While we prepare solutions to ease the problem, you may continue to experience difficulties accessing Home. We kindly ask for your patience as we work to meet the incredible demand for this revolutionary service.

  • you can tell who the trolls are in here…

  • To those complaining about a free video game service:

GET A LIFE, YOU ARE A LOSER

  • It’s decent, but I have to wait a long time to enter the door codes in Unchartedland. Also… I want that Red Bull thing :P. And finally, I wish my Galaga Machine worked :(.

  • I logged into Home beta last night and was happy to find the Far Cry 2 and Uncharted spaces there. Before I start complaining, I want Sony to know that I thank them very much for opening up the beta to everyone. Now for my complaints: the Uncharted space became very crowded last night (10PM – 12AM Eastern). In the future, Sony will either need to increase the amount of space or allow a duplicate space to open when the first one has become too crowded. Also, there were too few video arcade machines in the Uncharted space to meet the demand for them. I understand that this is still a beta – so I’m being very patient, Sony.

  • I had a problem when I first tried, but I almost never turn my PS3 off. I was a closed beta tester and I recall the post saying to reboot the PS3 and then login. When I rebooted the PS3 it then allowed me to login no problem. I spent about an hour in Home showing friends around last night.

Not sure that will help the people having problems, but it may.

The new game in the pond is kind of fun I’ll have to say. Lag should likely level out soon.

  • When are they going to add appliances in the stores and picture frames so we can have our own stuff playing.

Right now everything about home is so boring and worthless

  • I wouldn’t necessarily call Home revolutionary… yet.

  • All I keep getting is “connection to server was lost c-931” and the “Server Error Session Has Timed our or doesn’t exist – 603”
Is this what people are getting??
Has anyone getting this gotten through at all or is it pointless. What about a remove & reinstall?

  • Hey Good job on the launch it went pretty well ,theres a lot of people walking around please include more game stations.Ither than that it has potential

  • I know that it’s a beta, and for some people it’s not going to work but I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to fix my problem. I start up home accept the terms and agreements, and when it starts to sign in, it stops and says:
    Network Error
The Connection to Server Was Lost
    C-931

Has anyone else had this problem, and is there anything I can do to fix it? Or do I just have to wait it out?

  • k I know this is the beta but from the looks of this Sony is screwing us over we half to pay for everything we want to buy ya this is free but come on a dollar for a shirt like what a joke most of the clothes in the mall should be free i don’t mind paying for some but if u half to pay for every upgrade then wtf you give us a [DELETED] selection to start from in the beginning we all look the same unless we by something now some ideas that I think would make this better readjust the pricing on things like furniture clothes homes exct… add some good clothing like it would be dope to see sports clothing pick jerseys of ur favorite teams in nhl nba mlb nfl cfl mls or w,e world juniors that should sell like crazy umm I think their should be rooms for all the games u own kinda thing like nhl09 room it should show all ur achievements throughout the game customize the look of it with wallpapers of ur favorite moments in nhl history or wut not have videos of ur moves in 09 being played on a TV for viewing to friends add posters of ur favorite players videos along the walls of some of their best moves things like that would be sick add the other sports too and fix the chatting too hard to tell who someone is talking to

  • @132 – loadstone007.

Tell me, how can you tell how many people will at one time try to enter Home?
There’s no way to predict how many people will come on at once.

Sure you can anticipate, but until actual logons, you don’t really know.

This is a free service loadstone007….it’s Beta not Live…..Sony could have kept it under development much longer, but many of us pressured Sony to get Home out.

    It’s out…I think it’s running fantastically actually.

You should have seen what it was like this past Sept…where you got booted every so often….well, in that short time, they’ve made great strides.

    To that I congratulate Sony.

  • I work in the IT business and know what Sony is going through trying to please everyone and I think they’re doing a pretty fantastic job so far.

Not only that, the economy isn’t the greatest right now….Sony and other companies are taking big hits and taking chances.

I don’t want to write a book here, but like I said…I think the majority of us appreciate everything we have been provided.

You have your opinion and Sony said they want to hear everyone…so people can complain…but still remember…Beta people…you want to be Beta testers in the future…accept this type of thing happening.

  • Wow, sorry, I didn’t see the comment above me. My bad. D:

  • *Some* people *may* be experiencing difficulty?

It took me *8* hours to get on. Weak sauce.

  • Sorry KiraxKira….just that I get a bit offended by some people’s remarks at times.

But your question about what’s happening when you’re logging in ?

That’s happening to many people and that’s part of what they’re working on fixing…it’s just an overload, but I’m pretty sure once Sony monitors and adjusts the Network…you’ll have no problems logging on.

Just keep trying every so often and eventually you’ll get in.

Have fun and maybe I’ll see you in Home.

  • Screw fixing it. Jam it with so much content we will be beating down your front doors to get it fixed. You say “overwhelming demand” shoot for catastrophic demand. This is not like Socom where I shelled out money for it. Who cares if it works or doesn’t, just start tossing the stuff up there. You have nothing to lose. It says beta, you can reinforce that. Go go go.

  • Too Bad I cant get into HOME. Sony please do something

  • why did you put an age limit it won’t let me login

  • @Patrick Seybold

This is due to overwhelming demand

…Seriously…? You expect me/us to believe that? You’re telling me/us that nobody in Sony’s net/telecom department TO THIS DAY can look at net traffic and correctly size the number of new servers needed?

  • It’s fine. I didn’t mean to sound whiny. I’ve been trying to get on since yesterday, with no luck. I’ll just wait till things slow down. No need to get upset about not being able to get on, I don’t see why everyone’s flipping out so much. They’ll get on sooner or later.

  • PLEASE REPlY!!! why under my xmb i dont have PS HOME icon?? i have a 20gb ps3 first one that came in Puerto Rico is it bcuz its old

  • Males need beard, goatee options. I have very long ankle length dreadlocks which would be very cool on my avatar. Some other ideas: possible pets, your avatar owning a in Home PS3 and PSP. Interested companies could definitely advertise products through a licensing aggrement with Sony. Having your avatar rock their favorite New Era Cap would be cool. There is unlimited potential to this concept it is all up to what Sony invisions and I hope your listening to We The People. Peace

  • I am having a problem, I cant even try to install it. The icon to install it doesnt show up under Network. If somebody can tell me whats wrong i would surely appreciate it.

    Thx,
    Thirsty

  • Well I figured this would happen…well kinda. But Sony will get it popping. I’ve been with sony right from early days of the ps1 to now. I bought the ps3 in part for home. When I first heard of home I was hooked. Anyway hope the sony crew get it sorted out. I cut out early today from work to check it out…..no luck….well @ least I wasn’t at work lol.

  • Im havin same problem as Thirsty. I dont even have the icon under my xmb. I would like some help too.

  • nope…its 8:30 here not 5:34pm

  • The i-con just shows up under the store and sign in area. Well it did for me….was not there last night but saw it today from work on the psp. Could not wait to get home :)

  • hey there just a few things i’d like to see in home for a future patch:
    1- beards….comeon
    2- customizable clothing
3- *~in-game currency or at least some freebies~*
4- purchasable items like drinks and such
5- possible future events like christmas and halloween
6- some movement choices other then the standard run
    7- possibly a report system for e-tards

i could go on but those are mostly the jist of what i would like to see in the near future. i know its just beta so thats why im giving my 2 cents

  • “possibly a report system for e-tards”

There is, it’s in the Select menu.

  • URGENT!! please i need to know why i dont have the PS HOME BETA icon under my xmb?? SONY NETWORK PLEASE REPLY MY QUESTION…

    Da_DaDDy (psn)

  • sony it looks great can’t wait for your area expansions. I know they well rock. on the content side treat it like ps store and everything all good. starting games is the heart of home I would say number one thang after everyone is set to go !!! BUT know need to tell you that .

  • HOME is an utter dissapointment.

I mean come on Sony…it took you this long to release this garbage.
There is absoltly nothing that silitifies HOME….there are barely any spaces and i mean 99 cents for a stupid chair? you have to be kidding me.

I can not beleve you made us wait this long for nothing!
Whatever happened to the cluality product that was supposed to come from the wait huh? i mean come on u couldnt even help the pixilation of the videos?
The only reason u keep saying ” remeber this is just the begin and the service will evolve” is becuse you know it is a terribly boring and unsatisfing service…I expected much better from you Sony…much better

  • I think home has amazing potential. However, I wish I could use my Tiger Woods 09 avatar like import it or upload it. That thing looks exactly like me and took me FOREVER to create, really hope they impliment something like this. Either partner with EA to use their technology or come up with a service of their own to utilize the pseye, that is just collecting dust.

  • About charging for items.

I personally think if you guys at Sony want to charge for things. You have to make them a LOT more cheaper.

$1.00 here and .50 cents there is ridiculous for virtual nothings.

I would be inclined to think that people would spend the money of they were $0.10 cents here $0.15 there.

    Seriously.

  • well its nice to know there work on it of course, but I remember some new content being promised to us…new clothes, furniture..yeah u can goto far cry 2 and uncharted’s lay outs, thats cool. An the new pavilion is ok, so with the new game(no spoiler)…Although I really do like the updates u get before u log on, thats great keep that part up and keep us up to date on events or other add on coming up. On and I though there where gonna be new stores too? whats up sony?

  • add me

  • I have no Home icon. Why is that?

  • at what hour HOME comes to night?

  • Thank you Sony for giving us a space where we can consume endless advertisements, not play any cheap browser games or bowl because they’re filled not physically but spiritually by others, and for essentially doing nothing but slow down the delivery of content that is infinitely easier to get at using the playstation store and Google.

Where’s RSS support for the XMB and easy “JOIN THIS GAME WITH A FRIEND NOW” buttons on the XMB friends list? I think ya might’ve left them at the office in the rush to get Home.

  • GGCAN you tell them. I for one am very proud of sony. glad to wittiness the development first hand. stop complaining about sony and help them make it great there welling to do this for us lets help them make it the best out there. ps sony is thanking of us all but they can’t give everything away! I’m 100% SURE THEY WELL HAVE FREE STUFF TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CUT THEM SOME SLACK. look at the option to the free service!!!! I for one LOVE the free part that way I CAN GET THE OTHER GRAET STUFF LIKE THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jeez people, its a social networking experience. I’m hoping we’ll see different developers hosting discussion panels for the community. Just like the PSN service, it’ll keep on evolving.

  • Wow!

We’ve been anticipating this huge event for more than a year now… More than a year of letting our imaginations think up a dream, a dream of a perfect online community, a dream of a perfect HOME. Now that we’re in the open beta stage, a lot of people are realizing now that this dream is a reality! And, though beginnings are always rough, and peoples expectations raise higher every day, I truly believe that because this is a community driven program, HOME will flourish into every single persons dream, everyones great ideas will slowly start to emerge, and HOME will be an immaculate symbol of what happens when you get a large group of people together, who share the same passion. You form a community, a community where you are free to talk about your passion, find people who share your passion, or even delve deeper into your passion!

HOME is here, and HOME is just going to get better and better!

  • Hey…where do I make suggestions on what you should add in home?, if its here, here is a few things…

    – In the bowling alley, the echochrome posters above the lanes should be scoreboards so that people that are waiting to play will know what frame the people playing are at.

    – In the bowling alley, the arcade machines should have leaderboards. Really all the mini games should have leaderboards

    – maybe rotate the arcade games every so often

    – add some prizes to the train arcade game

    – add some music in the bowling alley, since everyone doesn’t talk, it ends up being so quiet there…well really most places

    – maybe add the ability to jump

    – this is a longshot, maybe you could let people watch movies in the theatres presently, and have them pay some type of admission price. This seems like another good use for the theatre

i guess thats it for now other than the obvious add more games and spaces and clothing stuff that will likely come with time….

    Thanks for reading

  • Demand?! There are so many flaws and it is so boring that I just deleted it to save the space.
Why would I want to go to a virtual mall. The environment is sterile and the people are emotionless. I want to be submersed in a playstation world. How about the Home team gets some people with experience making fun instead of marketing. Where’s the integration of properties, the style, the character? I want to be submersed in a playstation world, greek gods in the background, flying warhawks, with sack avatars, and Chimeras bowling against me. Time for a graphical refresh. Just ad style and character to everything please. Even down to Kratos as king in Chess.
Where are places my avatar can go and race GT branded go carts, or play killzone paintball, or casual games I could play as an avatar with other people? Where is my Playstadium?
Can I just walk up to a machine and play?
I’m at my wits end, and I find the marketing language of this post insulting to my intelligence.

  • Home could be a great platform one day, but Sony needs to provide the content to back it up. And right now, anything short of more advertising is lacking. In Home, I feel like a prisoner—my uniform matches all the other inmates as I walk around beside the other inmates endlessly with nothing to do.

    *Year of the PS3,

    Delayed Untill 2009*

  • To Da_DaDDy08.

You are in Puerto Rico right?

HOME is NOT released to all regions.

    Perhaps that includes Puerto Rico.

    BTW…the blog isn’t a helpline.

    Help for HOME is here:
    http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3home&thread.id=452957

  • Okay…here goes my rant about Home.

I love Home, great way to interact with fellow PS3 gamers around the world.

However, these things that were promised but arent here, annoy me…

    1. No 3D trophy room…what the hell

    2. Inability to launch games from the PDA thing you have…whats the point of having the option Sony?

3.Why in gods name, are the same videos played over and over? shouldn’t there be like different videos each time?

4.Why does Europe not have the Uncharted and Far Cry 2 spaces? and where is the Resistance and Motorstorm spaces!?

5.Why are we watching trailers in a movie theatre? you should have a dedicated theatre for REAL FULL LENGTH MOVIES, even if you need to charge a few bucks, but make it FULL SCREEN, not 3/4 screen…

You get those things in Sony, you will have one happy as larry PS3 customer.

  • @197…all of that is coming…repeat after me…OPEN BETA!

  • Hey Sony – why no promotion for Persona 4 on the blog?
