I am very curious why there is so little feedback from Sony on the PS Store blogposts.

It seems like there are many valid questions/comments that appear every week, and I have not seen much if any feedback from Sony. Other blogposts seem to get some attention when questions/comments are made.

Can Anyone from Sony comment?

jdizzle84  |  April 10th, 2009 at 9:25 am

Where the hell are the PS1 games? The Japanese PSN store just got FFVII. Someone from Sony please give an explanation why we have a tenth of the games the Japanese PSN store has.

153

Sigmakan  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:00 am

Just to repeat above, where the heck are PS1 games? If Japan is getting these great games then it obviously means that these ‘rights’ issues arent that big. Please release more PS1 games on the PSN!!!

154

Atomika14  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:00 am

It’s getting to the point where I don’t even fire up my PS3 on Thursdays anymore… Why bother?

155

tlgomez  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:04 am

I was looking at the PS3 tab and it has the little reviews on things that were hitting PSN today and one of them was new content for WWE SmackDown vs Raw 2009 and yet it doesn’t say anything about it here and it’s on the the PSN… odd.

156

RichGiven  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:08 am

I am just wondering when/if we will ever have the ability to gift a PSN item to a PS Friend?
My kids do this all the time on the Wii and I believe you can do it on X360.
Would be nice to have this feature on the PSN Store… thoughts?

NarutoSoul  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:24 am

@149:
I would LOVE to pay for content, but I’m only going to pay for content that I want. SUCH AS PS1 CLASSICS. And a lot of the complaints are about what? *Gasp* THE LACK OF PS1 CLASSICS! I don’t want them for free, I just want them. And apparently, so do many people. Sure, rights issues may come up occasionally because of the US’s retardedly strict rights system, but there is a difference between some games being unavailable for acquisition and NO PS1 CLASSICS IN MONTHS.

And apparently, even a polite inquiry is ignored here. What, do I have to start calling Sony? Will I get a response then? I buy quite a bit of stuff from the PS Store, but nowhere near as much as I would if we were getting the kind of PS1 Classic support that Japan or even Europe is getting(PLEASE, I WANTS SILENT HILL, I WANTS IT AND NEEDS IT!). (to be continued)

158

NarutoSoul  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:25 am

(continued from 157)

Well, now I’m ranting and getting off topic. Simply put, most of the complaints I’ve seen are actually towards lack of content found in other regions, mainly focused on the scant PS1 Classic support in the NA region. And while many of these complaints are rude or poorly-worded, there are a few that are polite and coherent enough to deserve some kind of response. We’re not asking to sit in the boardroom and make decisions, we’d just like an occasional response answering our questions.

Like I said before, silence in the face of criticism and inquiry is very bad for PR. And while this whole “console wars” thing is pretty stupid, it’s still a part of the market. C’mon Sony, bring out the big guns!

159

Onna76_NL  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:26 am

Hey Sony when are we in Europe / America going to get FFVII in the PSN store? The game is available in the HK / JP store, same as Xenogears and we still haven’t got it! Common, the Japanese get like 100x more PS classics than we, while the most consumers buying a PS3 are in the West!

160

ExcelKnight  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:46 am

@149
I actually buy stuff. I bought Suikoden when it came out. I bought Wild Arms when I got my PS3. I bought Wipeout when it came out!

Half a year later, where’s Wipeout XL? Where’s Wild Arms 2? Suikoden 2 I can understand not being there because Tierkreis just came out, but at least confirming that it’s coming would keep me from eying eBay for the ridiculously priced $100 USED copies of the game.

162

Arcturian  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:48 am

166

Not too bad of an update – but how about a Michigan State Theme? They made it to the championship game, but don’t get a theme? :)

YODA798907  |  April 10th, 2009 at 1:30 pm

Ms. Chen, please read and let me know if any of this is even taken into consideration for the next Playstation Store update:

1). The ability to own not just rent HD movies on the Playstation Store, hopefully its not a studio issue.

2). The ability to select between 720p or 1080p if we are able to download HD movies to own.

3). The ability to add video content to games for download, so we can see weather or not we want to purchase that game.

4). The ability to redownload a movie I have already purchased!! Why is it not a red bag on movies we’ve purchasec like there is on the games? If I have to upgrade my hard drive or send my PS3 off for repair I would like to be able to redownload a movie I already spent my money on in case something had went wrong with the upgrade or the repair!

Thanx

170

YODA798907  |  April 10th, 2009 at 1:52 pm

Also Ms. Chen, if its possible if you or someone that has more pull than you, talk to Capcom & SNK? There are 2 games I would love to see come to the PS3:

1). (Capcom),Power Stone (the Dreamcast version) for the PS3, or make a better more update version using the PS3 software like they did with Street Fighter IV.

2). (SNK), Samurai Showdown 2. For some reason the 360 has this on XBOX live and PS3 does not!! These are clasic games that I and many others would like to see on the Playstation Store for download!!

Thank you

171

YODA798907  |  April 10th, 2009 at 2:04 pm

I forgot one more:

3). (Rare/Midway) Killer Instinct 2. Old skool version for Playstation Store or a newer version using the Ps3’s software would be much better!

Thanx

172

mgsfoxhound2  |  April 10th, 2009 at 2:33 pm

geeze give these guys a break most of this stuff is free like the home spaces and we are not even being charged yearly for online use its free too. if youve ever herd the phrase you get what u pay for u know what i mean and i think it is pretty good service for not having to pay a penny for online games. You just want your cake and eat it too well just pick one and be happy!! im sure that if enough people want online play for Rag Doll then sony will add it in a update…. and will probibly be free too so appreaciate what you have and if you cant wait go outside!!

173

LWolf  |  April 10th, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Agreed, SCEA needs to bring us more PS1 Classics, the copyright excuse can’t work forever.

174

NeoMagus  |  April 10th, 2009 at 4:15 pm

whoever is in charge of picking the US stores PS1 selection should be sacked, and with us getting shafted on FFVII no surprise there..guess I’ll just have to pull out the cds instead and not my wallet

175

Seph_luis_br  |  April 10th, 2009 at 5:01 pm

Too bad that they don’t lauch any of the PS1 Classics.
The Japanese PSN just received Final Fantasy VII and we in the US still need to be forever waiting.
Where’s the PS1 classics ?

176

czakhary  |  April 10th, 2009 at 5:28 pm

Nice update, I wanted to check out Flock. Keep the content rolling.

177

Champ78  |  April 10th, 2009 at 10:53 pm

Where are the PS One games? This is ridiculous.

178

swissmr  |  April 10th, 2009 at 11:49 pm

STOP with the PSone classic carp!!!!

you all need to just buy/find/ebay the ps1 game and play it on your ps3!!! and will prob be cheaper than the download price
All ps3’s can play psone disks REGUARDLESS of backwards compatibility that only is referring to ps2 games.

Why make easy things hard?

179

ThaddeusK  |  April 11th, 2009 at 2:01 am

I think I’m in love with Christina Lee. Is there something wrong with that? :P

180

Onna76_NL  |  April 11th, 2009 at 7:33 am

@swissmr

a) Because most of the PS classics cost a freaking fortune on Ebay. If you don’t even know about this, then you shouldn’t judge.
b) Nintendo even has 10x more classic games on VC than Sony has on PSN.
c) Japan gets 10x more PS classics than the West while most consumers buying a PS3 are in the West not even in Japan.

181

Onna76_NL  |  April 11th, 2009 at 7:34 am

Don’t promise something if you can’t live up to it is my saying.

182

ExcelKnight  |  April 11th, 2009 at 7:56 am

@178
I’d seriously like to see you find Suikoden for under $30 on eBay or Suikoden 2 for under $80. Those are the used copy prices, too. The new copy (ones that will work 100% of the time) price? $150 and $300 as a minimum.

FF7 also goes for no less than $20 on average unless you troll eBay for days on end, same goes for a lot of other highly requested games here. The only games that are cheaper on eBay are the shovelware games that got wide releases and no audience.

183

Crieg  |  April 11th, 2009 at 10:26 am

Hey, I just read that the Japanese playstation store is getting Final Fantasy VII.

How come we aren’t?

184

yingyangdr96  |  April 11th, 2009 at 6:54 pm

I think Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic is a great game but you guys should release a patch or update to add online multiplayer. And I think too that will be great make Add-Ons for example like special costumes for customized character.

This is just an opinion.

185

ThaddeusK  |  April 12th, 2009 at 4:13 pm

@183
Because you touch yourself at night.

186

FAMILYGY3319  |  April 12th, 2009 at 4:18 pm

Does anyone remember this little thing called the Playstation Eye that came out like last year? I bought one last year and every week that goes by without new content for this peripheral is another example of how I (and many others i assume) have been swindled by Sony. Did they just forget about us?

187

swissmr  |  April 12th, 2009 at 5:08 pm

@186

supply and demand familygy…supply and demand

i wish they would too its a great cam and mic but how many people do you know who have a pseye? what they need to do is release a game that less of a simple screen saver and more…….inventive that will make people say hey i need to go out and buy a pseye. A ps3 version of AntiGrav would be great.

188

ajritchie  |  April 13th, 2009 at 3:33 pm

Six months after the release of LittleBigPlanet and we still don’t have a LBP theme. Why not?

191

JOHNANDANETTE  |  April 15th, 2009 at 6:19 am

I thought flock sucked. It is a little expensive at 15. I played it for 5 minutes and deleted it.

192

JOHNANDANETTE  |  April 15th, 2009 at 6:20 am

They need a demo for ragdoll kung fu. That looks like a fun game.

193

DanielEvan  |  April 15th, 2009 at 9:45 am

Sony, you are on my LAST LEG! I won’t be purchasing any of your **** until you start releasing some content that was suppose to be released like two years ago for example: The WipEout Pulse Dlc content that was suppose to be released when the game was however Europe And Australia were the ONLY TWO countries that have it! I’ll leave the store alone and if I say HOLY CENSORD this store had an Extreme makeover that means I’ll be happy with the store.

194

Wafi24  |  April 15th, 2009 at 12:58 pm

Please add the kung fu fists of plastic patch for online gameplay nothing without it.
