I am suprised that Dead Space already has a paid DLC and a free DLC when it doesn’t come out till Tuesday. I think its stupid though that the companies release DLC before the game even comes out and I would never support that.
As for paid themes I disagree with that too because it reminds me of another rival company which I won’t name.
I also think its horrible that we in North America must purchase Qore to get the “EXCLUSIVE” Valkaryia Chronicles demo which has yet to be announced when its free. And those people in Europe get the game for free which I am glad. Sony honestly people have ways to access these things.
In regards to Mega Man 9 and being “oh so retro” Capcom FAILS! Back in 1987 or whatever year there wasn’t a downloadable content stuff. You got what you got in the box and that was all. Trying to nickle and dime people is just sad. I will not be supporting Capcom and only purchased Mega Man 9.
That game thats artistic (sorry forgot the name) I will look into.

I don’t mind paying for Disruptive Media or smobile themes, but I definitely won’t pay a dime for a Bioshock theme, especially considering the sub-par port they expect us to pay 60 bucks for. It’s my opinion that game related themes should always remain free. They’re really nothing more than advertisements and game developers should provide them as a courtesy to their fans if they want to. Charging for them is an insult to their fans. In contrast, themes about hot beach babes are outside of the gaming realm and their pricetags are justified by their aesthetic quality.
In addition, I will also be passing on the megaman9 addons. Isn’t the only real point of those being able to collect all of the skill points? Since we don’t get rewarded with trophies, what’s the purpose of collecting those skill points anyway? (besides, they’re insanely difficult to collect) Sorry capcom, next time provide some incentives to buy your updates.

cdllcpimpin | October 9th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Wait how are you going to regulate how much the people play the demo for Warhawk? Are the people that bought the game getting screwed because of this?
Dylan Jobe replied on October 9, 2008 at 6:45 pm
we limit the number of maps/modes that players have access to in the demo.
If players enjoy the game, the can click “buy now” and convert the demo to the full version.

kspraydad | October 9th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
BTW…
I’d like to say THANK YOU to SONY for keeping CDN prices inline with US even thought there is now a 10% difference … I don’t know how long you can keep it like that but it is appreciated (I’m NOT one of the Canucks that complained to bring it to par in the first place btw).
On a $399 purchase we Canucks are getting a $40 break vs the US.

MAJOR QUESTION!!!
Will the Warhawk Demo support trophies??
Because some of the trophies for the original game can be received from tutorials, and the demo has tutorials…?
2nd Question: Will buyers of the full game be able to play demo players.. or not?
3rd Question: Did Dead Space even come out yet?
GREAT UPDATE!!
Linger in Shadows Looks AMAZING!!GJ
Can not wait for EndWar!!
You Have To Create A University of South Florida Theme!! Go Bulls!
Matheaks
P.S. I don’t go to USF
Dylan Jobe replied on October 9, 2008 at 6:46 pm

Really didn’t see the Warhawk demo coming. Only three things I downloaded from this update, but I don’t need every update to focus on what I like. Happy UpDay. :D
167
Theossie | October 9th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
They will be brand new copies that will be bought for the winners btw..
Just wanted to say that because one of the reasons I’m doing it is because I like the game so much and appreciate the support it has received..

How come PSN games are starting to creep toward $15? I understand the dev sets the price, but still…

Wuggyboobeaufuf | October 9th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
Linger In Shadows is available now.
It’s also DLC – WHICH IS NOT OWNERSHIP!
How many threads do I have to post in before you guys at Sony get a bloody clue?
GIVE ME PHYSICAL MEDIA AND I’LL BUY IT. ANYTHING ELSE IS A SHAM.
173
Koroshiya | October 9th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
@Wuggyboobeaufuf
Did you really expect them to put a 100mb file on an entire Blu-ray disc??? What a waste of space that would be!
174
mingjinko | October 9th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
I love how the makers of Civ Rev have no problem adding new scenarios and map packs, but when it came to the implementation of trophies it was just SUCH a hassle.
175
Cliff Hanger | October 9th, 2008 at 7:11 pm
And to think I nearly bought Guilty Gear Judgment yesterday for $15, having never seen it in a store until then. Guess I’ll be grabbing that, LiS and Protoman today.

Great update this week, how can one complain?
178
Cliff Hanger | October 9th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
mingjinko: Not to mention a waste of money. There’s no way in heck that they could afford to offer a physical disc for $2. If it comes to the choice of ‘non-ownership’ for $3 or ownership for $15+, I’ll take the risk of the Store servers going down.

TheZed | October 9th, 2008 at 7:57 pm
Best. Update. Ever!
Qore, several new DL games (including Linger), tons of add on content, and a Warhawk demo! I’ve been on the fence about that game for a few months, time to pick a side.
The only thing I don’t like about this demo is the Mega man 9 add-ons. Only two weeks after MegaMan 9s release and two add-ons come out? Kind of shady.

cmargary | October 9th, 2008 at 9:28 pm
@189
Qore isn’t a piece of Sh** really… it’s just miss of a lot of thing that can make really cool. Like a comments section for each episode, 0 ads (finally I don’t see the burgerking one, I had enough when I played Fight night round 3 in the other console.
I love the layout, moving background and to be interactive; but need more content, reviews and previews. Not just interviews that is really good but need to be a part of the qore issue.
What I wonder, when home come and the publishers support it and they put rooms and info of games and upcoming games then qore will begging to be useless a little bit.
193
Gaia | October 9th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
Question: I’ve purchased a premium theme, but I can’t figure out how to toggle backgrounds. It shows 2 different backgrounds in the preview. How do I find/toggle the second one? Thanks.

Great update, thanks a lot for the Warhawk demo, always wanted to try the game out before buying it.
But I’m having a problem now, I downloaded the game through my account at my cousin’s house on his PS3, when I got home and downloaded it on my PS3 it wouldn’t play, instead I got this.
“An error occurred during the start operation.
(B0029752)” Can anyone explain why it’s doing that?

homer.simpson | October 9th, 2008 at 9:55 pm
Wow! What a great update. Thanks for Puzzle Quest! I know this will lead to many a late nights. And if you provide a Virginia Tech theme I’ll gladly pay for it!

Koroshiya | October 9th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
@Wuggyboobeaufuf
Since when have you ever seen anything related to the PS3 on UMD? UMD = PSP, not PS3.
As for DVD’s you must not have been keeping up for the past 2 years. Sony has never made anything for the PS3 on DVD because we now have Blu-ray.
Sorry, but the downloadable game strategy is here to stay whether you like it or not. It’s not just Sony doing it, both the 360 and Wii are doing it as well. No one is going to put small 100mb files on physical media. The production costs are too high, and the sales wouldn’t even come close to the manufacturing costs.
198
Ghostfather | October 9th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
woah just watched the Shaun White snowboarding video on Qore, how do we win that board?!?!?
199
Wuggyboobeaufuf | October 9th, 2008 at 11:47 pm
>Since when have you ever seen anything >related to the PS3 on UMD? UMD = PSP, not >PS3.
Yeah – and since we’re getting SuperStardust on PSP, why can’t we have this?
>As for DVD’s you must not have been keeping >up for the past 2 years. Sony has never made >anything for the PS3 on DVD because we now >have Blu-ray.
If they have Blu-Ray, then why the hell aren’t they using it? DLC is contrary to the very nature of Blu-Ray.
>Sorry, but the downloadable game strategy is >here to stay whether you like it or not.
Only if you’re willing to bend over and take it. If you fight back, companies will eventually listen and do what you want. You just have to smack them upside the head a bit to knock some sense into them.
>It’s not just Sony doing it, both the 360 >and Wii are doing it as well. No one is >going to put small 100mb files on physical >media.
And I don’t buy from them either. I’m not a hypocrite. DLC is not ownership – no matter what platform it’s on.

Koroshiya | October 10th, 2008 at 12:09 am
@Wuggyboobeaufuf
It’s a 5 minute graphical demo that is only a little over 100mb in size. No company in their right mind would distribute that on any sort of physical media. It sells to a niche audience and the cost of producing and shipping it to stores would be way to much for something that sells for only $2.99
For games that are larger in size, I agree with you that having a physical copy is better. A 100mb file that is no longer than 5 minutes in one play cycle that appeals to a very small crowd isn’t cost effective enough to produce in physical form.
