I’m gonna have to agree with most people….this is my first entry in the SOCOM line-up and I can’t say I’m terribly impressed with the money I spent for it. Can’t log in, servers full, no trophy support (yet), no in-game tutorial for newbies, still seems like there are bugs…

You guys should fix these issues or you won’t be seeing too many people having fun with SOCOM.

What the hell is going on? Is this game up and running? F@#KN Canadian’s! I’m getting corrupt files and everything, thats y i like Infinity Ward with CALL OF DUTY! Slant Six and zipper interactive are all to blame for all of this….Do not have a release date and then you cannot even get on the f!@kn GAME! All of you should be shipped to Iraq and f@#kn BLOWN UP! This is ridiculous!!! DOWN WITH THE F!@KS!!!!!

This is like last August when Warhawk came out. Bad servers for the first 4 months or so of the game. I can see the beta did a lot of good.

I don’t really mind about the trophies, but I am really disappointed about the party system that doesn’t work as advertised.

Will they fix the party system soon?

I love the series, just fix everything!

Trophies are cool for future replay during a release drought. I can wait for the patch. Thanks for the heads up. The blue tooth headset rocks with my ps3 and my phone! Awesome job on the headset Sony.

Retroactive Trophies?

The box does say Trophies on the back. Doesn’t say Trophies coming soon. Oh well, either way I don’t care because I probably won’t play Socom. At least if I do it won’t be anytime soon since I’m busy w/ KZ2. :P ;)Plus I’m so busy jumping from campaign to campaign in all these other games I don’t have much time for an online game to hold me back from playing all these games…..

Anyway I sure am Glad I got the game for $10. My Motorola HS850 was shoddy when it worked, finally won’t connect, deleted profile and can’t even pair it now so I needed a new headset which is the only reason I bought this package. So Socom really only cost me $10 anyway since I would have had to pay $50 for the headset anyway. Then again, what’s with $50 for the headset and $60 for Socom with? Shouldn’t the headset be $30-40?

As for the headset. It’s great but at the same time flawed. I’m not sure about the ear piece {wraps around your ear part) moving up and down but not out. With the Motorola it’s nice how they move out so you con hook it on your ear…

Also, Sony, check out the Bose earbuds. This headset would have been so much better if you made 3 pieces that could clip into the headset for the earpiece. That way everyone would have a great piece that fit them. It’s not half bad as is, but for me it’s a bit to big and hurts my ear after a while. So please, not that’s going to do me any good, look into the Bose TriPort in ear headphones. Possibly look into making this headset that includes 3 ear buds than can clip into the headset so everyone has an earpiece that fits their ear…. Because as it stands now the earpiece is too big for me and it starts to hurt my ear…

oh my gosh, i go into more debt so i can play this game. i spend a whole afternoon dl the update for the ps3, then the update for the game. the game tells me my profile data is corrupyt. i accidently delete the update data instead of the profile data so i have to redownload the update which takes an hour and a half. finally start up the game and wtf? the servers are down. Sony, you just don’t care about quality anymore. You think that because Sony is a brand of excellence you can get away with all this crap? give me a break. The only way I can see you redeeming yourself to many of your fellow fans is releasing Home next month or else people like myself are gonna ditch this honk of shiny plastic out the window for the 360 xbox live experience. get your act together and fast.

Its not the fact that it doesent have trophies (yet) that bothers me.

Its the fact that no one said anything before its release.

You guys (who evers to blame) wait for people to buy the game,put it in, find out theres no trophies, post a comment on the blog AND THEN say
“We’ve noticed a couple of comments today on the blog from gamers who purchased SOCOM Confrontation; you’ve been asking “Where are the trophies?”
Well, I just wrapped up a conversation with the SOCOM team, where they’ve confirmed the fact that trophies *will* be coming, via a patch, within the next couple of weeks.”

Your telling us this NOW?

Did the Socom team expect no one to notice?

If “the socom team” says weve got to wait a couple of weeks for a patch, then they new %100 that there wernt going to be trophies on day one,yet kept their traps shut about it.

Once again, its not the trophies that bother me, its that they knew about yet chose to say nothing about it. (untill people who bought the game started speaking up)

“oh yea….they noticed that huh….well….tell them we’ll release a patch for it in a couple of weeks”

*insert curse words of choice here*

On a side note, thanks Jeff for finding out about this for us. (since they didnt feel the need to tell us this themselves)

You guys (Sony and the Socom team) should be severely ashamed! Wow, saying all this time that we would have trophies and then months later they can’t even get them out in time? Absolutely PATHETIC.

It’s really not that hard to get them in, so what was the problem?

Anyway, good thing I didn’t buy this game.

Come on Sony you claim that socom is a anchor franchise for the platform but you have such a sham of an opening day. User with corrupted data issues and unable to get into rooms. Then forums were stuck in loops and the much mentioned socom.com is just one big advertisement.

I hate to say but pushing product to market to satisfy date even though it is clearly not ready is a real Microsoft move.

Forget about the trophies! think about the basics of scaling the infrastrure to support the real meaning of a successful franchise, us the people who are willing to wait for quality of the deliverable not just the upsells I am sure you won’t do half complete.

Quit your whining babies. The trophies are on their way. Wah Wah, I want my trophies! You guys sound like a bunch of whiny 3rd graders. The server was down. The game runs pretty good considering it’s been out 2 days. I played for 8 hours yesterday with no lag at all. The game is a work in progress, but jesus, quit whining about the trophies.

The new Headset is bad azz. Crystal clear sound.

The CORRUPTED DATA ISSUE IS BEACUSE PEOPLE DIDN’T BOTHER TO DELETE THEIR BETA SAVE DATA.

If you were in the beta and didn’t delete your games saves, it will tell you your data is corrupt.

IF YOU WERE IN THE BETA, DELETE YOUR GAME DATA AND SAVES BEFORE DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE GAME DATA FROM THE DISC OR DOWNLOAD.

That will get rid of the corrupted data that people are getting.

Ok people im sorry this game sucks! i have all the other ones and i love them. but this one by far sucks the biggest. i am taking it back tomorrow. Also if all you worry about is getting some trophy from a game then you guys need to get out more.

Seems like half the people who bought are getting online trouble free and the other half aren’t. It’s a good sign that a lot of people are actually getting to play, believe it or not, so the game isn’t exactly “broken.” Give it a week. They probably knew they had to delay it but were too afraid of the backlash they would get to actually do so.

Man, how did this ever make it out of Beta. If there was a way for me to return it I would. Their servers must be crashing every couple of minutes. Not only that but the install was full of error messages too.

I would be extremely suprised if Sony didn’t offer a free map or two to please the community. Some people are complaining that it’s taking 40+ minutes to join a game….a game that last 3 minutes before everyone is disconnected from the servers.

Well, there is always Little Big Planet…come on monday.

So we have MS that charges us subscription fees to play online games that are hosted by our own consoles and PS3 that has free online play, but hosted servers that aren’t even up when I get the ONLINE ONLY game I just purchased home? Did I mention that I had to wait several HOURS to install and download updates only to get a “Network Initialization Failure”?

Most expensive title screen I’ve ever seen. Flagship title FAIL.

Well, it’s an online only game. These things are bound to happen…so I’m not sure why everyone is acting surprised or bringing up ridiculously pointless comparisons to Xbox live.

Yes it’s upsetting, no it’s not the end of the world.

To trophy weepers:
This new age of PS3 drama queens is annoying. A bunch clowns complaining about small things that WILL BE patched in.

ps. You can’t take back an opened game without losing value price to it. So keep quiet with that noise and just “return” the game if you don’t want it.
