Hooray! Finally, more Chuck! :p

FritoZ  |  November 21st, 2008 at 6:44 am

You guys really gotta do something big to combat Netflix on the 360..

it think it’s time you guys revised the rental limits for the store..

I say let us rent movies or shows for one week, and within that week we can view the content as much as we want…

And if we BUY a movie, we get the rights to it! so we can transfer it to a another storage medium, because WE PAID FOR IT!

Why not simply charge for a memebership in the PSVideo store?

For $9.99 a month, we could rent up to 1 movie at a time, with unlimited viewings and rentals withing a month, but for 49.99 you only get one video at a time..

then for $19.95, you could have 2 videos at a time, you see what i’m doing here?

I seriously can’t believe you guys are making any money at all, at least compared to the money you would make if you actually made this service worth using!

thanks for listening!

StalkingSilence  |  November 21st, 2008 at 6:50 am

@TheHakku,
I don’t know if you were being sarcastic or not – but Chuck is a great show.

9

adolson  |  November 21st, 2008 at 6:53 am

@#1: Why? Just buy a hard drive from any retailer and put it in…. It’s going to be cheaper than if Sony started selling a Sony-branded “kit.”

I don’t even know what you could possibly require in said “kit” – a screwdriver? Who doesn’t own a screwdriver?

10

gorillapimp  |  November 21st, 2008 at 6:55 am

hello Grace, i tried accessing the new Punisher trailer/content and im receiving an error. any word or clue as to whats going on?

11

narde15  |  November 21st, 2008 at 6:57 am

you guys should come up with a subscription rental program!

12

Black3irteen  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:00 am

@FritoZ #7:
I totally and completely agree. I would much rather pay for a Netflix-esque service that had a similar set of features. I think Netflix on Xbox Live was a huge move for Microsoft, and it makes the PSN video content seem a little lame…

Also, I’m never going to buy the digital copy of a movie, because I’m not free to use it like I am the BD or DVD.

13

r-nice  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:00 am

Any news on getting more studios onto the PS Store?

14

narde15  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:00 am

15

narde15  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:02 am

16

RoyMunson  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:03 am

nice update. what happened to the movie PUMPKINHEAD? it was up there for a day or two last month and then disappeared.

and post #1 “sony should release an upgrades kit for the ps3 hard drive”.

what are you talking about? like #9 said all you need is a new hd and a screwdriver.

17

TheHakku  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:19 am

@StalkingSilence: I was waiting for the day when more episodes of this season would finally be available for purchase, so no, I wasn’t being sarcastic, sir. I enjoy it.

18

schwaa  |  November 21st, 2008 at 7:20 am

The Papa Johns deal is an email only offer and only to select PSN members (near participating Papa Johns locations).

Any word yet on getting this canada? if you guys would just please drop us a line at that, this year? next? never? whats going on? 28

FritoZ  |  November 21st, 2008 at 8:40 am

I’m a little upset to be honest. We were told months ago that new Futurama was going to be posted on the store. Another week, and still no new episodes. Whats the deal? Did someone just screw up and realize its not there? Please can I get some answers here. I want my Futurama! :(

31

subbed  |  November 21st, 2008 at 9:11 am

Some type of rental service would be nice. Also fix the DRM design and release more futurama.

32

crystalx3d  |  November 21st, 2008 at 9:19 am

You guys seem to update with dozens of decent feature length movies every week and yet the selection of tv programs is still disappointing. Seriously, someone needs to work their negotiating magic and get more of the major networks on board with this thing. Some tv series are STILL missing random episodes. I want to be able buy a complete season at a competitive price and be able to back it up somewhere.
Until you come up with a rental subscription that is competitive, the current rental system can’t compete in price with just renting a physical dvd from the grocery store or RedBox. And I know I’d never buy a digital copy of a movie to own instead of a physical copy.
So I’m telling you, tv shows are where the money is, and you need more selection and networks. Especially hard to find stuff that isn’t playing anymore has the most opportunity for profit. There’s less options available than with movies, so people are more willing to accept digital distribution.

33

smokey_vols  |  November 21st, 2008 at 9:48 am

Nice update, thanks for the great video updates. There has been alot of content lately.

34

browren  |  November 21st, 2008 at 9:49 am

Guys, I bought and watched Rumbling Hearts like a month ago. It’s not new.

What gives? Did you change something about it?

35

NEJI64  |  November 21st, 2008 at 10:14 am

hey Sony get some more anime in the video store start with let say NARUTO get sub-version

36

Prince_Serlith  |  November 21st, 2008 at 10:27 am

Neji64 is right sony needs to put more animations its only fair and right.

37

nmc75  |  November 21st, 2008 at 11:03 am

I would love to buy more and even rent movies from this plethora of video offerings on the PSN, but I can’t because I don’t believe renting a movie and forced to view it within 24 hours is feasible for me, give us at least 2 to 3 days… people live busy lives and it’s more attractive to give people that option. The current DRM and lack of ability to redownload a movie if one were to lose their HDD or want to transfer to another drive to make more room on the PS3 for games is also restrictive.

38

DMeisterJ  |  November 21st, 2008 at 11:05 am

Ooh. Step Up 2. Didn’t catch that in theaters.

I’m gonna start buying XAMD too after all the goodness I hear about it.

39

Asshandler  |  November 21st, 2008 at 11:23 am

PLEASE bring this to Canada. :(

40

pick-e  |  November 21st, 2008 at 11:51 am

@Grace

I see you guys fixed up the anime section! Finally, one easy click to enter single-”season” series. Thanks for that minor but useful change. :)

I really like all the content that Sony is putting out but I think it would be great if they came up with a monthly paid service. Maybe similiar to Netflix where you have different pricing plans that allow a certain number of free rentals per month with the top plan having unlimited rentals per month.

I think people would be into that alot. And it would be great competition for MS’s new Netflix service, especially since the Netflix download service choices are really bad.

I hope someone out there at Sony is reading this. Maybe if enough people ask for it, they may actually consider it!

42

Thorpe  |  November 21st, 2008 at 12:35 pm

Seems good but seems like Sony is copying from Microsoft’s Video Marketplace. Many of these are on there. I want this in Europe ASAP!

43

sainraja  |  November 21st, 2008 at 1:03 pm

I am glad to see Smallville season 8 on there! Thanks guys!

44

sainraja  |  November 21st, 2008 at 1:07 pm

I am really….thanks. I made it a point to ask in every video update blog post and you guys listened!! Awesome thanks.

Now I don’t have to worry about missing episodes.

the_icon  |  November 21st, 2008 at 1:31 pm

The ads looks great, but we need to see more ads for PS3 FP titles like Resistance 2 and LBP.

46

GORT22  |  November 21st, 2008 at 2:16 pm

Sony, Three words “subscription rental program”
Also, need more anime.

Thanks!

47

AGQ0105  |  November 21st, 2008 at 2:53 pm

48

AranhaHunter  |  November 21st, 2008 at 4:52 pm

How come some movie studios (New Line, Dreamworks, Touchstone, etc) are not listed under Movies -> Studios? Their movies are not listed under their parent companies either, so what gives?

49

kspraydad  |  November 21st, 2008 at 6:01 pm

Did they fix the download more than once problem?

Did Grace bother to say anything?

Same old same old.
