Join us for the official PlayStation.Blog E3 Meet-up! Again!

I don’t know how many of you current PlayStation.Blog readers attended last year’s E3 meet-up, but it holds a special place in my heart. It was the Summer of 2008, and a small, upstart blog, barely a year old, met with 50 or so of our closest friends to eat our weight in tacos and drink gallons of horchata.

We also definitively proved that I’m a better Hot Shots Golf player than Andrew Yoon.

Thanks to all who came out!

Fast forward to 2009, and E3 is back to its former glory. I even hear that booth babes will return. So we better step up our game. That’s why I’m happy to announce the PSB E3 2009 meet-up!

PlayStation.Blog E3 Meetup 2009!

On Sunday, May 31st, Chris, myself, and the rest of the PlayStation.Blog staff will celebrate the start of E3 2009 with a fiesta at Mama’s Hot Tamales Café (the Los Angeles location) from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. If I could bring San Francisco’s Tamale Lady down to cook for you, I would. Fortunately, I hear Mama makes one heck of a tamale herself.

But it’s not all about food – the PlayStation.Blog E3 Meet-up will be the first public hands-on showing of SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3, and the devs will be on hand to answer questions and offer tips. Free food, pre-release game, what else do you need? Oh yes…

In true PlayStation.Blog meet-up fashion,we’ll also be giving away cool prizes, free schwag and a special incentive for the ultimate PlayStation fans: on top of all that, I’m happy to announce that the first 100 people through the door will be granted access to the PlayStation E3 Press Conference, taking place the following Tuesday at 11am!

Note: You must be 18 years or older to attend. It’s a school day :-)

Oh, and yes, this event is free. If you think you can make it, please RSVP on our Facebook event page (or, if you don’t “do” FB, email us your RSVP here).

We hope to see you there!

  • I didn’t get to make it last year with work. I should be able to do it this time since its at night. I already told my boss not to schedule for those days. Hopefully he remembers, if not i might have to call in sick.

  • So I know it’s for ages 18 and older but could I, as a 16 year old, go with a parent :p ?

  • Hey Jeff,
Ive been behind lately and I havent been reading the blog as often as I used to :( I just found this. I wanted to ask you if this will be a yearly thing, like if I wanted to go next year you would be having one.

Also, Im assuming it means after Sonys part in E3 is over we will be escorted to the door lol. If you wanted to stay a few days, you know make it a mini vacay out of it is there anything else to do or see that has to do with E3.. That you dont need a badge for? Probably not but thought Id ask.

I look forward to next year :)

  • I might be going. But if I am not, then I envy those who are the first 100 people, because I really, really want to go to a sony conference! And, I’m Media. Damnit.

  • Sorry i was unable to attend PS Staff. I RSVP’ed but 2 things came up. One my wifes friend got diagnose with cancer so we had to rush to Sna bernandino for a pick me up meet with her. We did pass by before we went and this is where the second reason comes in. Me and my wife pas by and saw tha line around ten-ish. Wanted to tuck-n-Roll out of the car so bad but yeah that means i would come home to the coach or floor. Secondly That area is Very gang active, i mean San Andreas active. I am not Gang a ffiliated but trouble always seem to follow. gotta take on for the team and sit this one out. We did end up passing by 4:30 and saw all the people there. We check the perimeter and still was not feeling it. And willing to Tatt PS anything on me for the E3 conference, drake shirt, and dips on future events. Seriously. Not cancer or street fuss will get in the again, will be there for the next event you guys do.

  • I will be in Comic-Con and hopefully see you there. and the PSP GO is awesome.

  • Do you guys have plans to be there, in Comic-Con this year, i got the Saturday pass.

  • Well, I tried to hang again this year…brought the family out and everything, but the line was around the corner and my boys (9 & 5) were hungry. Of course they were very disappointed that they didn’t get to hang with Jeff…

  • Hey Jeff and PlayStation staff! Thanks for the event. I had a good time and I tell you this much, I didn’t expect to eat so many tamales they were delicious! :) LOL What I didn’t really expect from you guys was that not only did you guys gave us a good time playing Socom FTB3 and the access to Sony’s Press Conference for the first 100 people, but you also surprised us with “FREE ACCESS TO E3 FOR ALL 3 DAY’S!” DUDE’s SERIOUS! THANKS AMILLLIIIOOON! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! Now I just cant wait! I guess I’ll have to take some Vicodin to go to sleep! LOL

  • I just wanted to say thanks to Chis and Jeff and the whole PlayStation Blog team. I’ll be wearing my Uncharted 2 t-shirt with pride at the press conference on Tuesday and another super thank you for the E3 pass too!!
