  • @138 It happens with every company in the gaming industry. Sometimes its something minor like the Valkyrie Chronicles thing. Other times its major. Atleast Sony listens to what their fans what (In-Game XMB/Trohpies) unlike Nintendo who honestly doesn’t give a [DELETED] (To busy swimming in cash right now)about what gamers what.

But all companies don’t break a ‘promise’ (if you can call it that) on purpose. Its very likely that the spot a few last minute errors in the program and are fixing it. Those little things happen all the time. ANd it can really piss you off when you have a dead line (I know it pisses me off) Would you have Life With Playstation released buggy and potentially do damage to your system, or would you like a fully functioning piece of software?

@140 Not widespread I know, but I know my local and neighboring Best Buy/Wal-Mart have the cards. Just saw a couple of them today.

  • can’t wait for my girlfriend to get home so we can play Eden, she’s making me wait!

sometimes the simple pleasures are the best in life!

good music, good friends, and hash browns and seaweed.

    snoogins.

  • @120

perhaps i overreacted. i’ll admit that. but it’s just that it’s tiring when people get great updates then whine and complain or post a book of stuff they want (ane even worse when some of that stuff we already have). it sounds like people who are just here to complain.

so that was the reason for my reaction. i however didn’t call him any names or insult him directly. i insulted his comments. so before you go off on a tangent like his personal super hero relax and watch your self. the only person doing the things you said is you.

and i’ve left my PS3 playing music for 3 hours and it never changed from the planet visualization. fyi.

  • what the hell is live with playstation?

  • @154

Its a news/weather app that was suppose to be available today apparently. Its basically a glorified (but cooler looking) Wii weatehr and News channel.

  • @152SDkngsht

this is all about games, anyway, I say no reason to get bent out of shape over something so trivial!

I mean, video games are supposed to be FUN!

and without feedback from us gamers, then the PS3 would never be updated again, as SONY would think all is well and fine.

I’ve been posting here since the blog started and i got my 60-gig launch unit. In that time I have seen the PS3 get better and better..

i think any and all suggestions about what is still needed/broke with the PS3 are relevant and important.

    peace

  • madden is taking all day 2 download!!!!!!

  • How come Jeff only replied to comments about Eden and Soul Calibur, and not the hundreds of comments asking where ‘Life with Playstation’ is?

  • I’m talking about the actual music visualizations with the funky visual effects and colors, not the XMB ribbon or the rotating planet Gaia, fyi.

  • maybe ps3 life will come out at 12

  • maybe the guy who said it was gonna be released today got fired, who knows.. just wait and see

  • Hay what happened to Life with Playstation? It’s the end of the month and it’s not here yet and Jack Tretton said it would be here by the end of the month. The least that could be done is an explanation of why it is not here. Please Respond

  • oh jack said it, well wtf

  • Hay what happened to Life with PlayStation? Jack Tretton said it would be released by the end of the month at E3. The least that can be done is an explanation of why it is not here? PLEASE RESPOND

  • @158

Ever think that he just may not be on right now? I mean the last reply he made was almost 2 hours ago. He probably doesn’t spent every waking hour of the day reading the Blog like most people here.

  • I like the update. Good quality content.

  • @156

    agreed.

just annoying when it’s that long and the person types that much when they’re ill informed.

like the Living with Playstation thing. yeah so it didn’t come today. it could come later it could come next thursday. i understand what they said but things happen. and i’d rather wait another week than have a half @ss service.

with all the cool demos and eden in this update people are crying cause they didn’t get the PS3 version of the weather channel?

i agree people should relax which is why i apologized and let it go.

  • hey

  • Third party PS1 games!

    Playstation Cards!

    kthnxbye

  • i will add though…with eden available, and demos for Madden and Facebreaker and Indiana Jones anyone sitting here on this blog crying about the PS3 weather channel is lame as hell.

it didn’t come. get over it. it’ll be here next week. you wouldn’t even know it was coming if they didn’t say it. we finally get 3 good demos and eden and people want to talke about a news and weather channel?

turn on your tv and go away already.

  • Unfortunately, I could care less about PixelJunk Eden and the Last Guy. Why not bring something that many gamers will want to try such as the multiple award winning aquatic action-shooter game named “Undertow”. It has a 15-level single-player campaign and 2 multiplayer modes. This game has been available on one of the competition’s online multiplayer gaming and digital media delivery service since Nov. 2007. We PS3 owners would greatly benefit from having access to this very cool game.

  • Where is Life with Playstation??

I was really looking forward to it… :(

  • Life with Playstation and Home are both myths created by the corporate big-heads to keep us, the loyal PS fans, from thinking we’ve gotten ripped off. I’m getting close to believing this, however, especially since no one will respond to any questions involving either.

And if I’m wrong, someone at Sony needs to tell me!

  • undertow by chair entertainment, now owned by epic games.. i don’t think this will come to ps3

  • Wow I’m almost not surprised that Life With PlayStation didn’t make it’s debut as planned. These groin kicks called missed release dates are becoming too common :(.

  • @172 – I could care less about PixelJunk Eden and the Last Guy. Why not bring something that many gamers will want to try

Oh since you don’t like it, it must mean the majority doesn’t either, right?

  • @177

    libregkd_117

yep, didn’t you know?… that’s how it works around here

  • Grace, that was an awesome post.

It’s been a long time since I’ve played something so wonderfull like Eden.

I’m downloading the demos now and – god! – those songs on Soulcalibur was so nice.

There is an chance to bring us Soul Blade, the game that created Soulcalibur? That game was so nice!

For you guys that are yelling about “life with PlayStation”: wait and calm down.

  • again stop complaining and wait at 12:00am then start you whining

  • Is there a way to download the conference? Or was it up for a limited time? I meant to download it when it was released but was busy.

How do they already have DLC for SCIV? Seems as they left this stuff out of the game on purpose just so they can make more $ on the actual “full” game. I guess I will definitely avoid buying this game – period.

  • @178

    That’s really unfortunate.

And guys…if you desperately needs the news and weather right now. You may want to invest in something called the internet…

  • Yeah 181, it’s still up in the store. Look around for it.

  • I’m totally amazed by the fact that almost nobody is complaining about paying for DLC for Soul Calibur when the game is not even a week old!!!!

Shame on Namco Bandai since it’s almost like the stuff is already on the disk, but you just pay more money to unlock it. Or simply stuff they pulled out at the last minute so they could sell it back 3 days after the game comes out.

But also shame on Sony for letting this happen. I know you’re getting a cut, and I know you need the money. But common, DLC is good only to keep a game going after a few months, not a few days after it came out. Truly a joke! I bought SCIV but if I had known this was coming in, I would not have bought it just because I feel this is pushing the limit way to hard. And trust me, I will seriously think about buying another game from Namco again. I know it’s not much money, but it’s simply good principles.

  • Cant wait to get home and Get my Downloading Grove on :P

Pixel Junk Eden Yea Buddie! :D

We really need our Playstation Blog Linked to our PSN account plus now added Playstation.com

Thank way we can get rid of these Spammers! 8)

Hints the ones that dont know there stuff on the PS3 LOL :P

Just wait guys on the Life with Playstation its not Midnight yet! :P

  • Jeff, hope you read it

I think it would be nice if you posted preview pics or thumbs for themes to see how they look like, as well as wallpapers.

Is not because I am too lazy to turn on my ps3, but a lot of times I can’t use it, even for days, and i hate to wait until i can, and then download it to see how they are.

Is just a little suggestion. Thanks

  • I like that yellow eden theme but it’s difficult to see notifications

  • It’s a good update, but Sony really needs to hurry up with a lot of things. I appreciate quality over quantity, but things are getting worse.

    Well, Eden > everything else.

  • @183

I agree. While I was looking forward to Life with Playstation, this update totally makes up for the delay IMO. PixelJunk Eden, Madden, this is gonna be a fun week! I’d much rather Sony hold off and release products when they get all the bugs worked out!

  • @185

A game is finished long before it actually comes out so you can’t blame them for updating so soon. As to whether or not they actually did the work on the DLC after they started burning all the discs is the real question.

More than likely though, is that they had some stuff finished or almost finished but there wasn’t enough time to have it put onto the final game and decided to use it as DLC.

The price is worth it though, its some SCIII custom clothing, which is a plus for me since I can recreate a few characters now.

  • Hahaha… I made Moore look like Stephanie from Lazy Town with a fat princess body :)

  • @185
about the SCIV dlc already for sale..

here is what Kotaku had to say about it:

    and i quote:

“You can also enjoy paying to unlock content already burnt to your Soulcalibur IV game disc for the low, low price of $1.49. What a fantastic idea! Even smarter? Not doing that!”

    lol!

  • WHERE IS LIFE WITH PLAYSTATION HU???? JERKS =(

  • I’m going to download Pixel Junk Eden right now. Thanks for this awesome update!!!!!!

  • So, where are the PS1 Classics?
You guys always say, “Talk to the Publishers”
Okay, Sony released Legend of Dragoon, where is that?
    Yea, that’s what I thought.
There are a ton of games on the JPN PSN, and we have english versions of these games too. How bout some love for the other two markets?
    [/rant]

    Nice update otherwise.

  • Why exactly are our questions regarding Life with PlayStation being ignored? It was said at E3 two weeks and two days ago that we’d see it at the end of the month, which is today, and it’s not up. All we want to know it what’s going on, but apparently we’re not supposed to know.

    That’s not cool.

  • @193

That not the right info, and the have since changed it. The DLC is NOT available on the disc. Besides, 3 MB is way to big for just an unlock code.

    @197

And as I said, ever think that they aren’t on right now? They DO have a life you know.

  • @179.
Im not going to “wait and calm down”. Sony said TODAY it was suppose to come out. Not tomorrow or after tomorrow. When you put a realese date on a product, it comes out on that date.
But its ALWAYS like this with Sony.

  • my god. What the [DELETED] is wrong with you people???!! You just got like 5 demos and a downloadable game and you;re getting worked up about not getting a PS3 version of the [DELETED] weather channel??????!!!! Get a life people.

OT: Solid update. Keep ’em coming! And I don’t really care if you release the stupid PS1 games or not. I’d much rather play some of the new PSN games.
