Hats off to Insomniac Games who was recently named one of “California’s Best Places to Work” in this year’s Employers Group survey. The only video-game studio to have made the list, Insomniac ranked as the fifth best place to work in California. The award represents the eighth “best workplace” honor the team has won since 2005.
2008 marked a momentous year for Resistance 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty, as well as the opening of its new North Carolina studio.
Insomniac continues to grow at a steady pace and is currently seeking new employees in a variety of production-related positions. If you’re interested in joining the Insomniac team, check out Insomniac’s career page for current openings:
As part of its upcoming 15th anniversary celebration, Insomniac is treating its employees and their significant others to a fun-filled cruise to the Bahamas. For additional company perks, take a look at Insomniac’s 2008 recruitment video below.
Congrats Insomniac and enjoy the well-deserved trip!

I’m working my way through college right now in hopes for applying as a designer to the NC office. I live in KY so it’s awesome having a place on the East Coast as a prospect. I wont be out of school till 2011 but I’m using their apply page as a check list for what I should be learning.

Resistance 2 was phenomenal, and even better the second time through. Here’s hoping you guys shelve Ratchet for awhile (no offense) and either hit us with a new IP or some more Resistance goodness. Oh yeah, and stay exclusive to Sony! We need you guys…thanks!

I love companies like this… Large gaming companies that keep a small company feel…
Insomniac and Naughty Dog are BOTH great at this! : )

Aluc | March 10th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
@all those that said kz2 is better
This is just my opinion I beat resistance 2 in like first or second day and was into it. Killzone 2 just doesn’t have that feel for me. Your invading a enemy planet it should have had way more enemies and be intense For me it lacked that feel.
Anyway, back on topic I checked out the video again and yes I saw that one. It looks like a very great environment to work in. I hope that when I get my degrees hopefully soon I’ll be able to work there. Burbank is still in CA and I wouldn’t have to move too far away :)

What stands out the most to me is that they’re the only video game studio to make the list. A well-deserved congratulations for both their contributions and their integrity.

@ Aluc #64
It’s quite the opposite for me I thought I was the biggest Resistance fan out there and when I played the game I thought this is all they have to offer? Here we are being invaded and all the huge machines and creatures go down with ease, a few well placed rockets and presto city saved.
By any chance have you gotten to Visari’s Palace yet? For me that one level had more intensity than any of Resistance 2. To each their own I say, just thought i’d voice my opinion as well.

spideyal | March 11th, 2009 at 12:45 am
Hahaha You guys are too cool.
And the guy on the guitar reminds me of Jack Black. That seems like the funnest office to work in. Although I couldn’t really put myself at office jobs. Outdoors is my kind of job.
Anyways, congratulations!
Hope you have fun on that cruise.

congratulations.
I’m relieved to see you’re all insane. If you were normal I’d worry. The best art (yes, games are art) comes from lunatics. Can’t wait for Ratchet & Clank Future 2. Though I’m still mad at the way you killed Nathan Hale. He should have at least survived a trilogy. And yes bring back Cartwright. Anywho congratulations once again.

Thanks!!

I’m definitely going to get some training to work at Insomniac, R&C is awesome! I think that they’re starting to get like a one- tick pony, though, maybe they should start a new franchise.
P.S. Release date for 2009 R&C, please!

…have you not heard of Resistance? Resistance 2?
Not that I wouldn’t love a third IP from Insomniac…

Aluc | March 11th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
@72 Yeah, I beat the game already. It was more annoying than intense sense i kept dying there. And it wasn’t as intense as you might think. Check out how many helghast actually attack you, count all of them max of 10 maybe 12. It wasn’t enough to be intense. Now R2 on the other hand. Trying to escape that last ship before it crashes was awesome!
