Hi PLAYSTATION 3 community,
I am so very happy to announce that PlayStation Home has now officially entered into Open Beta. Restart your PLAYSTATION 3, and you will see the PlayStation Home icon under the PlayStation Network column of the XMB. Click on the icon, and you are in.
Getting to this point has required a tremendous amount of participation, input, care, and passion from the thousands of beta testers who helped make PlayStation Home what it is today. So to all of you that have tested, from all of us on the PlayStation Home team here at Sony: “Thank You!”
For those of you that are new to PlayStation Home, be sure to plug in a USB keyboard (or pair your Bluetooth headset) and start meeting your fellow PS3 owners. And remember, even with all the spaces, rewards, items, and activities available today, what you see now is just the beginning. Home will grow, change, and evolve very quickly – and it is all based on your feedback.
This is your community, and we are listening.
I guess I’ll download it tonight and see what all the fuss is about.

I don’t doubt that Sony will get this all fixed up within the day. Really blows though, so looking forward to it :(
Hey Mr. buser, I agreed to the terms and everything I kept getting the C-988 error so I decided to reset my ps3. Now I get a:

Can I reinstall Home?

It appears to be quite popular. I think the server has too many people attempting to log in at the same time to where it is overwhelmed. I hope the service itself isn’t too buggy. But congrats on the opening and good luck with the fix
Yah, I’m starting to think it was all a setup for those who already had the Home Closed Beta to d/l this new thing and boot us out. All this “incredible!” who is the judge? if none of us can login! some can say ppl are lame for waiting around, well those are die-hard fans, and im one! sure there’s other things to do, but when u been waiting so long…this like kids waiting for 12am christmas eve, I WANNA GO HOME!!!!!!!!!

YAY! the moment has arisen, I honestly thought that maybe I’d never see the day! I enjoyed being invited at the last minute to join in on the closed beta though, thank you for the invite, showed me that maybe you cared a lil bout me, lol. Can’t wait for my friends to join me in HOME. It’s going to be a great journey!
I hope you guys realize that as much as you prepare allowing millions of users worldwide to access the service at the same time is going to cause a few network issues. I am sure the network teams are going to get them taken care of.

I spent $400 on my ps3, yet im not complaining.
That $400 was spend on a blu-ray player / gaming machine.
I didn’t spend all that money for home. So don’t try to use an angle like that.
Give sony a day or two to work things out.
Maybe you’ll be able to work out your own issues too.
Just pretend that the release is Saturday or something.

i have restarted like 10 times and no home is appearing anywhere. Please tell me it is available in Canada.

That’s you dude. I paid $600 plus tax for my machine. Not to mention I had to buy two DS3 to replace the sixaxis controllers. I bought a Playstation to play games!!! All the other extra stuff are just there. Hints the name, Playstation not Moviestation.

accountability is important, and its discouraging when a company you buy into says they’re going to have things ready, and they dont. Also, this is a recurring problem. it happened with gta4 and lbp. its lame if we start expecting to play days after the release date.
if they say theyre going to launch at x-time then it should work at x-time.
