singstar? I swear all we are getting is about half of what Europe is getting. I personally am not interested in recycled European and indie songs. Who the hell is DJ Bobo? Who the hell are the Rasmus? Get a clue Sony, you’re showing on SingStar has been pathetic and you have not kept up to your promises. I feel deceived and tricked into buying this game.

  • nice uploads…..i wonder with all the game videos, why there isn’t any Tekken 6 news or vids…..now that’s a game i’m foaming at the mouth for…

Look who’s talking, then what the hell are you doing here, judging about all the people around this place. If there’s one person who needs professional help then its “yourself” mister, or do you call your message to be psychological well written? :-P

  • Thanks Onna76_NL…you got the reply in before me.

    Most likely and XBOT.

No, what it needs is a very good PS2 backward compatibility in the 40GB. I thought I wouldn’t really miss it on the PS3 as visuals of my PS2 work just fine on my TV, but I do. Its easier to plug in all Playstation brand games in just one console. Unfortunate not all PS games work perfectly on the PS3.

Its especially needed in Japan, where BC is still a major issue and will most definitely make the PS3 sell more, even more if the PS3 turns into a slim version. Slim + PS2 BC = helllllo sales!

PS2 games downloading isn’t that necessary. Most games are still pretty well available, cheaper, being published (Persona 4) and most people around here own PS2 games they wanted to have. So therefore PS2 BC on the PS3 is far more important IMO than PS2 games through PSN. At least priority number 1.

  • @GGCAN sorry about that… again :-D

  • If so many people on here are such big PS1 fans, why don’t you already have the totally awesome and tubular 1980’s versions in your collection?

  • The Narnia demo is the worst demo. :/

  • elefunk actually looks pretty histerically fun… if it gets good reviews ill definitely be buying it… a lot of demos this week… im not really into any of them but at least the content is there

  • wow how come so many of you folks have such raging hard-ons for ps1 games? thats two generations ago… if u want to play them that bad why dont you go buy the disc

  • demos demos demos!!

I think demos are the best way of advertising a game, there should be a demo for every game out there!

    Great update!

  • decent update, looks like some good songs for rockband

  • Iszk was wondering when the next time you would pop up? Still not happy with the system but continuing to go on insulting people. Guess things do not change but you will have your opinion of others regardless. Again like I told you last time you were attacking people no one has said it was perfect if you can find that please post it. People are openly discussing problems and others are discussing their happiness with the update and then others are giving suggestions. Your post does none of the above but just openly attack anyone and everyone. But then again no one on here has said “the system is SUPER OMG PERFECT” so I guess you are just posting to attack no one then?

Sentry looking for ya got a few questions for you when you pop up again.

The PC demo is kind of interesting. Siren was actually refreshing, wall-e imo was kind of bad but it just was not fun to me. I’d recommend PC demo and Siren just to try I have not tried Monster Madness anyone got any words good or bad?

  • Words of reason regarding PS-One Classics…

Most of the “classics” that everyone is whining about are from 3rd party licenses. So it would be best to whine to those companies and not to Sony.

And let’s face the facts, the Wii is currently #1 in the eyes of those companies. Why? Because even your dead great grandma owns or wants a Wii. That is why there are so many “classic” Virtual Console games out.

Now if its a Sony licensed PSOne game, please continue the whining. :D

But in all fairness I do have to say the following:
I have not visited PSN Store in a while, and I have only done so because of 2.41. The Store is quite “zippy” now (love it), but to my disappointment, the content is quite lacking. It’s more or less the same purchasebale games I last saw in the Store since like 4-5 months ago. :(

I wait for the day to (legally) dump all my PSOne games onto my PS3 so I can play any of them at any given time without swapping CD’s.
Whatever happened to that USB PSOne 100 CD Changer? :P

  • Great stuff. Thanks again! :D

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Eh you mean 1990’s… since the PS started off in 1994. I kind of agree with you both, though many PS3 owners have never owned a PS console and games like Suikoden are just too expensive and too rare. A Tombi PSN classic release, now that would be something. Personally I’m still looking for this game, but cost a fortune as second hand. Plus the classic games are quite easy to play on the PSP and looks somewhat better than the original versions.

@Juben, don’t waste your breath my friend, probably a frustrated fanboy from the other side of the galaxy, being jealous about the pleasures we own on earth :-P

  • Sony could you please answer me. When is the Super Stardust HD Team Pack Addon coming out! I have been waiting patiently for the update and now I just want to know how much longer I am going to wait. Please Reply

  • @21 one could make a game without using digital images as textures but by “generating” textures. A few people have done it already making a big game and using only 7MB of space.

This technique however requires some cpu power cause the cpu will be “rendering” the textures while playing or something like that, the process was a bit of a hype a few years ago. I find it odd that big time developers don’t look into that to solve the disk space problem for xbox or the slow BR reader problem for the ps3.

Anyway great store update SCEA I’ll be logged in and leeching from your server in no time ^^.

    Cheers

  • The technical term would be “procedural texturing” and they are limitations to the workflow, and aside from that it’s incredibly complex to achieve nice non computer looking results, hence the reason it’s not heavily adopted within the industry (yet)

  • One of the better updates in a while :)

  • @229

    Agreed

  • So where/when do we get updates for our games (like pixeljunk monsters) to use the new trophies and in-game music features?!?

  • Now this was a decent update!

  • This is BS. I have read 20 blog posts about “where’s my super stardust add-on?” and not one person can answer this question with even a guess. I am one of the people anxiously waiting for it; SO WHERE IS IT? dosn’t anybody know anything about it? Perhaps someone official, maybe?

  • Also I read posts about the in-game music feature not happening because xbox has the rights to it? Is this true? and if not, will Sony implement the in-game music feature sometime soon?

  • so when can we get r hands on those playstation network cards? cause i cant use a credit card

  • Sony should repeat what they did last year and put their E3 press conference video on the PS Store for download. I still have the video from last year. Hopefully they put this year’s up too.

  • @212

    English translation, please.

    @Juben

    Blah Blah Blah Blah

  • @223

It’s the job of SCEA to secure content for the store. The idea that the devs should come to them, rather than vice versa, is a kind of arrogance the dead last console cannot afford to have.

  • Well the Siren download is cool…but I got to be frank here: SCEA you’re behind a FULL few months! LOL

No seriously, though I’ve had the Siren demo (probably the same one) from the JP PSN Store since April or so (and I just downloaded the Siren theme not to long ago too….kinda creepy w/ the sound effects, but cool as hell, LOL). And there lies my problem w/ the US PSN Store–it always seems to me, no matter how many strides it’s made, that it still has a way to go.

  • So When Should We See Wipeout HD I Heard Tuesday?? Is This Correct???

  • @Erickomen666

DON’T SCARE ME LIKE THAT ^_^

  • Can someone tell me how the hell you get that Late Boomer trophy? I know I have to follow the first bomb carrier up to the second, but after that its boom, boom, boom… This afternoon I got this close to get the trophy and BOOM… waaaah!! This trophy should have been like triple platinum! With the Co-op (waiting for my DS3 controller) its the only one I need, but its so “freaking” hard, its not fun anymore.

By the way, Co-op is available with me ever since I downloaded the add on about a week ago with the 2.40 firmware update. What you can do is delete the game from your HDD, NOT the save data!! Download the demo. Download the two patches from the Playstation store, which you’ve downloaded before, so should be in your download history. Put on the Stardust demo and you’ll get a message there’s an update available. Update it, the game will automatically update the two patches as well and voila you’re good to go.

  • Over 500 tries, 5 or 6 days and I’m not giving up, I WANT THAT TROPHY… DAMN IT!!!

    Sorry… :-D

  • Im still w8tin for ff ps1, and megaman ps1 to come out
