..sorry for my english first.. but I’ll try. I think you know that everytime there’s an FW update a ton of reply expolde in the blog… And you know what really your community is asking for.. but everytime, I don’t know.. photogallery, life with playstation and so on.. speak honestly, these are all great feauteres.. but secondary.. in a gaming console they are not a priority for gamers. And PS3 is a GREAT game console! Playstation is a grat brand.. a great history for all us.. so we need or ask more social and gaming features.. today online gaming is a strong part of business and entrateinement.. gaming, not PLaystation Home.. so Private-voice chat must increase.. gamers profile must increase and so on..
I don’t understand why spending time, energy and money to develop a photogallery or a text chat that anybody asked for.. and ignore our request since year now.
And the worst thing, you don’t even speak with us.. is more than a year that I don’t see an interview with Eric Lampel for example or anybody from PNS developement team.
It would be GREAT to know more about their project and work.. PSN and XMB is like air for us gamers.
So only this.. speak with us.. and let us know about your work! We’re adult and we can understand and maybe suggest something or discuss. But if you trat us like stupid child.. you will have naturally stupid reactions.

FU Sony, way to listen to your customers. Good job falling way behind the competition with the most expensive most “powerful” game console that can’t handle basic online functionality.
-Cross Game Voice Chat!
-Party features.
-Faster in game XMB.
-Ability to stream internet radio.
-Web Browser that actually works well. (WebKit based or something)
-Launch all games from Home. (like LittleBigPlanet, Socom, and all FPSs)
-PS Home avitars
Come on Sony… I love my ps3, but you guys really need to get up to date with some features.
In game voice chat
Party System
Ability to join friends games and send invites from XMB
Custom music in ALL games (at least during single player)
And the speed of the XMB really needs to be fixed. It takes way to long to load.
What the hell is this?
Can you at least elaborate on what sort of “playback” quality it will improve? Will it load games faster? Will it load the in-game XMB faster?
Where is the hell in in-game/x-game voice chat?!
These so-called updates are becoming a joke.
This may be unrelated to the topic but I don’t know where to turn. I’ve been waiting patiently on fallout 3 d/l content to be available. I’ve read about it comming out near the end of june. Any word on that?
Is it also possible to expend the backup utility so that you can select what “groups” you want to backup.
ie when creating a backup I can select (one, multiple or all)
– Photo
– Music
– Video
– Games
– Games Data
– Games Saves
Currently my PS3 ‘s backup is over 60GB in size and takes to long to create.
its pritty pathetic after all this time no features we want.
Firmware 1.80 added DLNA streaming, media upscaling and a bunch of other cool stuff. What does 2.80 add? “Improved playback of some Playstation format software.”

Activision straight lied to you!
Trophies are the devs responsibility to implement. If they didn’t put them in the game there is nothing SCEA or anyone else can do.
Now if they are not syncing but are supported in the game then yes it is the PSN.
But hey since your selling your PS3 and if you have a 60GB I will buy it I could use a third one …
Couldn’t the Playstation 3 Be treated the Same Way That Sony Webtv Worked?
We had our own community “Updates/Status” Page” where they told us what each update is about, what’s added in it, what was removed, and what is improved.
They had 4 different types of testers that were regular webtv subscribers
they would test all the new features that most users requested so they could smash out most or all the bugs
Updates were given out randomly to each subscriber and when we would log on we had the option on the screen to accept it or downgrade to the upgrade we had before.
The playstation browser definitely needs a facelift,it crashes alot after you load a site it be cloudy white need hit cancel to bring page up. update the flash player!
Who ever decides what to include in a FW update, U SUCK! Big time.

Yes I do realize, but I still have some hope that these are being read in some form. Anyways it is funny that the euro blog is having a much better community feel then the NA one since they were the ones compalaining about lack of communication >:)
I thought 2.76 was to fix some playback issues etc..
What does it mean when playback is improved for PS3 software?Does it mean less laggy or something?

yo they really have put real updates because this is getting ridiculous….they have to put something thats gonna blow our minds and make the PS3 a better system then the peace of crap xbox
Blew my mind alright,
was playing Infamous after downloading the update and the system crashed. now will not start. goes from red to flash of yellow, then red then flashing.
I’ve powered down, went through the same cycle, waited a couple of hours, still nothing
What shall I do?
My main request is still to allow for reading subtitle files (like .srt) with video files. This is a basic feature in media players and is sorely missed in my ps3. it really shouldn’t be difficult to add support for this.
also, the browser really needs an upgrade. it really slows down on modern websites.

This update doesn’t improve anything, just blocks a program that allows a laptop to use the remoteplay feature. What is the harm in that sony? I think that it a sweet feature. Of course sony sucks….

Your ps3 might of overheated. Make sure there is about a foot of space all around and let it cool. If you try again and no luck, your screwed. Your power supply is probably is dead. Unless you have a warranty still get ready to shell out 150 bucks. This happened to me twice. PS3 quality is not as good as you think it is
The ps3 is maxed out in terms of features so lets just enjoys the games everybody.
These update threads so make my week. It full of people who “demand” something of Sony. Others that say “Sony wasted my time”. Sony engineering took months/weeks/hours to create a firmware that they wanted to bring features to. Your now wasting their time with the bickering. They read the blog, just put well thoughts out, calm and rational thoughts into firmware features. It might works, there is no way the death threats will get you cross XMB chat.
Eric…not sure if anyone on this blog has mentioned this yet, but today I was going to send one of my PS3 friends a photo of the PSP GO……guess what….the attach photo feature is gone from Text messaging.
My friends is also not there.
Eric….I apologize…must be real tired from work.
I was texting someone while in Life with Playstation and now realize…I can’t attach a picture unless I quit that feature.
