A new year is upon us and wanted to get back in the swing of things with our first post of 09. For our new members of the LBP community, we’re glad you can join us and look forward to seeing you online. Welcome to our weekly “Sack it to me” segment, where we answer the LBP community’s questions and concerns. For the rest of you, welcome back, hope you had chance over the break to create some cool levels. Anyway, back to the post…so here goes.
More Metal Gear Solid Goodies
After Media Molecule got done with the MGS packs, they had some fun and created a bunch of cool art. Check out Media Molecule’s Flickr page for some AWESOME renders from the MGS packs. 1.07 Aftermath
Our teams Liverpool and Media Molecule have been busy analyzing and crunching the data to respond to feedback you’ve been giving in response to the 1.07 update. All of your input on the forums have been a great source of information and you’ll be glad to hear they’re hard at work on a patch for the 1.07 update that should resolve many of the issues that have been reported. We’ll have further news on this patch once we’re a little closer to it being ready.
For those of you experiencing the “Full Profile” message, since the issue revolves around the amount / complexity of the community objects in your Popit tool, for now your best bet is to delete a chunk of unwanted objects from your inventory.
DLC update
We ended 2008 with a big bang (or maybe we should say ‘a big bucket of paint’), and hope you’ve enjoyed our weekly deliveries of a wide array of downloads. Between the free goodies, costumes from our PlayStation family of games, and Sticker/Level packs, we hope there was something on the PlayStation Network that took to your liking.
In 2009, more goodies are on their way to the PS Store, but you’re gonna have to hold tight for a few weeks. We’re planning to start our weekly deliveries on Jan 22 with a lot of new stuff, returning stuff and big surprises — Lets just say it’ll be a big year.
We’re also open to ideas, so get on the forums and let us know what you’d like to see in 09.
LittleBigChallenges
With the popularity of our first LittleBigChallenge, we definitely have plans to introduce a new one, but we’re aiming to broaden the competition and make it as global as we can. Stay tuned because we know you guys want to get your hands on the extremely RARE Prize Crown.

LBP…why o why do you tease us. I have been checking the PSN store EVERYDAY since last Thursday when there was NO update. I need my LBP DLC fix *scratches at arm* I need it man…you got the stuff? huh? I got a cheeseburger for you.
(bonus points to any of you older gamers that get the last reference)
So we need to delete unwanted stuff from our inventory for the game to save as usual because i’m tring to get all of the prize bubbles and ace them but it always save part of it not all.
So when is the update going out can’t wait for it much longer!!!!!

So…when are you going to support the Philippines so I can buy those add-ons?
So I bought the Street Fighter costumes but they don’t work on my EU account. I bought them from my US account. Later I figured out that LBP DLC is region locked and I have to ask: Why? I just blew my money on nothing, and I really want those costumes but I sure as hell won’t be paying for it twice. The thing is that they are way too expensive in my region to buy so I always get this stuff off the US Store.
Any help on the way for people in my position?
I am also on the same boat of the 1080i issue, I hope on early 2009 we can enjoy the great news of LBP on a truely HD graphics.

Now that the MGS Level pack has introduced the Paintinator, levels created by other users have even more variety and less limits… but it makes me wonder…
Could the Final Fantasy level pack have humongous swords? Imagine how that would change LBP for the better!
That is, IF there is going to be a Final Fantasy level pack…
Can’t wait for more costumes, I’m a bit addicted to buying new ones, I love to have the choice of variety.
And I can’t wait to see what comes with the FF7 costumes, maybe some sort of sword mecanic?
How awesome would that be, lol.

I like to think their pretty unique, I made the Original the day the MGS pack came out, so it was unique at the time of publishing it.
Now I am making a Medium and Hard as friends want more.
But I would love to see some more people play them and tell me what they think.

I’ve been seeing some hilarious LBP Machinima videos on Youtube, Littlebig Michael Jackson, and Sack Astley spring to mind.
Have you guys ever considered licensing an artist to recreate their music video for commercials? Because I’ll tell you right now, if I saw Little Big Planet’s version of “Beat It” or “Never Gonna Give You Up” without being informed on the game, it’d sell me instantly. And it worked for a few people I know as well.

Many thanks to Media Molecule for fixing a lot of issues that needed repair. I do want to report that there’s a major issue related to community objects. If you have too many community objects and you save one of your own objects or levels that object does not really get saved. The next time you turn on the system it is gone. I cleared my community items but that’s a temp fix. I’d love to see this glitch get corrected since it seems to be linked to the last update.
KUDOS on the Paintinator and all the Metal Gear stuff. SOOOOOOO awesome. Well worth the download.
Things I would like to see:
Possibly more variety of colors in gas. An option to turn off the fly noises around the gas function because I like to use it for things like steam and such and the sound detracts from the atmosphere.
I second the motion for an option to wash an object of all stickers!
LBP Challenge Idea:
Best Boss- Creating a boss creature to be defeated.
plz an update on in game music because even the sonic demo has in game music and its not even published by sony
OOOO we need a Lombax costume…and maybe a short video about how they are no longer endangered with the introduction to LBP…I love cross title promotion. :)
Alright so since Street Fighter and Metal Gear got a whole bunch, I just have an idea.
With Final Fantasy VII, Have the characters be maybe this: Cloud; Sephiroth; Vincent; Tifa; Aeris. If that’s too much though than I understand, I just know pretty much the whole FF community on LBP would be buying, ya know?

Don’t care what else, I’m still not buying this game until you guys add 1080i support. It’s not that hard. We’ll be waiting… 1080ps3.com

Any word yet on support for 1080i? This is such a huge miss, and sad that so many HDTV owners still can’t play this great game in HD.
1080i support – you gave us hope by saying you would find out about it.. now you refuse to acknowledge it like everyone else does.
You obviously know something by this point, so because you have said nothing yet it’s telling me there are not plans of adding 1080i support in the future. So if this is the case can you PLEASE just tell us so those of us STILL waiting can just move on. Why give us hope and then leave us hanging for so long.
i’m all for the mgs4 packs, honestly. I’ve aced all the levels by now; this “news” seems to be the third rehash of the same information so far… it’s getting a bit stale.
Not to say i’m complaining, i love the levels. MM did an awesome job on every one.

Yo, I found a glitch in the trophy system.
I didnt get the trophy “Expert Creator” even tho I finished all the tutorials. Im thinkig its because I did some of them on my sisters account. But keep in mind that it was on her account (same system)but I had the second controller that was my account. So it still should have counted as me completing the tutorial right? Because when i went back to my account it says i’ve completd all the tutorials… so wut the hells up?!?! I cnt replay the tutorials, I can only watch them again… how am I supposed to get the trophy now?
i’ve been trying to ace levels and get the cool devil costume and stuff but whenever i do it, it doesnt save my progress and i lose them. i’m also trying to improve one of my levels and that doesnt save either. please help me!
