Help Us Help You: Take the PlayStation.Blog Survey

292 10

Hey there, PlayStation.Blog reader! You may have noticed the addition of Chris Morell to our staff in December. If not, I encourage you to head over to his Flower interview and giggle at the freeze-frame there. It’s OK, I’ll wait.

There, wasn’t that worth it?

Besides making faces for the camera, Chris has enabled us, your PlayStation Social Media Team, to think a bit more expansively. We want to do more with our existing Facebook and Twitter accounts. We want to produce more video (and audio?) content for the Blog. Basically, to do more of the stuff that you like, and to do the things you already like, only better.

But what, exactly, *do* you like? That leads us the the first ever PlayStation.Blog Readers Survey. We’ve crafted together a fairly short web survey to ask you about your experience with the Blog, and a tiny bit more about your larger interactions with PlayStation. Don’t worry, there are no uncomfortable questions like “How much money do you make in a year?” or “How did you do on your SATs?” or “Really that’s it? Don’t you think you should’ve studied more?” Rather, the questions will be used directly to craft new content and, perhaps, new applications that you will love from Day 1.

PlayStation.Blog Reader Survey

Please click here to start the survey. You’ll be redirected to another site, but you will *not* be asked *any* personal information (not even an email address), and you will not be spammed, harassed, or made fun of in any way for having too few Trophies. And if you don’t want to answer the questions that don’t have an asterisk next to them (about half), you don’t even have to.

Thanks in advance, and I hope you have a great weekend!

  • Totally agree with AdversaryofGod, post 199. Truly an original and incredible idea bro.

  • I <3 the blog.

  • Loved the survey guys thanks for that and listening.

  • Loved the survey guys was fun as well as well designed

  • officially my first comment

thanks guys for all you’ve done,

  • Done, a voice only podcast would be nice. A video podcast with interviews and related news would be KILLER!!!!

  • done, it was shorter than i expected… good to see that they listen to us :D

  • XBOX owners have an INSIDER, SPOTLIGHT and NEW ARRIVALS categories in a main menu. Why we, PS3 owners, must find all that the same on the official page and from blog via PC? I prefer to find all of this futures (new arrival games, development movies, what can I find now in stores also blogging part) in my XMB. When I turn on my console on I want to immerse to the limit in PLAYSTATION Community.

  • just taken it.

  • so we’ll see if they take the survey and do anything with it, or at least, we’ll see if the majority of people like sillyness

  • Podcast will be awesome. Thanks for listening to us Sony.

  • nice thnx for listening!

  • Awesome, anything for playstation

  • Thanks for giving the survey Sony, this will only make PlayStation Blog a better place and more people friendly :)

  • Oh i forgot to mention, Sony. I would like us to have profiles where we can display what games we own, how often we play, what our favorite genres/games are, and a little other stuff if possible/necessary

  • Mission Accomplished.

  • good idea!

  • more firmware updates! lol jk thnx sony

  • As I mentioned in the survey, what I most want is just a blog post every few months or so just asking us what WE want!

Just so we can express ourselves and know that someone from Sony has read our comments and will pass them on further up the chain.

Whenever I make a comment I think is important, there’s no way for me to know whether anyone has taken it on board or whether I’m just wasting my time commenting.

Thanx, I do love the blog tho. Would love a podcast, PSNation podcast is pretty good. Maybe even a video podcast like the 1UPshow. Maybe you guys could allow us to watch/download Qore exclusively from the PSBlog instead of it being a paid for download for people in the US only.

  • Just took it. Thanks, for listening.

  • “13. Would you be interested in an audio-only podcast from the PlayStation.Blog crew?”

Yes! i was thinking you guys should make a Podcast on PSP.

  • Hey Jeff you didn’t answer the question about new avatars i remember before Christmas you said near the holidays we would get new avatars and that hasn’t happened. What Gives please answer me it isn’t a secret or anything we all already own PS3’s its not like it will make anyone mad if you guys give us new avatars it would actually make me really happy please answer me :)

  • Officially my first comment on the blog…you guys rock and the survey was quick and painless, so lets get a video podcast that we can play on ps3/psp as well. And maybe try to get it put on the playstation store because i’m sure there are some out there unaware of this blog.

  • Podcast wise it would be cool, but there only one PS podcast out there that matter and Jeff knows which one that is.

  • Good survey, any chance of a firmware survey, and can we get more news from Eric Lempel

Yeah I agree with 222, we need new avatars, I was thinking like the ability to use our home avatar, like the mugshot, and our sackboy, cos their is no LBP avatars, but you should add more and have a database with game avatars, sport avatars, miscellaneous and custom avatars,

do avatars have to be added with a firmware or can they be added whenever like PS Store?

  • Why do we need podcast ps3 comes with ps blog unless you mean for psp

  • Just took the survey and I would definitely say to make an audio or maybe video podcast.

  • Since you are obviously listening today… PLEASE make it MANDATORY for devs to add custom soundtracks in all games… This would make me the happiest gamer ever.. i Really mean it

  • Some of the things here are good ideas:

Rating is meh. However, if it means something just change it to a thumbs up/down thing.

Home updates are welcomed, provided home is updated every week.

Podcast? sure! Vcast? even better. Heck, bring the PSNation crew and you don’t even have to do that much work in this area since they do such an awesome job at promoting at talking everything Playstation (I hear they no longer are associated with PS3 Fanboy)

Overall, the PS.blog is still a great spot to get informed. Keep it up guys.

  • crap. Add an edit option to the comment section! I’d really, really like to edit my comments once in a while.

  • I’d like to cast my vote for an audio-only podcast. Some have mentioned that they’d prefer video, but with audio I can play something while I have the podcast on in the background. Insomniac made that transition in their last episode of the Full Moon Show, and I had to stare at my computer the whole time- before that I could play some Final Fantasy XII while listening, and it was a hell of a lot longer too. I’d be willing to get down on my knees and beg for it to be audio-only. And if Insomniac is listening: I’m making the same offer to you.

  • Done

I typed it on PSP…*massages hands*

    you better read it jeff

  • I took the survey, not long at all! Thanks for paying attention to the Playstation community Sony.

  • The “How many games you own” question was a little vague.. What do you want to know? PS system games? Total games I own? I think you need to be more specific.

  • yer the EU needs to have a blog and can we have a big vote on the main things we want in this year update on the ps3 because that would be amazing

  • I have a great suggestion for SONY & that is that they should allow audio playback for more PS3 games, and more trophies

  • Thanks for caring about what we would like on the blog, a friends list would be great as well as more avatars to choose from.

  • Now that we sign-in with our PSNID, I think comments from persons on our friends list should be highlighted so we can easily track what our friends say on the blog

  • 1 day til birthday

  • Jeff,

Regarding the PlayStation.Blogs “possible” PodCast. Why not make it available via the PlayStation Store, so PS3 Users and PSP users can listen too it at Home, or on the Go!?

    SpookyJuice

  • Please make the firmware 3.0 match XBOX live in every way possible.

  • Hey this is my first time commenting. I just wanted to say that this blog is great, I read it every single day. I have one question for Jeff, will there be more surveys like this one but involving things other then blog features?. How about one about most wanted features in a firmware update?, like give options for each type of feature, like one feature for video, music, games, pics, system settings, etc. Then the most chosen feature for each will be implemented, maybe even a survey on which movies people would like to see the most on the video store

  • Btw, one more thing Jeff, do you think it would be possible to have the right time show if a person is in a different timezone? rather then it be like 3 hours off for a person who lives in the east coast like me

  • Home integration would make sense. Make something so we can check out home’s status on the PC. Maybe leave messages to friends online.

  • Whenever I click on the click here option it just redirects me to the blog again. What gives?

  • i like the idea of the podcast but i would prefer if it wasn’t just marketing like the ads you get from sony emails. something about developers and exclusive games.

i want to know what the rockstar exclusive is that you talked about a few months/years ago. the one that isn’t la noire.

  • Done deal. For the love of God, do a podcast!!! That’s easily 70% of what I use my PSP for.

  • I’d love to see an audio podcast on iTunes. As it is, I listen to the 1-2 hour Gamespot’s Hotspot every week. It’d be great to hear some opinions on up-and-coming games, as well as hints and tips etc..

  • You should re-title the psn content updates with ‘Zombie Blognak’ and have him as a ps blog mascot. Beyond! Also, all the content is written in the zombie language :)

  • The idea of starting a podcast is very good and i think it will get a lot of attention. Considering the resources you guys have and the access you have at different levels within Sony, giving out new game info or new teases on how the games are coming out. It would really be a podcast worth listening to. Podcast were never my thing, but if you guys start it then i can assure that it will be the first one i start listening to on a regular basis.
