PlayStation.Blog Halloween Costume Contest – You Choose!

Hey PS Blog Community -

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Halloween costume contest. By and large, the majority of you opted to dress up as SackBoys. We loved looking at all of the photos and it was tough to narrow it down, but Jeff did his best to select the top five submissions based on originality and likeness of character. Look over your voting ballot below (along with Jeff’s comments), before casting your all important vote. We’re now counting on you, the readers, to select the top three participants who will go on to receive fabulous prizes and praise. Make your selection below by this Friday, 5:00 PM PST. One vote per person (trust us, we know). Good luck to the finalists!

Entry #1 – SackCouple (Ricardo G.)

Jeff says: Our first entry received set the tone – lots of SackBoys! The female one is sporting a very “Ms. Pac-Man” vibe, with the askew bow. Adorable.

Entry #2 – Team WipEout (Jessica D.)

Jeff says: This entry gets my vote as most creative. These two posed as WipEout drivers, sporting their team affiliations. I’d have declared them instant winners if they went with my fave, Team Goteki – so they’re still going to need votes to win.

Entry #3 – Hawaiian Sackboy (Daniel W.)

Jeff says: I think this is the most well-constructed SackBoy – just look at that zipper! Not sure about that shirt though, I’d search the levels for some outfit bubbles you may have missed …

Entry #4 – Helghast (ding dong)

Jeff says: This entry succeeds in being even more creepy than Killzone 2’s Helghast troops. I won’t sleep well tonight.

Entry #5 – SackBoat (Ross A.)

Jeff says: This SackBoy clearly pressed up on the D-pad repeatedly – that tongue is wagging. Bonus points for risking the costume to jump into a boat, for completely unclear reasons.

All the entries are good, I like the PS3 product placement in Sack Couple and it was close to earning my vote… but I had to vote for Sack Boat. It’s just so ridiculous and fun that a boat be used with the costume… sort of like LBP.

AWWW JEFF!!! Hehe that is why I emailed you bro to ask if it was ok for me to cosplay as Sora–I didn’t want to be disqualified!!! LOL no biggie–I entered more for fun anyways—BTW everyone my bro, Trev, built the keyblade—he went as Hollow-Ichigo from Bleach and built his own sword as well–getting pretty good at it–I sent Jeff a second pic of me leaning against the KeyBlade where you can see it in better detail–it has a chain running up the middle of it too.

haha best post in a long time. Pretty funny remarks from Jeff. I’m pretty impressed with how talented/artsy so many of the submissions were. Well done. Maybe next year, I won’t be Billy Mays (from the OxiCLEAN commercials) and I’ll be something PS-related.

He actually sent me two shots, one with a controller, but (wisely), he didn’t bring it on the boat.

The controller thing was just to verify that it wasn’t something trolled off of Google Pics (though someone actually tried to photoshop a controller onto something they found – busted!)

Well, it was between the SackBoat and Helghast, but the Helghast eventually won my vote because the Sackperson in the boat didn’t really look all that authentic when compared to the other Sackperson entries… Cool setting though!

i today have bought LBP here in the netherlands, and i must say: SONY AND Media Molecule i hate u!!!

i can’t stop playing LBP, every time i shut-down my PS3 down after 10 minutes or so i want to play it again and again.
i haven’t had this since the very first prince of persia! which says allot about how great this game is because i still play that games sometimes on my ancient mac!

i think i will be playing this in 10 years, i just hope my ps3 holds out for that long:D
