What an amazing week!
Hey guys wtf is wrong with PSN?
I got like 3 hours trying to log in and keep getting the DNS erros (80710102) everything its great in my connection and setting plus I can use the browser on the PS3 but cant log in to PSN.
Something for everyone? Then were is the contents most of us are looking forward too? Where is my Qore episode?

@52 Ive been having the same problem but not just today….I finally managed to connect to the psn…ive tried punching in the dns error online and browse the forums…alot of them say it might be router issues…bleh…I don’t know…

@45– So catering to the consumer isn’t a good Idea, due to the fact that “most” people complain about the price? One, just because people complain doesn’t mean they’re not purchasing, and two even if the complainers aren’t purchasing you still have those like myself who are. Back to my original statement –If there wasn’t market for PS1 titles then there wouldn’t be a section dedicated to it plain and simple. You sure you’re not the one in High School?

Could you guys please thank who ever made it possible for us to have 50 PSOne titles added before years end. Getting FF7 is a real treat and it is finally nice to play it on the go. Also nice to not worry about my butter fingers with my CD’s for the game anymore.
I can’t wait to see which PSOne games you guys managed to swing before the end of the year. I can’t wait for MGS1 to pop up.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go download Street Fighter Alpha 2.
You guys really need to start putting demos up along with the PSN games… I think it would encourage more people to buy games that wouldn’t otherwise… and since this is something that your competition is already doing for EVERY downloadable game, it just makes it look like Sony doesn’t really know what they’re doing, or maybe that they would rather their consumers make UNeducated decisions, which would be even worse.

Sounds like you’re on Road Runner, they’ve been having issues with their DNS servers for the past 3 months. Try resetting your cable modem box by unplugging it for about 60 seconds.
Usually this will reset the designated DNS server by requesting information from the DHCP server giving you another server to get onto the PSN with.
DNS error is not sony’s fault.

When configuring your PS3 network (regardless of wired or wireless), use the manual option. If you use DHCP, leave address resolution at automatic BUT CHANGE THE DNS SERVER ENTRY TO MANUAL.
Open your DNS and input this:

But it is the only choice I am given that works in Canada (other than Apple which I would never do). MS has committed today to support the platform until minimum 2015 so it can only get better.
I’d really rather not but with NO news of ANY type of movement from SONY on a video store to Canada I don’t see any better alternative.
It is annoying to have paid a premium to but the beast that the PS3 is and then STILL have to drop another 300$ to get a video store when I’d much rather spend that on content from SONY such as games or a PSP go in the fall. Now with the Xbox I’ll likely end up with a Zune in the fall to make my videos portable.
All SONY has to do is say ‘yes we are working on it and we expect it out by X quarter of the year’ but instead we get silence and indifference and they are losing a core customer such as myself.

It is impossible to give an exact date of when the video service will be leagal in Canada. Even the quarter dates will only be at a 40% chance. Unless Sony gets a physic and tells them the future, they cannot do anything about it.
Hell, they cant tell the CRTC to hurry there asses up, and they cant tell them to do anything. Also, you do realize that the Sony commits to a 10 year life cycle, right? Look at the PS1, started at 1994 and ended at 2006.. The PS2 was released at the year 2000 and still being supported today.
I know that you are getting impatient, but they really cannot do anything about it.
