The new SOCOM.com has officially launched!

While SOCOM.com is still in beta, it’s open to the public and has many new features for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation fans. There are a lot of changes to check out, so let’s get into it from top to bottom.

At the very top of the site is a scrolling ticker. It’s a live feed from My SOCOM, and it lists the top rated players in a variety of categories, number of players currently online, and even a feed of the titles of the latest blog posts. If you see something you like, click it to get more info!

Just below that is our new menu bar. Mousing over Community or My SOCOM reveals a couple of drop down menus. Community gives you direct access to the forums and the blog.

My SOCOM is pretty meaty. You can access My SOCOM itself, which is your gateway to the Leaderboards, your clan, profile, and many other options. If you need to check your mail, get the latest in clan updates, or compare your stats to a standout player, you can do that here. You can even recruit new clan members or view the manual for SOCOM: Confrontation.

To fully appreciate SOCOM.com, you’re going to have to log in with your PSN ID. Use the same email address and password you use on your PLAYSTATION 3. By doing this, you can use your PSN ID on the forums and in My SOCOM.

SOCOM.com is in beta and we’ve got some cool new features coming your way in the near future. Stay tuned, and come on over and check us out.

  • while socom had its issues in the beginning the game is the best shooter on the market today! it prob should not have come out when it did in the US, but after 1.30 it runs smooth, looks great and the maps are tremendous!

  • I love this game a lot, its really really fun, but there are still too many bugs! Any idea when the next patch is coming?

Also can you make a real ‘quick match’ button, the current one takes you to a match with your friends, which isnt really a quick match, a quick match is when the game sends you straight into a match so you can play right away.

  • LOL
i bought this POS from P$N a while ago. i seriously tried to like it but i just HATE it soooo much. i invited some mates round to give it a shot cause they “wanted” to buy it too but they both agreed with me. the game is a steaming pile of junk. seriously dont even bother releasing it to the pal territories they know how crap this game is and it wont sell.
i dont understand why it wasnt delayed like everything else for the delaystation just so you guys could at least try to get it right.

so since purchase, i reckon ive played it for about half an hour personally. thats about all i could tolerate!

  • Not to be rude or anything, but with Killzone 2 on the way who really cares about SOCOM now?

  • 16 days until the death of SOCOM. Get ready for 4000 player Saturday nights.

  • 16 days until the death of SOCOM? SOCOM died months ago…

  • So when are we going to hear about SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 for the PSP…?

  • Seriously, everyone complaining about this and that is really annoying. I know that complaints lead to a better game though; that being said, there’s a difference: When people complain to have things fixed, they say what the issue is that they have a problem with. Saying that the game is only half complete is just pointless. The fact of the matter is, Zipper left SOCOM, not the other way around, and Sony, for obvious reasons, wanted SOCOM to be on the PS3. I will agree that more time should have been taken in the polishing and configuration of the game. Though, can you really blame them? A lot of developers have feared developing games for the PS3 simply because of the massive size/ power of the br disc as well as the amazing processing power of the PS3. Though Confrontation may not have been everything that S6 had promised, it still is a great game. This is the first major game from S6 and a new experience for the developers. The SOCOM franchise isn’t dead, but rather being reborn. The first SOCOM game was a fantastic game, and nonetheless astonished many; however, in comparison to Combined Assualt, it doesn’t even match up. The game has grown into the PS2 and it will grow into the PS3 just as well if we all just give it time
