Dec I have a distinct feeling that many of you might have been expecting that this day would be coming real soon … Today, we’re beginning to reveal more about our next project here at Naughty Dog – Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

You can catch the first glimpse of our next game on GameTrailers.com, which is hosting a video we’ve put together advertising the 2008 Video Game Awards on Spike. Our VGA ad will also premiere on the air tomorrow, Tuesday, December 2, at 9:25 PM during UFC Unleashed on Spike. Oh yeah, that means we have something much bigger lined up …
The world premiere of our first trailer for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves!
This trailer will be shown during the 2008 Video Game Awards show, airing on December 14, 2008, at 9:00 PM on Spike. Don’t forget!
On top of that, Game Informer has revealed the cover for their January 2009 issue today, which features none other than – you guessed it – Uncharted 2. The January 2009 issue will hit subscribers and newsstands in mid-December and will give you the first in-depth look at what lies in store for Nathan Drake.
Keep an eye out for a lot more about Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in the coming months!

Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is my absolute favorite PS3 game so far, which means Naughty Dog has my utmost respect and money come Uncharted 2′s release. :D
Now, if Sony would release more avatars, including more of Uncharted (Sully! Elena!) and other franchises (LBP, anyone?), all would be good in this world.

Yes! You guys are so awesome. I love that this one will allow you to sneak around. The first Uncharted hinted at elements of stealth, but would never really let you execute on it beyond a single kill or so.

Well, typically I don’t watch Unleashed as it is mostly reruns (unless new episodes have aired) so now my Tuesday night just got better. So excited I will start playing through this UDF again and then freeze myself until my Uncharted 2 pre-order has come in.

Excellent news, the free climbing sounds interesting but I have to admit that the stealth does raise some concerns with me.
I’m all for avoiding combat in games but there have been so many examples of games that shoehorn a simple stealth mechanic into the game without thinking it through.
Also, I hope you manage to keep the same sense of location in this game by focusing on one location. That was the best thing of the first game in my opinion, you convinced me (and others I hope) that you were there on the island and that it was all connected.
I very much prefer that in a game to a globe trotting adventure like the Tomb Raider games have become.

Now 3 things you need to do: release Uncharted themed Sackboys for LittleBigPlanet, make sure Sony puts out a wicked CE and stuff the game with more “making of” and “behind the scenes” footage :)

I can’t wait for this game. I played all the way through Uncharted last year but just got an HDTV so now I’m on my second time through in HDTV. I thought the game looked great before but in HDTV it’s a lot better. Uncharted is still one of my favorite games so far. Hopefully Uncharted 2 will be even better.

I love Uncharted 1, I thought that it was a better execution of the 3rd person cover mechanics that Gears brought this gen (Killswitch did it first but sucked). And after thinking Gears 2 could get close to Uncharted (after Cliff admiring Uncharted Animation) I had high hopes for Gears 2, but it end up dissapointing me, since I was expecting a Uncharted like feel to the game.
Now Uncharted 2 is announced and I’m getting all pump! Plz NaughtyDog, PLZ!! Put a Multiplayer mode where we can create characters and play!! I could totally see the massive battles in Uncharted as a Multiplayer maps and having castles with corridors as a map that gives players courage of using melee combos and not been afraid to get kill while doing that because they are in rooms. PLZ MAKE IT HAPPEN!
