I’m loving the vast amount of additions every week. These past couple of weeks have added tons of movies and shows. I can’t understand the people griping though. For as new as the store is, we have LOADS of content. And if these updates keep being this size, we will have more than enough to choose from in a couple short months.
The only thing I can think of that may be missing is one particular (LARGE) movie studio…and maybe a couple more networks. Other than that, I’m a regular renter….at least a couple a week. Please keep this up!

I am Canadian myself and at first I wanted the video service but now I don’t care. My ISP went onto that bandwith limiit per month bandwagon so the video service would drive up my bandwith through the roof. Not to mention I am subscribed to a mail in rental service.
However, I must commend Sony for actually doing so well with their updates on the movie service which is not very old and giving so much great content to Canada’s neighbours down in the U.S.
As for my fellow Canadians who want the video service. It is not easy to get it here and it took Microsoft a very long time to get the video service in Canada. On top of it all they don’t even have TV shows on Xbox Live Marketplace in Canada. Reason being there is a lot of people that Sony must go through to be able to put the video service up in Canada and not to mention Quebecs laws.
Overall, though Sony its nice to see you are trying to expand PSN to be a better service. I just wish that you would give us an update on the Home invite situation since I am dissapointed along with the many others who didn’t get in.

Thanks Grace.
Hey fellow Canadians, it’s not Sony stalling the video service for us, it’s our Canadian laws.
Sony said they are working on other countries, but it will take time.
So write your MP and maybe they can help the rest of us Canadians.

I understand that you guys need to go through different laws here in Canada but I was thinking, since a lot of American shows are simulcast on Canadian networks, couldn’t you guys give us, for example Family Guy on Global rather than Family Guy on FOX. What I mean is, rather than clicking on FOX, then clicking on Family Guy, you click on Global then Family Guy. I`m sure my Canadian friends here know what I mean because every time we go to watch a FOX show on FOX, it gets covered up by Global, can’t the same be done here?
Just a suggestion.

I STRONGLY agree with kurtkbee on post 13! He’s mentioned some GREAT features that would fit in perfectly in the Playstation Store Movie Downloads! Sony’s got a lot of potential, and I know from the past that Sony listens to their fans, so… LISTEN! Me and I’m pretty sure a ton of other people would love to see what you guys can do with these great services that you’re offering. I have confidence that Sony, you’ll pull through!

I find it awesome that Bladerunner is # five on the top download list. I did not get it as the bad@$$ Bluray five disc set was only like twenty dollars or so. It comes with five different versions of the movie as well, beat that.
Workprint
Original U.S. Theatre Version
Original Interntional Theatre Version
Director’s Cut (no voice over narration) :(
Final Cut (no voice over narration) :(
The Final Cut also has new footage and CGI scenes in it.
Sorry to be such a fanboy, but Bladerunner rocks!

@39 would love info on if those weekly invite rumors are true, since I too have not been invited, looks like no one wants me at the party *sigh* seems like we’ll have to wait till next week and see if anyone says they’ve gotten invited on the forums…
awesome update on the store, do wish there was some sort of package deal to download so many a month for a good price with so many other ways to get movies these days. Keep up the good additions though!

In the Name of the King is 16…..wowwwww!! and Harold and Kumar: Escape from Guantanamo Bay is number 1 for top download……wowwwwww! I can’t believe it. Oh lord, I can’t believe it. That movie was bad except for the bottomless party, that was genius. Much props goes out to the guy who thought of that. But still, that shouldn’t be reason enough for it to number 1. Wowwwwwww! I just can’t believe it.

heh, why don’t you guys just cobble together a Canadian video store so every time you give an update there isn’t a flood of “WHEN ARE WE GETTING A CANADA STORE!” spam?
72
sunnycat | September 6th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
It would be nice to have the video store in Canada Sony.

artofwar420 | September 6th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
If only it didn’t have DRM, I’d go nuts with all this content, I’d happily pay for it.
Not that DRM-free content is any more available in other places, it’s very rare (read: I haven’t found ANY!) I’m just kind of tired of this.
I’m not criticizing just you guys (Sony), but the whole industry, they gotta understand that WE WILL PAY, we shouldn’t be treated as “potential pirates”, come on!
*That’s my rant for the year*
74
artofwar420 | September 6th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
I of course meant DRM-FREE VIDEO. As Amazon and other places are carrying DRM-free mp3s.

“We’ve also added the following feature films to the Store: The Forbidden Kingdom” Oh really? I’ve been looking for like 15 mins… not there. You really shouldn’t put movies or episodes on these lists if you don’t actually add them to the store!
76
willmorse | September 7th, 2008 at 3:27 am
I have a few mythbusters episodes that are incomplete, they don’t even show how the myth ends!
I downloaded “way of the gun” ,and the audio is terrible. It pops and clicks the whole movie.
I hope someone can fix this because I’m getting tired of being ignored by sony.
anybody else having similar problems?

Aisin | September 7th, 2008 at 3:43 am
Where is The Forbidden Kingdom in the video store? I got all excited after reading this post and went to purchase it but it seems to not be there. :\

SiggeLund | September 8th, 2008 at 2:51 am
Bring this to Europe! We have waited long enough now! >=(
Or do you WANT us to keep pirating?

mustaphadamus | September 8th, 2008 at 7:00 am
@13
I would LOVE to cancel my Netflix rental service and go exclusively with Sony’s service BUT, Netflix s all you can eat. Where at PSN is what, 3.99 a pop or something like that? If they get their act together and offer a subscription I am all over it.
80
toombzie | September 8th, 2008 at 11:54 am
search doesn’t work in the video store! i searched “unforgiven” and it returned no results, but the movie is obviously listed for purchase and rent.

MrCamo | September 8th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
I am a little late, is there a place other than the PS3 where i can find a full list of the Media Avaialable? Is there any plan to add music downloads to this service? You could also add movie posters as a freebie download for screen saver etc…
82
MrCamo | September 8th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
I agree with post 48,
You really need like an infomercial or webinars that show the power of what the PS3 can do. When i am trying to figure out how to stream movies and Live TV to the PS3, people on the forums wonder why on earth i want to stream TV to the PS3, they have no idea what Reemote Play does. I really think you need to bundle a PSP or do some promtions to convey how the two work together. My friend puked when i popped my memory stick into my 60Bg, added a few playlists, and popped it back into my PSP. They were like, don’t you need a PC to do that? I was like no….

The Universe season 2, sweet!!! I love that show. Which reminds me, how about getting the Science Channel on the PSN, lots of good shows on that. Also noticed Blazing Saddles,Mel Brooks rules! so how about Spaceballs on Blu-Ray!
