A number of you have been asking about this on our weekend posts, and today SEGA has the answer. Beginning with tomorrow’s April 16th’s PlayStation Store update, gamers will be able to return to Gallia to fight some new EWII battles.
Here are details on the Valkyria Chronicles DLC, direct from SEGA:
- Hard EX Mode – fight your way once again through the entire Imperial army, where the enemies are more lethal and your main tank Edelweiss is unavailable. You’ll have to be more strategic in order to overcome your opponents.
- Edy’s Mission “Enter the Edy Detachment” – six members have been separated from Squad 7 and on their journey to reunite with their squad, they stumble upon a tiny village under attack by the Imperial Army. Play as Edy and command your outnumbered team to defend the small village from annihilation.
- Selvaria’s Mission “Behind Her Blue Flame”– Taking place right after the outbreak of Gallian battle lines, you play as Johann, a young and meek engineer assigned to Selvaria’s troop. See the action as it unfolds behind enemy lines and see the war play out through the eyes of the enemy.

Well it’s about time but I wanted trophies. This is one of the most amazing PS3 games I’ve ever played and I’d like to go back to it sooner than later but not without trophy support.
now all we need is trophies! :)

There are more great games than I can afford to buy these days so having trophy support is crucial.

Sounds great and all but if they are working this hard on making this amazing game better (it’s a shame it’s sales have been so weak) then WHY NOT PATCH IN TROPHIES?

The problem with the demo on the PSN store is it makes this game seem like there is no story and it’s just long battles. That’s not the case.
Also there should be trophies patched in along with DLC, that’s holding a lot of people back since people love trophies now.

I would absolutely pick this game up if it had trophy support. But right now, my wallet is reserved for game companies who are willing to step up and provide what are now bare essentials in games.

Yes, I will definately be getting this DLC. I echo the author of this post in saying that Valkyria Chronicles is a magnificent and beautiful game. I also recently heard that the game is on sale at Gamestop for only 30 bucks.

I am very excited for this news!! This was one of my favorite 2008 games, good to see the DLC finally come out over here.
Sega should definitely do some sort of spiritual sequel to this. Doesn’t necessarily need to be a direct one, same characters and all… but I would love to have this art style and these gameplay mechanics carried over into more games!
