Street Fighter IV Invades PS3, San Francisco

Posted by Jeff Rubenstein // Social Media Manager

Hundreds of fans got their hands on the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Street Fighter IV recently, as Capcom held its final round of Street Fighter Club in San Francisco. I caught up with Seth Killian, who (quite favorably) compared the PS3 version of the game with the arcade, as well as John Diamonon, who I thought you all might wanna meet, seeing as he’s a staple here on the blog.

Oh, and a PROTIP from me: The optional install for SFIV is well worth a bit of your hard drive space – it drives load times in between matches down to almost nothing.

One final note from Capcom: PlayStation gamers will soon be able to experience Resident Evil 5 for themselves as the intense new two-level demo will be downloadable on the PlayStation Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 on February 2, 2009. With three modes of action- single-player with AI controlled support, split-screen two-player co-op and two-player co-op across PlayStation Network- the demo will give fans an in-depth glimpse into the game a month before it launches on Friday, March 13, 2009.

Great news about that RE5 demo!

Oh, and Jeff . . . what’s up with my PSN avatar not showing up here? Works fine on the boards, so why not here?

And where’s that video?

And as for John D, he still has yet to accept my SUMWZSF2TU:CE challenge . . . my Ken vs. whoever he wants he wants to have his ass kicked as.

Because I know John will eventually read this, don’t sing it; bring it.

Jeff Rubenstein replied on January 21, 2009 at 1:33 pm

For the record, he took me down in 3 rounds, Ken vs Ken, I believe.

I took him off guard in the first round, and it wasn’t even close in the final 2. He’s the real deal.

R.E. demo……yes….I hope it plays as good as it looks. Do both games have trophy support? How about in game music? Thanks for the info.

rAdIOhEaD73  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Very good news, I am buying both games (SF IV and Resident Evil 5) day 1!!!
It’s good to see CAPCOM supporting the PS3 with these amazing games.

EvoAnubis  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:37 pm

*laughs* Of course I merged my account, Jeff! You know how long I’ve been waiting to do that.

And I believe John’s good, but ain’t nothing like a good ass-whuppin, and it’s about time he had one.

You hear me John!? Come get some!

Oh….I’m dumb. You asked WHEN. Today, about 40 minutes ago.

Sorry; I’m in a hurry, and reading too fast.

DLB  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:38 pm

Cant wait for this game, will there be a space in Home for it? Will Capcom be making it or you lovely folks at SCE?

it’s so cool seeing how much the people behind the games love the community.

21

Zezzler  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:42 pm

How about an Underground fight club for SFIV in Canada, eh? Nothing too interesting really happens to the neighbours of the north… but i’m glad to see that their is a demo for RE5!

Any news about some new network games to be issued? like a Flock demo? or maybe some classic RE games for ps1 classics?

22

IcEmAn_S6  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:43 pm

Cant wait for the RE5 demo!!!

TL2  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:44 pm

I remember hearing about home spaces for sf4 and re5 being out around the respective launches of the two titles a long time ago but recently its been all quiet on that front, I was wondering if anyone could at least say if a capcom home announcement would be coming soon or not

27

SpyDudeFX  |  January 21st, 2009 at 1:44 pm

RE5 sounds awesome, co-op on PSN is going to be amazing. I can’t wait for this. Now about the new PSN Blog features, it would be ideal to have a “remember me” feature. I hate having to deal with the tedious PSN login process of being redirecting twice, and then it doesn’t put you back where you started lol

36

Vengeful-Chaos  |  January 21st, 2009 at 2:02 pm

Can’t wait for the RE demo.

Also why does it show my original PS Blog id but it shows my PSN avatar. Is that how it’s suppose to be?

37

Wait a minute it’s not showing C-h-a-o-s anymore, scratch my previous question.
