Get Your Own PlayStation Credit Card

195 0

You may have seen the mailers, and it’s true. We’ve introduced our very own PlayStation credit card to offer fans a new way to show off their PlayStation pride and earn reward points towards the purchase of PlayStation and SONY products.

PlayStation Card

We’ve even sweetened the pot with a special introductory offer. Starting today until December 31, 2008, you could save $150 on the purchase of a PLAYSTATION 3 this holiday. There are a couple ways to do this. You can go to to www.sony.com/newpscard to get instant approval for your card, and an immediate $150 credit when you purchase a PS3 directly through the website.

Or you can go www.sony.com/getpscard to apply for the card and upon receipt of the card, use it at any authorized PlayStation retailer to purchase a PS3. The $150 credit will show up on your billing statement.

The holidays just got merrier. Happy shopping.

  • cool idea, but no thanks. i’ll stick to visa blue.

  • Debit and cash FTW.

  • beautiful it simply is.

  • That is some good stuff…

  • damn and i just got the sony visa card. wish i knew this was coming down the pipe. still anything with the word Sony on it is very appealing to my eyes. oh yeah and i want my 5 free blu rays please.

    Lh

  • First the video store, now this.
Why can you guys at least tell us if its coming to Canada?
Also, still haven’t heard anything about bring the Video Store over to Canada.
    Whats up with that?
Please give us Canadians a response.

  • aww man i was gonna apply but i hate visa
if it was mastercard…damn i REALLY was hype until i saw that visa logo…

  • Will Canada get shafted again just like the Video store?

  • Well thanks for thinking about all the PSPers out there. There are only 40 million of us worldwide.
Why don’t WE get a $150 discount on a new PSP?
    What are we, poor cousins?

  • No matter how cool it would be to say my credit card is a Playstation credit card, I think getting one for me would mean stepping beyond fan and into rabid fan.

  • I would except my debit card is a Visa as well as my actual credit card ($500 limit)…No more Visas for me! :D

  • loll like others.. is it available in canada too?

  • @44 and everyone else.

    NO ANNUAL FEE

NO Interest on purchases over $299 (ie your PS3) if paid off within 12 months (else 10.99%)

The PS3 can be bought at ANY authorized dealer not just SONYSTYLE

EXTRA YEAR WARRANTY FREE with use of the card

  • @65…SONYSTYLE has been running a $150 off $299 deal for over a year…buy a PSP and a bunch of games using the SONYSTYLE Visa (not this one) and you’d get the $150 too…

  • look, its his real credit card number, steal it !!!! lol j/k

  • To all those asking about Canada. Simple answer is no, this is not available to us Canadians. Why? Sony doesn’t care (prove me wrong, Sony), we get shafted every year. What we *do* get is a Sony Card

The same deal cropped up last year for a Sony Card + $150 to go towards a PS3 but the deal was never extended to Canadians due to it being a Chase card. This is not the case as it is through Visa so I’m not too sure why they couldn’t extend the offer to their Canadian neighbors.

It *could* be conflicting deals with companies. Sony’s .com is all Visa where as the .ca is pimping out the MasterCard.

  • Come on guys, You all know Canada doesnt really factor into Sonys plans, the population of Canadians with PS3’s is so menial that it doesnt make sense for them to waste their time.

They would much rather focus their attention where it matters, the only part of North America that matters. USA.

  • @REZBLUE
That’s a very ignorant statement be it a joke or not. As an American myself residing in Canada, all I have to say to you is gtfo, thanks. :)

  • When making the SONY card in Canada they give you 2000 points which is $20.

Come on SONY, I’m sure several people I know will pick one up for sure here in Canada.

  • @72…this card it through FirstUSA.

BTW…I’ve done MY part to spread the good news…have you?

    http://www.tawkn.com/index.php?page=site-newspost&news_id=904

More people buying PS3 means more people to play with…DO IT!

  • Awesome….you should consider making a Debit Card as well..

  • @75

Here in America when someone sneaks a couple of coins from Canada into our change. We A: try to shift them off on someone else. B: If that fails we put them in the collection baskets at church. C: Give them to hungry bums on the streets or D: just though them on the ground. :)

  • @77: Lol. Trust me. We do the same here with American money.

  • @ where are you from cause american is worth more than canadian are you a European?

  • crap edit post 79

@78 where are you from cause american is worth more than canadian are you a European?

  • CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE THIS A DEBIT/CHECK CARD OPTION?! PLEASE!

  • CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE THIS A DEBIT/CHECK CARD OPTION?! PLEASE! I would so get this on my Bank of America check card account

  • about F time

  • @80. Erm yes. But our economy is not in shambles and companies never needed pitiful bailouts. Shameful.

  • @74 it was a joke/sarcastic.

I knew some fool would take it too seriously, there’s always one.

    Congratulations on being it.

  • not available in canada, i would apply for this for sure if it was available here.

  • @85…let us not get high an mighty…

What percentage of our economy is based on exports to the US? Their pain is Canada’s pain. Wait 6 more months and look at the housing collapse in Alberta and then we will talk. Ontario being a have not province now. Our dollar plummeting 30% in 6 mos…etc etc etc.

  • That’s pretty cool.

  • Ohhh,
EUROPE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE PSN CARDS!
    C’mon what is going on?
Also High Velocity Bowling update isn’t even released here either. Shame on you Sony.

  • No love for Europe :(

  • i dont understand, are you scared to tell us that its not avalible to canada or something, just say it, i wanna here it from sony, ‘it is not avalible to canada’ dont just ****en ignore us like you did with the video store, say something, i must have spend i good hour getting all my information on getting this card all to find out that i needed to type a zip code. well enyways, thanks again sony, you really made my day, hopefully, maby the next home update will cheer me up… i donno

  • OMG!!!
Now this is what im talking about Sony…you guys just keep making me happy, not only they have the best Tv’s,home theatres, cameras and gaming consoles they also have a brand new credit card….this is super cool!!!

    Thank you Sony

  • at 93 now they need to have their own tv channel, sonytv lol, can you imagine ? sonys movies, sonys music and sonys gaming machines in one channel lol

  • @92

You are on a US blog … it linked you to a US Credit Card Company…the terms and conditions (you know…what you read BEFORE you start filling out an application) mention US all over it.

It is pretty freaking clear that this is a US offer.

If you are looking for CANADIAN offers you got ot sonystyle.CA or playstation.CA

  • lol dis sounds crazy but i think ima have to get a playstation credit card its a first time for everything

  • How about the people who already own a PS3? Where to sign in? Plus is this available for gamers worldwide or US only?

  • @kspraydad, it may be so, but Jeff has made it perfectly clear that this blog is meant for PS fans over the world and not US only. I find it weird why US gets the best deals in the world, while regions like Europe are waiting for price cuts, waiting for PSN tickets and even waiting for a mail for Home Beta, as SCEE, as usually, screwed up! I wish SCEA could handle our affairs as well, would make things a lot easier. I got a Home Beta invite from America, how weird is that? At least SCEA “does” care.

  • can’t you just fix the Store so Maestro cards work again??

  • This is dumb, just get those PSN cards out already! I don’t mind using a credit card, but mostly due to personal taste I’d rather settle for PSN cards… Besides, it’s not like this will change the overall position Sony has going for them. A simple mind over matter is all I need to ignore this fluke. Completely inane – you either have a credit card by now or you don’t. And I realize some stores have PSN cards, but where I go almost no one has these things within a 50 mile radius! Ah, at least Sony is keeping in check with these *. Nice to see them adding more products that do not normally suggest the video game label to the market. Although I really do believe we could have done without this one, the $150 off a new PS3 when signing up for a card is somewhat decent. :)
