The messed up thing is that Square-enix first next gen titles will apear on the xbox first which is said, said , said lol

Hm, I don’t see why XIII Versus would be PS3 exclusive, unless XIII doesn’t sell well for the 360. It’s not a good idea from Square-Enix’s standpoint.

Stop playing it ‘cool’ Sony. And do something to shut the mouths of people like that. You’re relying on the fact that every single ps2 user is going to buy a ps3. You need to stop production of the ps2 already and push the ps3. And seriously… try buying one important exclusive. Clearly, no one really looks down on it.

another said thing is that all or most of the games that they will announce at the press conference tomorrow are games that were announced at e3 05 killzone, another motor storm, and what resistance. Ms will have gear 2 counter that again lol gow 3 will take the place of heavenly sword though hopefully it will turn out alot better than the hs and ms will still be leading. Man it like being in the movie groundhog day lol

Sony:
Cloud. Strife.
Cloud ****ing Strife.
Cloude mother****ing **** Strife.
And even if you lose all third party exclusives, no way am I buying anything from M$. Absolutely NO WAY. But still, I wanna see you guys succeed. So bring on Cloud Strife!

@CommanderLander
I seriously hope that Sony has something big up their sleeve and that this was the reason for Microsoft’s move. However, I doubt that it would be a Halo 4 on PS3, especially after reading terribledeli’s points.
But about actually jumping ship to the 360…. I think this is either really stupid, or just empty threats, since the PS3 still will have FFXIII as well as all the other content that made us buy one in the first place. So, unless you bought a system ONLY for a game that doesn’t come out till 2-3 years after launch, and around a year from now, you’re overreacting.
Of course this by NO means, suggests that you shouldn’t yell the @#$! at Sony to get their game together, and try to either get exclusivity back or counter with something of HUMONGOUS proportions.
All in all, I just hope I wake up tomorrow, and realize it was just a bad dream….

The thing is if sony was leading the next gen war I could care less about ff going multiplatform but in reality they are not winning and are in third place. I wanted sony to come out tommorrow and destroy ms and get the market back because Im a fan of the company and I want them to succeed. Man I have been with them since ps1 and even if they lose this war I will not buy an xbot I will just go down with the ship and just use my money on movies lol

Exactly.
It will be the same things over and over that we have seen over and over and have already been delayed all to hell.
News flash Motorstorm is a c grade game, Resistance is a b grade shooter, Killzone 2 is an unknown which has been delayed so long that nobody cares.
Little Big Planet? It is cute but it will not sell 400k units lifetime.
Sony ruins everything it touches this season

Agreed MikeLynn. I hate M$. I don’t mind FFXIII going multi, but I want Sony to succeed. Don’t let us down. Hint: Cloud. Strife.

It was never “ours” so to speak, as it is SE’s. They haven’t screwed anyone over. To them, it is a business, to us, it is life. I’m just glad it hasn’t been taken completely. They made a business move, and that is it. >>
They’re in it for money. We’re in it for fun. We still get it, so hey, let’s enjoy what we have above them while we still can.
SE is third party.. They were never obligated to stay Sony exclusive, and so they haven’t. Besides, it WILL be better on PS3, being natively developed for it. At least we won’t have to swap discs. ;P

Just wanted to say after todays shi*box 360 conferance…. WTF…. how come our all time greatest rpg Final Fantasy goes to them DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT :@
713
ChateauDIf | July 14th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
Final Fantasy died after Enix merge. After FFX, they all sucked, big time. That’s why we need a remake of Square Soft’s greatest: Cloud ****ing strife.
714
hex | July 14th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
Actually it was ours.
At the last TGS and the last SE event both trailers said “Only on Playstation 3″.
Many people went out and picked up PS3s after that in confidence.
So people try and do the half full/ silver lining crap all that they want but it does not change anything.
(For the record Star Ocean 4 was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive also)
715
Moridin Amalasan | July 14th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
Oh, and nthing the remake of FFVII. We need it. Badly. They have been saying that the Compilation would end in a big way..

Moridin Amalasan | July 14th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
And also.. What is with people saying MGS4 could still be ported to 360? I mean.. C’mon. Do they really want 5-6 disc games?
718
Kyen777 | July 14th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
Yeah you’re right. Sony needs to pay for SE to make them a FFVII Remake cause that game will probably blow FFXIII out of the water. So many people would pay money for that game, and ps3 would go off shelves. I would suggest a $50 decrease in the ps3s price so it can match with the original price gap.
719
WestSiide | July 14th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
@683
I agree. This is a huge blow to sonys exclusive library. FF13 is the biggest exclusive next to MGS4. Microsofts E3 conference was a bit “meh.” Its biggest gun is GeOW3. The avatars are a clear rip off of Miis and Sonys home. Not very innovating. My prediction of sonys conference are Killzone, Home, LBP, Resistance2, Socom, as their heavy hitters. Problem is these are games that we all know about. Although awesome games, MS’s announcement of FF13 might just be enough to declare them winners this E3. I was very shocked to hear about this and can only think “why and how?” What Sony needs to do, and if they dont have something they better be quick, is to announce something with the same amount of SHOCK factor. #683 is correct. The only way to do that is to hurt MS where it hurts by announcing a game of that caliber. Although i have no desire to play a halo game, it would be perfect retaliation for the FF steal. What concerns me the most is that MS has the resources (money) to continually steal games that were once exclusives. This is starting to become a trend and one that doesnt seem to be going away anytime soon. Sony better pull something out of their a**.
720
ChateauDIf | July 14th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
I think the only reason people still buy Final Fantasy is BECAUSE of FFVII.

Well the square forums are up in a buzz moderators booting and banning people left and right. Well from a collectors stand point I already got FF7 so no need for a remake the game is good but ff4/ff6 was more challenging and fun. Let FF7 die Square when you loss Nobuo Uemastu it should of been a good clue that Enix and dear friends concent (where he official left) should of been a hint that Enix is not in the best interest of merger. I need a ps3 chrono trigger/Secret of Evermore/f… I’d take a Rad Racer (most of you do not know what that is).
On serious note, Sony What is the plan? Your install base is not happy bout FF13 going multiplatform and you knew this. The people on both sides of the console war are tired of fps, we have been shooting them up since the November 19th and before that on the rival. Honestly, I’ll stay not really interested in Home (going to be filled with guys asking all other characters are they girls). Look at second life and even most mmos aka Perverts playland. LBP while interesting is not what I want. Just Keep FF13 and for the love of god keep the entire block let them have 1 but not all. You know each generation gets three FFs so 14 and 15 better stay with us. NES = FF 1-3, Super famicom ff4-6, PSone ff7-9, ps 2 ffx-12. I like 11 leave it alone lol. Now what I did not count was tactics, mystic quest, antholgies, origins and so on. Sony please work with Square and tell them to get away from FF7 and stop milking that cow
Back to a collectors point of view being that this now ruins the square’s target list I now have to buy both games and the collectors. I just got a freakin unopen super mario rpg hate when s… gets thrown on to the collectors list late bah.

Remaking FFVII would the perfect way to end it. Bring Cloud back with better graphic, voice acting, and maybe new secret within the game but i do understand that they have had the game going for 10 years but honestly, do you thin the fans really care?

IT GETS FUNNIER WITH THE ea PRESS CONFERENCE.
dang caps lock….anywho, id software is now apart of EA, it looks as if Bungie will be working with EA now as well. i guess EA has even deeper pockets than MS does. this could easily mean a halo type game on the ps3. looks like you were right

they sure aren’t are they.
727
TheVesra | July 14th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
actually, let me rephrase that, they are loyal, to money.
also, i do know what rad racer is thankyouverymuch. i would also like a secret of evermore sequel.
728
Heavenly_King | July 14th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
For the ones talking about FFXIII:
We have A LOT of upcoming titles like: GOW3, R2, KZ2, WNC, UNCHARTED2 (they will obviously make a sequel), LBP, GT5, MT2, TEKKEN6, INFAMOUS, HOME, SOCOM: CONFRONTATION, etc. That is why the PS3 is an awesome console!!
You just need to calm down people, you will still get the game. I know a lot of people bought a PS3 instead of a Wii or a 360 because of FF series exclusivity; but hey aside of that game you still got A LOT of triple AAA titles not just like MICROCRAP that their only upcoming AAA titles are Gears2, and “Crappy Human” lol.
I know Sony will do something tomorrow that will surprise all of us. Patience is a virtue, so lets wait for tomorrow. SONY WILL NOT DISAPPOINT US.

you never know what sony has planned out for E3, for all we know, they could have ffx13 back by now, and you could all be wasting your time typing and reading each otha’s comments (like me:)
Sony needs to move to the next, next level. i got a feeling they got some major sh** planned out, maybe they knew ms was gonna take ffx13, they could get it back, and look even better than ever. who knows.
733
Jason | July 14th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
Sony needs to comment and let us know how they lost a game as big as FFXIII that was announced as a PS3 exclusive and what they did to try and stop it from happening…If they even tried anything at all.

Yslaire | July 14th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
“This is the fun part, why would Microsoft need to make such a desperate last minute move? My guess is they knew Sony is going to drop something HUGE.”
Well, that’s a really curious spin there… “(…) a desperate last minute move”. O_o Come on ! On the contrary, the Square-Enix announcement is the HUGEST blow i couldn’t have thought possible. If i remember correctly, there was an “exclusive on PS3″ logo on the FF13 trailer not a long time ago.
They didn’t even get a timed-exclusive release for the PS3…
WOW. What happened ? What’s going on with the high-end executives running the playstation business ?
Sony not good at business CONFIRMED ?
Sony not able to see what’s important and what’s not anymore ? What’s an urgent feature and what could be released later (i’m thinking about the recent firmware update and the mixed reactions to it).
One would think that, once in a while, you need to lose an heavy amount of money to get way more later…
I just still can’t believe what happened today… :/

Moridin Amalasan | July 14th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Personally, I think that Sony has something up their sleeve. They had to have known this would happen. A business move like Squeenix’s doesn’t happen when their CEO wakes up and goes “LET’S GIVE IT TO MS LOL”. They would have informed Sony in advance. We will be getting something for this, is my guess. Sony will be prepared.
I hope.

Heavenly_King where are the rpgs? Where is the thought provoking Storyline out of those. I like the ps3 as much as the next person but you do have to respect that we are tired of shooters and tired of action adventures. We want a rpg. And most Square fans are tired of FF7. We want a fresh game, fresh storyline. No disrespect but rpgs were big in the past and they still are big in the future. Think about M$ pulled another paramount tactic on this but they have a plan which is take something that made playstation great. Thats are RPGs. Look at how many are asking for ff7 (game was ok but yeah tired of it and tired of it being milked)? Some gamers do not care and I respect that but Sony definitely needs to get on the ball on this? They want a larger install base not disrespect to the haze fans but we got too many FPS
742
Chacalj81 | July 14th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
Sony only replies to positive and congratulatory comments. Sony does care, they just are inept.
743
Pwee | July 14th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
lol, sad that people would sell there PS3 over a game which is still availble for the PS3. :/
Don’t even care about FF games tbh.
744
Zorox | July 14th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
I wonder how many shooters Sony is going to show tomorrow. How about some variety? How about some RPGs? Honestly, I don’t know what Sony can do to repair the disaster of today.
745
FFObsessed | July 14th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
The only counter for FFXIII is a FFVII: Remake. Fans have been demanding it ever since 05 but Square and Sony keep ignoring them. If they announce it 2moro then all will be forgiven and people will remain excited for the PS3.
If it’s not announced 2moro, Sony are done, even the staunchest PS3 fans will lose faith in the system and Sony will be recognised as completely clueless and mocked for letting the PS3 fail so badly.
746
Yslaire | July 14th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
“The only counter for FFXIII is a FFVII: Remake.”
I don’t think so.
Even if some people are dying for this to become real, the plot / locations won’t be something new. There won’t be any surprises at all. Square-Enix would have a huge work to be done to bring some fresh air in this remake.
Kingdom Heart 3 (”real” PS3 exclusive) + Monster Hunter 3 (Wii & PS3) + FFv13 (”real” PS3 exclusive) could be a big deal.

Um, so? All the other FF games were new and they didn’t sell nearly as much as the king: FF7. FF7 is the most well regarded in the series.

CommanderLander | July 14th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
@ MADARAmagekyo
My PSN is Commander Lander. I agree that it might be time for Sony to start reconsidering their policy for dishing out money for exclusives to at least get some “non-exclusives” as you called them. The main one I am thinking of is Gears of War 3. I know Microsoft only has a two game contract with them so hopefully Sony can make the 3rd game multiplatform.
@terribledeli
Good valid points. Yes, the Halo IP is owned by Microsoft, but the terms of the contract concerning Bungie’s departure are confidential. It is possible there is something in there that we do not know about. Remember, there was talk of a Halo for the DS at one point. And if you told me yesterday that FFXIII would be on the 360, I could have written pages on why that would never happen, but it did!
The main point I wanted to make was that this FFXIII move just reeks of desperation. Something is going to go down tomorrow, probably not Halo 4, but something.
I disagree with you about Sony not having to fix anything. I think they do. For every exclusive they lose, its another reason not to buy a PS3. I personally bought my PS3 knowing that FFXIII would come out eventually. If I had known that it would be on the 360… things might be different.
@Syd
You honestly do not believe a Halo 4 announcement would trump the FFXIII announcement? Granted I could care less about Halo on the ps3, but it would be a bigger hit to Microsoft than this is to Sony. And I somewhat agree with you that this one announcement might prevent the ps3 from “crushing” the 360. It might prolong Sony from having the market share in North America…
@thatsmartguywiththefro
Agreed, this is definitely not a reason to jump ship to the 360. Give it time people. At least the ps3 will not break on you, My 360 has broken twice.
@WestSiide
Sony has to have something up their sleeves or MS has totally taken this E3. If not something ridiculous like Halo, maybe a Kingdom Hearts and a FFVII remake? Would that even be a worthy counter though?
@Juben
Nice Nobuo Uemastu references. He did the music in Rad Racer as well. I was at the Dear Friends concert and it was amazing.
