While we enjoy carrying good news on these pages, there was much to be excited about from outside sources over the past few days: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 confirmed for PS3, Valkyria Chronicles DLC upcoming, and you can now pick up God of War: Chains of Olympus for just 20 bucks.

Things that matter most:

Universal Game Invites
Voice Messaging
Private Chat in-game
Allow two or more users to sign on PSN the same time and let them both get trophies
Add Optional sound to notifications so when you are focused on the middle of the screen you know you got a new message or someone came online
symbols and numbers that represent friends online and messages sent somewhere on the XMB and one beside the message box
Auto Sync Trophies
More options on profiles
Report feature to report users, cheaters etc.
Faster loading XMB and profiles
More developed profiles
When you recieve a message you should be able to push the PSN button for it to automatically pop up as long as the notification is still there.
Friend Request should go on the top of the friends list instead of the bottom

More details on what your friends are doing
XMB for PS2 games and movies
group friends like how u can group instant messaging friends( to oraganize people you met from certain games, online, school, etc.)

I don’t get what was so big about it. Just a bunch of crying 13 year olds who actually kicked me for doing better than them in L4D.

I liked the Microsoft should leave PS3 alone article though. Really great reads from that place.

Same here dude. I am not going to be a God member anymore because my 1 year subscription ended this month. I don’t play online on the xbox 360 so I was a waste of money getting it.

Oh and anyone that is buying a PS3 from Bestbuy this week will get two free blu-ray movies. I just thought I would let everyone that reads this post know about the deal.

Hey Jeff since you’ve given us an article on MKV2VOB made me think it is time to pass on some features that I need for my encodes. My entire DVD collection is on my server now for viewing on my home’s PS3s (yes plural). I’m sad to say that MP4 seems to be lacking in a few features that are part of the standard. Could you possibly pass this request on to Eric:

Full MPEG 4 support for the following parts:
*Full Compliance with MPEG 4 PART 14
*MPEG 4 PART 17, Subtitles for timed text in MP4 files (3GPP TIMED TEXT)

I’d also like the support of multiple audio streams via DLNA/UPnP Media servers seeing how I can do that on my PS3 locally already. Some of my movies I like to watch dubbed and in their original language with subtitles depending on what I’m up for. Case in points Final Fantasy VII Advent Children.

Oh and Bring back PS2 BC via emulation and InGame XMB for PS2/1 games.
